Comey, Kerry Worried Dems Are Fleeing Their Swamp for Socialist Nonsense

The Left is doing what the Left inevitably must do by design: turn on itself and eat its own tail. For most of us, this is fine.

This current period isn’t at all different than former periods of extreme disunity on the American Left. It was entirely predictable — from the outside, anyway. But creatures from the Democrats’ establishment wing somehow never saw it coming, and are now worried about the midterms.

While not an elected official and apparently a registered Republican, James Comey is a career establishment member and has shown nothing but left-of-center sympathies. He has been advocating for Democrats to take Congress this fall. Now, he is asking the Democrats not to “lose your minds and rush to the socialist left.”

Comey added: “This president and his Republican Party are counting on you to do exactly that. America’s great middle wants sensible, balanced, ethical leadership.”

Comey’s comments arrive on the heels of New York Democrats nominating socialist bartender Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over veteran Rep. Joe Crowley, an established Democrat who was the fourth-ranking member of his party in the House.

It will likely be easy for Democrats to ignore Comey now, considering his swampy behavior has managed to enrage literally every voter in the United States over the past two years.

John Kerry, however, has roots that run deep in both the Democratic establishment and the radical Left. The man was the Democratic nominee for president not that long ago, and he recently spent several years vilifying the Jewish state — a big plus for the Bernie Bots.

Here’s John Kerry on Sunday, from Face the Nation:

We have got to get away from this constant effort to destroy a presidency, whoever’s it is. It is tearing our country apart, and I think it is very, very dangerous for our democracy.

He’s right, actually — despite the likelihood that his concern is only about the destruction of the Democratic Party. The irrational frenzy to destroy Trump is simply making life much easier for  Republicans now, and later down the road. While there was a lot of anti-Obama rhetoric flying around back in the day, the right was not looking to completely destabilize the country simply because of Obama’s policies.

The Left is great at rationalizing everything they do as being in service of good and everything conservatives do as horrible and evil — to themselves. But the average American voter who lives outside that bubble isn’t buying it this time. They see Democrats refusing to behave rationally.

Comey and Kerry are trying to talk electoral sense to Democrats. Have they destroyed too much of their former reputations to get anyone to listen?
