Saddam/Qaeda Connection?
Alex Knapp wants to know why this isn’t getting more play:
We have obtained a document discovered in Iraq from the files of the Iraqi Intelligence Service (IIS). The report provides new evidence of links between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
The 1993 document, in Arabic, bears the logo of the Iraqi intelligence agency and is labeled “top secret” on each of its 20 pages.
The report is a list of IIS agents who are described as “collaborators.”
On page 14, the report states that among the collaborators is “the Saudi Osama bin Laden.”
The document states that bin Laden is a “Saudi businessman and is in charge of the Saudi opposition in Afghanistan.”
“And he is in good relationship with our section in Syria,” the document states, under the signature “Jabar.”
So do I.

Just guessing:
Chalabi may have even less credibility than Richard Clarke…
Why?
Four words:
“INC leader Ahmed Chalabi.”
Do we have any Qaeda/Iraq documents that didn’t come our way via the INC?
I think that, if the administration had solid evidence, we’d be hearing about it from them.
Frankly, the whole al-Qaeda/Iraq debate is a canard. Iraq provided shelter and assistance for terrorists from a wide variety of organizations, as do Iran and Syria. al-Qaeda isn’t our singular enemy, and never has been.
Among other things, Iraq was an object lesson.
I suspect that the next time we demand that a Middle Eastern government hand a terrorist over to us (or else), we’ll see a bit more cooperation.
What the 9/11 commission should be investigating is if the alleged meeting between Atta and Iraqi agents in the Czech Republic really happened. Was Czech intelligence really wrong or was it a little CYA by the CIA?
actually cya by the fbi. The FBI had said that Atta was never in Praque and based their testimony on a car rental that never was. In actually, there had no account of his whereabouts and did not want to admit it.
The original story was outed by Isikoff from MSN but they never reported that their source was wroing. Therefore, the meme remained that Atta was never there even thought Czech intelliegence said he was.
