Déjà Vu? Bass Was at Obama Center When Huge L.A. Fire Broke Out.

Remember how Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass ignored warnings of a serious fire risk and traveled to Ghana just before the devastating 2025 Palisades fire got out of control? And remember how Bass refused to adopt any of the fire prevention measures that could have saved Los Angeles the first time around? Well, once again, she was out of town for the outbreak of a fire that also followed indications of danger.

Bass refuses to learn because she doesn’t think she should have to. She believes that she is owed another term in office regardless of how terribly she ran the city. There is strong evidence that she would’ve faced registered Republican Spencer Pratt in a runoff or even possibly lost her recent primary election had a network of ballot harvesters not been bribing homeless voters while election officials dragged out counting.

But Bass is not trying to appeal to voters. She doesn’t think she should have to listen to her constituents on anything. Like all Democrats, she believes she, in her immense superiority, ought always to be in power, and the peasants should put up with it. That includes her total indifference to massive fires, often caused by arson, as the Palisades fire was and always made worse by her own woke climate alarmist policies. As long as such a fire doesn’t affect her personal life, she won’t lose any sleep over it.

The Los Angeles Times reported June 24:

The fire (at a cold storage facility in Boyle Heights began burning Wednesday, hours after Bass departed for the dedication of the Barack Obama Presidential Center in Chicago…While the scale of the destruction in Boyle Heights doesn’t compare to the 12 lives and thousands of homes lost in the Palisades fire, Angelenos are having flashbacks as toxic smoke hovers over parts of the region…Guerra said it didn’t help that Kevin Marchetti, the owner of the cold storage facility operating in the burning building, contributed the maximum, $1,800, to Bass’ reelection campaign last year.

The woke outlet claimed there was no reason to expect any such crisis, but the reality is that Southern California has had another spate of fires, which authorities failed to address adequately this year. True, there might not have been any particular reason to expect the fire in that spot, but to pretend there was no reason for concern related to fires starting in the general area is deceptive. And Bass still has not provided adequate funding to the Los Angeles fire department after her previous slash to their budget.

Bass celebrated the opening of the Obama Center, a hideous structure that truly represents the legacy of President Barack Obama. And the acres of charred ground where houses used to stand, and where Bass has been slow-rolling a rebuild so the elites can take the land, are her monument, the perfect illustration of her legacy.
