On Fox News’ Special Report Monday night, Charles Krauthammer took a couple of moments to call out former President Obama for making “condescending” remarks about ObamaCare at a speech commemorating former President John F. Kennedy.
Krauthammer noted dryly that it was “nice to be reminded of why we should be grateful as a nation that he is gone” after 100 days of absence. He bid the former president “good riddance.”
In his usual passive-aggressive manner, Obama attacked Republicans by saying “it does not take courage to help those who are wealthy or powerful, but that it does take courage to help sick people.”
Krauthammer hit upon a theme he has dwelt on many times before: the former president’s “complete moral condescension” of always assuming the moral high ground while ascribing the worst possible motives to his political opponents.
According to Obama, Krauthammer said, “the other guys are cowards because I and people who support me … stand with the poor and the afflicted and all that, and the other side is on the side of the rich and the powerful.”
“That is complete nonsense,” said Sir Charles. “What the Democrats have done is practically commit political suicide,” he argued.
“To pretend you are the one advocating [in a courageous way] is complete nonsense,” he said. “He reminded me it’s been 100 days, but good riddance, Mr. President.” Krauthammer added, “That is the restrained version of my reaction to that condescension.”
