Not for the first time, Barack Obama has become a combination lounge and stand-up act.
We all talk often about media bias. Fallon’s show is a case in point. He fawned all over Obama last night, and didn’t challenge the president on anything during this segment. For instance, the student loan interest rate hike that Obama brags about blocking in the slow jam was voted into place by the Democrats when they controlled Congress in 2007. Students face a potential hike because the Democrats passed that hike. AP buries that fact in this story.
You won’t get a fact check from a comedy show that used its intro music selection to call Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann a “bitch” when she appeared on the show as a presidential candidate back in November. To be specific, the show called her a “lyin’ ass bitch.” The show later apologized when forced to, but by then its insidious ridicule of Bachmann to her face had already ripped around the Internet.
The same president who dishonestly claims that there is a Republican “war on women” is happy to get slobbered on by the same host whose show launched a raunchy, misogynistic attack on a prominent Republican woman.
Fallon’s show demonstrates the kind of choreographed propaganda that NBC — the same network that dishonestly edited the George Zimmerman 911 call and still has not acknowledged that on its air — will run from now to election day. You can bet that the other networks minus Fox will trip over themselves to give the preezy similar assistance.
