I stopped in an Atlanta quickee-mart this morning for Gatorade (the flu is kicking my tail). CNN was blaring out of a small television, watched avidly by the only other person in the store, the clerk.

Letterman tonight went on about Saddam’s capture: “Good for Bush, good for America, bad for the Democrats” Oofh. The Daily Show was piling on, too. Double oofh.
Doing much better today, thanks. Really hit me like a ton of bricks Saturday night, I had the chills for three solid hours. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy.
Okay, maybe my *worst* enemy, but not enemies two through nine or anything.
Wedding is March 13…
The clerk was a working immigrant thus the positive attitude towards his new country, president, etc. He has seen what it’s like where he came from and knows the difference.
Our native born-to-welfare citizens are the problem. Their leaders have been keeping them in custodial custody by keeping them ignorant and poor and telling them they can’t succeed because of racism.
You’re right people are smart, but some people have been taught to not trust their own intelligence, but to trust the poverty pimps.
Nice
Stephen got a nice little note from someone he knows in Atlanta, and…well, read it. Warms the cockles of my…
Check Drudge; he’s got a thing up about the Vatican objecting to Saddam’s treatment.
Will, if you see this, don’t drink that stuff if you’re sick! The amount of sugar in a glass of orange juice is enough to lower your immune system by 50% for four hours. Drink water and take vitamins, but stay away from sugar–viruses and bacteria feed like crazy on that stuff.
I believe that it was on this forum, about a month ago, that I reached the conclusion that the Democrats are doomed. Nothing has changed my mind since then.
THE MAN ON THE STREET
A very interesting anecdotal relation here. We’ll see soon enough whether it is representative of the population at large….
Maybe about 450+ electoral votes are not out of the question, especially if the Dems nominate the good doctor.
Colin Quinn from cable’s A Tough Crowd, ripped into the Democrat’s, ripped into the calls to bring in the UN to try Saddam. Asked what the UN has done? Rwanda? 700,000 murdered. Etc.
More Anecdotes
VodkaPundit has the details….
I got the news via a phone call from a friend at around noon (CST) on Sunday. She was so excited I had to get her to calm down before I understood what she was saying. Oh honey, she says – they got him! Got who? sez I. Saddam! Yay!
OK, so what? Well, this is Costa Rica, which doesn’t even have an army. I doubt my friend even knows anyone in the armed forces. But she said that nabbing Saddam was ‘like an early Christmas present.’
We went to a bar (which was having a party for the Costa Rica chapter of the Harley Owners Group, hence it was in uproar) and everyone, Gringos and Ticos alike, was pointing at the TV laughing and mocking Saddam. There was definitely a celebratory mood in the air. A kick-ass local blues-rock band was playing up a storm, and people were just walking around with big shit-eating grins on their faces. I think the war is a lot more popular even outside the US than the media would have us believe.
