Han Solo and Princess Leia were possibly one of the biggest dreams of all geekdom! They made the perfect couple. Both headstrong, feisty, fiercely loyal, and stubborn. The chemistry they had between them was electric. A couple working together to save the galaxy from ultimate destruction had a certain sexiness to it.
Well now, Stars Wars fans’ ultimate dream has been realized. Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) recently revealed to PEOPLE and wrote in her book, The Princess Diarist, that she and Han Solo (Harrison Ford) had a real-life affair! OMG! The affair happened 40 years ago while the two were filming “Star Wars: Episode IV—a New Hope” in 1976. She was just 19 and he was a 33-year-old man who was married with two children.
She describes the affair in book, writing, “It was so intense.” But Fisher seemed to lack self-esteem, doubting herself. “I looked over at Harrison. A hero’s face — a few strands of hair fell over his noble, slightly furrowed brow. How could you ask such a shining specimen of a man to be satisfied with the likes of me?”
The steamy pair spent their first evening together after a birthday party for George Lucas. For the book, Fisher recollects from journals that she kept during the filming of Star Wars. She gave Ford advance notice and he even received a draft before she revealed their secret to the world. He gave no comment.
