After Joe Biden’s latest hot mic idiocy to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, we have to ask ourselves — why does the left display such hostility toward Israel?
Speaking with Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) on the House floor, Biden blustered about Israel’s Jewish PM, “I told him, Bibi — and don’t repeat this — but you and I are going to have a ‘come to Jesus’ meeting.” An aide spoke to Biden, who then snarked, “I’m on a hot mic here. Good. That’s good,” according to The Hill.
The outlet noted that Biden talked about the Israel-Hamas war more than any other topic but “democracy” during his State of the Union address Thursday. He of course talked about civilians in Gaza, as leftists persist in believing the entirely untrustworthy casualty numbers and claims from the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza.
Biden of course has a disrespectful attitude toward Netanyahu, which is unsurprising given his efforts to appease Muslim voters now by harassing Israel to have a ceasefire and dropping aid in terrorist-controlled Gaza even though Hamas has no intention of stopping its jihad against Israel.
Biden demanded a “two-state solution” during his SOTU. This ignores the fact that the Arabs already have their own state (Jordan), Gazans overwhelmingly support jihad, and Israel has offered a separate Palestinian state multiple times over the years only to encounter rejection and renewed jihad. The Arabs, who have no right to Israeli land, want the destruction of Israel. Unfortunately, they seem to have a disturbing number of sympathizers among American Democrats.
Whether the leftists repeat the terrorists’ propaganda and justify their actions like members of the Congressional Squad and academic wokies or whether they pretend to care about Israel while promoting Gazan claims (like Biden), the Democrats have a serious anti-Israel prejudice. Why is that?
There are several reasons. One, of course, is that Democrats try to appease the Muslim vote by helping Gazans and criticizing Israel. But it goes much deeper than that.
Radical Muslims and Democrats both hate America as the Founders framed it, and they both hold to authoritarian systems of government. The Democrats believe in top-down, strict government control, while Muslims hold up oppressive Sharia law. They radically differ in some views — for instance on homosexuality — but politically speaking, they have often found themselves in agreement.
Islam is a religion that, since its 7th-century inception, inherently opposes individual freedom and demands that everyone agree with its tenets or die. Marxist Democrats oppose individual freedom and demand that everyone agree with them or be targeted, vilified, bankrupted, and potentially imprisoned. There are ideological similarities.
There’s also another reason, particularly for foolish young leftists who are a product of woke universities, and for Democrats who love to focus on critical race theory. These ignoramuses see all Jews — especially Israeli Jews — as eeevil white oppressors and colonizers. On the other hand, they think all Middle Eastern Muslims — but especially the so-called “Palestinians” — are oppressed people of color.
Palestinian jihadis have exploited and encouraged this false view, so wildly off from reality. Totally ignoring the centuries of almost constant Islamic persecution of Christians and Jews in the Holy Land and around the globe and refusing to recognize that Israelis are not colonizers, woke Americans go hysterical supporting Gaza and condemning Israel. Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) ideology in America’s schools encourages students to hate Jews and express their virulent anti-Semitism by bashing Israel and supporting Gazans.
Israel is a democracy with equal rights irrespective of religion or political affiliation but focused on its ancient religious Jewish heritage; this is not appealing to antisemitic, anti-freedom Democrats. They prefer to continue funneling aid to terrorist-controlled Gaza, pretending the Israelis are the problem, and babbling about the non-existent threat of Islamophobia.
