…according to “TheTrueHOOHA,” aka Edward Snowden.
Snowden may have leaned libertarian on some issues, but he also exhibited strong support for America’s security state apparatus. He didn’t just work for it as a quiet dissident. Four years before he would leak the country’s secrets, Snowden was cheering its actions and insisting that it needed healthy funding. To anyone who questioned US actions in his favored online hangout, he could be derisive.
Livid about the across-the-board defense cuts that were planned under Obama, Snowden acidly joked that “[m]aybe we could just outsource our defense needs to india.”
During one online exchange, Snowden wrote that whoever was leaking sensitive information to the New York Times “should be shot in the balls.” Which is kind of sexist, in addition to being violent. Who says the leaker couldn’t have been a woman?
Fast forward to 2013, with Snowden on the run in enemy territory.
Intelligence agencies in China and Russia gained access to highly classified U.S. intelligence and military information contained on electronic media held by renegade former National Security Agency (NSA) contractor Edward Snowden, according to U.S. officials.
The exact compromise of the secret data held on Snowden’s laptop computers remains unknown but is the subject of an ongoing damage assessment within NSA and other intelligence agencies, said officials familiar with the case.
One of the biggest fears about the compromise is whether Snowden, an NSA contractor and former CIA technician who hacked into classified intelligence networks, gained access to new U.S. nuclear war plans, the officials said.
One official fears that “The Chinese already have everything Snowden had.” Our worldwide spy efforts may be completely compromised. His computers were probably imaged by the Russians, who probably also questioned him about NSA programs directed at Russia. Whatever he had, they got. Whatever they got, others can get, in whole or in portion, for a price.
His run from Hong Kong to Russia to wherever has exposed the fact that Hillary Clinton’s “Reset” didn’t take, and the Russians and Chinese have no problem thumbing their noses at Obama and laughing at him and the US publicly.
Anyone out there still think he’s a hero?
