Why are American young people increasingly socialist? Because schools, celebrities, and universities are so incredibly biased in favor of socialism. This is a huge political and cultural crisis of our times, illustrating the need for a total restructuring of America’s education system.
George Washington would be disgusted and alarmed at the views that most of the faculty and students at the university named for him have. George Washington University (GWU) is even more extreme in its goals than the British imperialists whom the Revolutionary generation fought. Campus Reform analyzed Federal Election Commission (FEC) data to ascertain that 99% of GWU faculty political donations for this election cycle, or nearly $228,000, went to Democrats and leftists, while only about $2,000 went to right-leaning candidates and causes.
A single sociology professor, Terrie Gale, allegedly donated $14,465 to leftist candidates. Gale claimed to Campus Reform that her politics do not affect her teaching, but that is highly improbable. GWU law professor Jonathan Cedarbaum donated over $11,000 to leftists.
Similarly, Campus Reform analyzed FEC data to determine that 98.5% of midterm election political donations from Northeastern University faculty went to leftists. Biologist Tovah Day reportedly donated $7,000 to left-wing candidates. Over at elite school University of California, Berkeley, about 96% of faculty midterm election donations skewed left. And at Howard University, just over 97% of faculty political donations were for Democrats and leftists.
Then, 95% of faculty midterm donations from the University of Colorado Boulder went to leftists, including $16,000 from teaching professor John Keller, according to Campus Reform. Even in red states, educators skew heavily left. Florida State University’s faculty political donations went to leftists at a rate of 84%.

This all explains why a 2025 Cato/YouGov survey found that 62% of Americans under 30 favor socialism. And a third of them said they had a favorable view of communism. Also in 2025, a poll from Heartland Institute found 53% of Americans ages 18 to 39 hope to see a democratic socialist candidate win the presidential election in 2028, and 76% supported nationalizing healthcare and technology companies.
Millions of Americans attend and/or graduate from the propaganda mills known as universities. Communists have been infiltrating the American education system since at least the 1920s, but the hatred of America and promotion of socialism have become particularly egregious in the last few decades.

If you want to know why young Americans have so much less patriotism, so much more entitlement, and so much less discipline than previous generations, look to the education system. Parents spent too long trusting their kids to institutions run by radicals and activists. The Commies have taken over our universities and colleges.
