Adventures in The Patriarchy™: Anti-ICE Karens Gone Wild! Part II

Chronicling the ongoing intersectional struggle to liberate women — inclusively defined as the legacy kind and the transgenders — from The Patriarchy™, one microaggression at a time.

As one of them explained the other day, which we covered in the first installment of Anti-ICE Karens Gone Wild!, their preferred victim of police brutality is a saintly minority like George Floyd, but anti-ICE Karens are not ones to look a gift horse in the mouth, and a dead white communist lady is what was on the table.

So it’s lock and load time!

Here’s a Karen hype video — set against, for some reason, Green Day’s “Brain Stew” (no one ever accused them of being good at propaganda) — repping push-ups while explaining that she’s gearing up for war because “a woman in Minnesota was shot dead by ICE officers today by simply trying to get out of the way…. This is what the ruling class has decided will be normal.”

It would have been intimidating, maybe, if she gave her speech while doing the push-ups. In fact, she only actually does three push-ups before the clip ends because, presumably, she maxxed herself out.

This next one, an outdoor-masked Karen taking on an ICE SUV with her bare hands and iron will, is an illuminating exhibition of female psychology.

She understands she has no chance of actually stopping the vehicle in its tracks, which would defy all laws of physics. So what you see her doing is looking around and holding her hands out as if to say “is everybody seeing this?”

Because they lack the physical strength of men, the power that females wield in society is purely psychological — in this case, public shaming. She can’t stop the bad men on her own with her own strength, but she can, possibly, rally the masses by throwing herself under the proverbial bus in public, in front of cameras, because she knows that men and society in general have a natural aversion to seeing women brutalized.

In a way, it’d be much more honorable if the anti-ICE Karens just brought AR-15s to the streets to get the party started, since what they really want is for ICE agents to start getting shot (some of them say this explicitly) — only not by them, but by someone else enraged that ICE is running over innocent women with their vehicles.

Hence the spectacle here.

To be fair, the ability to essentially run backwards — while COVID-masked outdoors for safety, while pushing against a moving car, all while gesturing for the cameras — is an impressive display of surprising athleticism.

The next anti-ICE Karen here — and this one’s a little on the nose, as she’s literally holding the cat whom she treats as her child — uses the often-deployed ironic tactic of emasculating and body-shaming ICE officers (a practice which, in any other context, they oppose on feminist grounds):

You think that your little guy with the big beer belly and the little d*ck energy and the mask, he really, like owned the libs today… Let me tell you… I’m not gonna stop putting myself in front of black and brown people to protect them, I’m not gonna stop being empathetic, I’m not gonna stop going to protests… I’m not afraid of you.

Matt Walsh made a really good point the other day, which is that, while Karens like the specimen above are busy white-knighting for “black and brown people,” the Somalis right there in Minneapolis, whom they love so deeply, won’t even bother showing up at the vigil for the white woman who got shot by ICE because they don’t care. What’s more, they don’t feel the need to pretend to care because no one expects them to not be tribal. It’s white people, and white people only, who are ever expected not to advocate exclusively for their own tribal interests.
