Easily Duran Duran’s stupidest song, yet here I am almost 30 years later still listening to it.
So is it really stupid? Yes. Try reading the lyric out loud, and you’ll kill more brain cells than a weekend bender spent with Charlie Sheen and Nick Nolte. But it’s also as damnably catchy as anything they ever did.

It may be silly, but boy is John Taylor laying down some serious bass.
I know pining for decades past is a losing game, but ’80s music has never stopped being objectively great. Why did we ever stop making music with keyboards, or power hair ballads?
We didn’t. You just need to learn Korean or Japanese to understand it, now.
Or don’t, and just accept the lyrics would probably sound as silly as The Reflex if you did know what they were saying.
Nana Kitade rocks. Two drummers and more costume changes than a Broadway musical. Also, I have no idea what she is going on about in her tunes.

And to think we almost lost Simon at sea, before he became the first “rock star sailor” by completing the Whitbread (now Volvo) Round the World sailboat race – and finishing in third place. Quite the accomplishment.
There is a lot of excellent 80s music. Not as good as the 70s, but perfectly fine, and they had learned to use videos for effect. Robert Palmer and his babes will live forever.
This ain’t one of them. It just sucks.
It’s hardly music, at all.
It is, in fact the forerunner of the idiot crap we have today.
Sorry.
A pop classic!
I think pop is underappreciated as an art form.
Anybody who can do anything that sells a million+ units deserves respect.
