This is a real tweet from Sen. Ron Wyden, Democrat, Oregon. He is the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee.
#SCOTUS #HobbyLobby decision hurts women who work hourly jobs & struggle to make ends meet. #NotMyBossBusiness Act fixes it.
— Ron Wyden (@RonWyden) July 16, 2014
The SCOTUS decision does no such thing. It doesn’t even impact the vast majority of women working hourly wage jobs at all.
At all.
Hobby Lobby only employs about 13,000 people, and not even all of them are impacted by the decision in any way.
Sen. Wyden knows this. He just doesn’t care.
Wyden also surely knows that the following tweet is illogical. If you want bosses out of your health care choices, don’t force your boss to pay for those choices.
Duh.
Count me as a YES for keeping politicians & bosses out of your health care choices. Senate vote shortly on #NotMyBossBusiness Act.

Wyden also knows that the law that he is supporting has zero chance of passing. He just doesn’t care.
The same man is pushing for an increase in the national minimum wage.
The Congressional Budget Office estimates that raising the minimum wage could cost 500,000 jobs.
That’s far more than the number of employees that Hobby Lobby has.
Wyden surely knows that if he gets what he wants on the minimum wage, hundreds of thousand of Americans will lose their jobs.
He just doesn’t care.
