Democrats’ View of Liberty Is Identical With Lenin’s

Democrats are Marxists, so it is not surprising that they should hold views in common with Marxist dictators. But Democrats appear to have an identical view of liberty to that defined by murderous and psychopathic Bolshevik revolutionary Vladimir Lenin.

Lenin, who died on this date (Jan. 21) in 1924, founded the Russian Communist Party, or Bolsheviks, and inspired the bloody and destructive Bolshevik Revolution that gave birth to the Soviet Union, which he led. Famous for his half-truths and dressed-up lies, Lenin once said, "Liberty is precious—so precious that it must be rationed."

Now, of course true freedom is not a limited quantity or a zero-sum game; if a government is doling out "freedom" in small shares, that is not true freedom, and the government is a dictatorship, for freedom and rights come from God, not from man-made institutions. But the disturbing part is that Democrats see freedom exactly as Lenin did — and that is why the Democrat Party is and has always been the worst threat to American liberty.

From the time of the first Democrat president, Andrew Jackson, onwards, the Democrat Party has defined its platform on one or more explicitly anti-American and anti-Constitutional policies, on policies that limit and undermine freedom, whether that be slavery or segregation or abortion or censorship or "gun control" or preferred pronouns.

Whether reading the speeches of slavery’s 19th-century champion John C. Calhoun, listening to the more recent screechings of Kamala Harris, or scrolling the X posts of Gavin Newsom, we note a common theme. Calhoun, Harris, Newsom, et cetera, all believe that their "freedom" requires crushing the freedom of others. Just as slaveowners used to say it was their liberty at stake with abolition, so now Democrats say that a mother's liberty demands the murder of her unborn baby, a transgender-identifying individual's liberty requires that we affirm his mental illness, and an illegal alien's liberty demands that citizens and law enforcement submit to be robbed, raped, and replaced meekly.

Like Lenin, Democrats want you and me to believe that rights and freedom are granted to us peasants, the lumpenproletariat, by the elites. As Lenin put it, liberty is rationed. A peon can own a gun, post on social media, travel, or have a baby only if the elites in their enlightened generosity allow him or her to do so, and only to the extent that he or she is allowed. And if the peon makes a statement or a life decision outside of the elites' approved narrative and parameters, the peon must expect to be punished.

The Founders wrote into the Declaration of Independence that rights come from God and are "unalienable." Therefore, if government violates rights and freedom, the government should go. There is absolutely no sense from the Founders that liberty is "rationed" or a zero-sum game. They fought a Revolution to prove this truth. Lenin fought a different sort of Revolution to establish his lie.

Here's food for thought — the Democrat Party has more ideologically in common with the men who fought the Bolshevik Revolution than the men who fought the American Revolution.
