Yahoo News Bureau Chief: Romney’s a Racist
In video broadcast Monday night by ABC over the internet, an ABC News employee can be heard claiming that GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his wife Ann are unconcerned about the fate of residents of the New Orleans area who are currently being hit by Hurricane Issac.
“They aren’t concerned at all,” the person says on tape. “They are happy to have a party when black people drown.”
That line elicits laughter from several employees listening in on the joke.
That “employee” was none other than Yahoo’s Washington Bureau chief, David Chalian. He was fired today, and rightly so. Just remember, that these are the people deciding what’s news and what isn’t.
Here’s the audio.
Media bias is a myth, right? I mean, it’s not like they all laughed or anything.
UPDATE: ABC News very bravely turned and ran and made the video clip private — but not before NewsBusters saved the relevant part and made it their own. The new clips above should play just fine if you were having problems before.
H/T to our own Ed Driscoll for the save.

He’s been fired. Good riddance to bad trash…
Implying there is “good trash”?
He will be hired by MSNBC.
Good trash is the kind that, upon being deposited into a landfill, is digested by various microbes and turned into things such as methane gas, which can then be used as fuel to provide energy for productive purposes.
Bad trash such as David Challian produces methane and other gases without being in a landfill where they are not properly captured and, thus, creates a lot of hot air.
“David Chalian’s statement was inappropriate and does not represent the views of Yahoo.” — Yahoo
I think their “view” is that you’re not supposed to get caught.
Those “dog whistles” are sure causing lots of heads to explode in media-land. More please and faster!
Comcast has it. LOLOL
