The great British mathematician and logician Bertrand Russell once observed, “There is only one world, the real world.” Yet that truism is exactly what woke Marxism is attempting, in our own time, to cover up and deny.
Truth and reality (two words for the same thing) are always the same. To some extent, we shape reality in that our actions and words produce certain consequences and alterations, but some things are always true and some things are always false. Moreover, freedom and truth go hand in hand; the Founding Fathers firmly believed that, as Jesus Christ said in John 8:32, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” That is why our battle with woke Marxism, the battle of reality versus unreality, is so vital: it is a battle for the very survival of our freedoms and our nation.
Lies about reality can be incredibly harmful. The easy and obvious example of woke Marxists demanding we all ignore an obvious reality in favor of their damaging fantasy is, of course, LGBTQ and most especially transgender ideology. One cannot change one’s biological sex, and no amount of surgery or makeup or pronoun changing will alter that. PJ Media’s Grayson Bakich covered one out of many recent examples of how the fantasy of transgender ideology harms people in the real world:
Out in Sherwood, Oregon, a boy named Aayden Gallagher just set a new record in high school track, beating the competition by about two seconds. Why is this news? Because Gallagher was racing against actual girls…And, of course, this is considered a new record in women's track, because this was in Oregon and nobody was going to tell Gallagher, "Hey, you are a guy regardless of how you identify. You cannot compete against actual women due to your blatant advantage over them."
Fortunately, some people are taking a stand against the growing issue of men beating women (in more ways than one, given the injuries involved) in women’s sports. For example, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) just became the first national college governing body to make it mandatory for athletes to compete based on their biological sex, rather than whatever made-up “gender identity” they claim. But there are still far too many sports organizations and schools that are not taking such a stand, to the detriment of women.
Of course, I think there’s a temptation for everyone of all political stripes to ignore reality for certain preferred political goals. For instance, despite plenty of poll data indicating that abortion won’t be a top issue in the 2024 election, and despite a plenitude of both moral and scientific proof that abortion is always the murder of an innocent and unique human, most conservatives are willing to compromise on abortion.
But since most Americans also believe in restricting abortion, I see great hope in this, as in many other issues, that Americans wish to live in reality and do what is right, even if political arguments can sometimes obscure the truth temporarily. Increasingly, for instance, even Democrats see through the leftist propaganda about the economy, they understand that pseudo-socialist Bidenomics is a disaster because no amount of propaganda can cover up the reality of the economic pain most of us are feeling.
My ultimate point is this: we have the truth that can so easily undermine and destroy the arguments of the woke Marxists. Their world is more fictitious than Alderaan, more nonsensical than Wonderland, more fake than the Matrix. Most Americans are disillusioned with the very Marxist rhetoric that poisoned our government and institutions. Most of us are looking for someone to unplug the Matrix and help us live in the real world.
My fellow Americans, we have only to hold fast to reality against woke insanity to win; as the great George Washington observed, “Truth will ultimately prevail, where pains is [sic] taken to bring it to light.”
