70 African Christians Beheaded — Where Are the U.S. Bishops?

Dozens of Christians were just brutally murdered by Islamic terrorists in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), but U.S. bishops are busy bewailing deported illegal alien criminals. Western religious leaders need a major readjustment of priorities.

It is rare to hear a major Western Christian leader trying to raise awareness and aid for Christians persecuted in Africa and Asia, but the U.S. Catholic bishops have found time to sue the Trump administration over its freeze on taxpayer money for illegal aliens. Of course, the reality is that the bishops are furious that they will no longer receive many millions of dollars to resettle illegal aliens; they care more about money than about saving souls. That’s shameful.

Bishop Joseph Strickland has been critical of the blatant political bias of his fellow clerics, worried that they have allowed themselves to be blinded to their true mission by dollar signs. Former Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò has likewise spoken out against the increasingly leftist bent of prominent U.S. clerics, as have other high-profile Catholics. I’ve heard priests preach on the horrors of the border crisis, even as their bishops repurposed diocesan buildings as illegal alien shelters. We American Catholics deserve better leadership.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) shouldn’t be an arm of any political party, but most especially not of the Democrat Party, which glorifies so many evils in direct contradiction to Catholic doctrine. Joe Biden should have been excommunicated for his pro-abortion obsession alone, but too many bishops were happy to stay silent in exchange for thirty pieces of illegal alien resettlement silver.

Meanwhile, Christians are constantly jailed or murdered in Nigeria, Iran, China, Burma, Afghanistan, and elsewhere. If only Pope Francis and leftist U.S. bishops cared as much about African Christians as they do about atheist illegal alien cartels. From Open Doors:

According to field sources, at around 4am last Thursday (13 February) suspected militants from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) – a group with ties to so-called Islamic State (IS) – approached homes in [DRC’s] Mayba in the territory of Lubero, saying: “Get out, get out and don’t make any noise.” Twenty Christian men and women came out and were captured.

Shaken by this incident, people from the local community in Mayba later gathered to work out how to release those held captive. However, ADF militants surrounded the village and captured a further 50 believers.

All 70 of the hostages were subsequently massacred in a Protestant church.

Where are the marches, fundraisers, and media blitzes over the genocide of Christians in Nigeria, Sudan, and DRC? Why haven’t the bishops demanded that Nigeria be replaced on the list of countries of particular concern? (Biden removed it.) Why isn’t the USCCB working to help Christian refugees instead of moving hordes of illegals into America? It’s time for some major investigations into border crisis corruption.
