The Twitter-verse has way too much time on its hands. The upcoming Baywatch movie (to be released in theaters in 2017) has a gorgeous villain, Indian star Priyanka Chopra. (You might recognize her from The Jungle Book or ABC’s show Quantico.) Recently the beauty was featured on the cover of Maxim magazine, and then it all went downhill from there.
Apparently Chopra’s armpits caused quite a stir. You read that right: her armpits. Internet commenters couldn’t believe that her underarms could look as flawless as they did, and accused Maxim of photoshopping them. Considering magazines (Maxim included) have been known to photoshop far more than underarms, it’s unclear what the ruckus was all about.
The Hindustan Times had this to say about the not-so-scandalous incident:
Before you can say photoshop, there was ‘pit-a-monium’ on Twitter. Or as some are calling it, the ‘armpitsgate’. It seems when Maxim India named Baywatch star Priyanka ‘hottest woman in the world’, they decided the claim should stand all kinds of scrutiny and decided on making her perfection, armpits and all. So you see no fuzz and no folds when you look at her on the cover.
Chopra nonchalantly responded to the madness by posting a photo on Twitter, arms raised in the air, with no mention of whether the initial shot had been retouched or not.

Check out some of the Twitter comments below. Luckily, “Armpitsgate” has begun to quiet down.
Wish I was as stunning as #PriyankaChopra ‘s armpit without Photoshop.

This magazine majorly photoshopped Priyanka Chopra’s armpit and we have questions: https://t.co/W5dKkhELB1
