The Empire State Building is lit green this weekend in celebration of Eid-al-Fitr. This is the first time ever for the Muslim holiday. The Empire State has previously been lit green and red for Christmas and blue and white for Hanukkah. Other events like the New York Yankees winning the World Series have been commemorated. Nothing yet on Buddhists or Hindus. Or whether Jewish and Christian holidays will be celebrated by similar illuminations in Dubai.
