KRGV reports that a refurbished detention center in Karnes City, TX, will be used to house hundreds of women and children who crossed into Texas illegally.

The center’s rooms, called “suites,” have only been used to house adult illegal aliens in the past, but with the recent surge of unaccompanied minors from Central America, it will now be used to house kids too.

KRGV’s story says that the illegal aliens will only be housed at the center for an average of 23 days, or that’s the federal government’s claim. The facility includes flatscreen TVs in each suite, plus ping pong tables and even an astroturf soccer field.

But in the story’s final paragraph, there is a suggestion that the stay will be longer than 23 days.

A charter school nearby will provide schooling and access to a library for the immigrant children.

Charter schools are publicly funded independent schools, and are intended to allow American students to escape failing public schools. Now this one will be used to give illegal alien kids access to the quality of schools that many American kids cannot obtain.

They have shipped enough of these illegal kids to Illinois to fill up two or three good sized schools ~ all funded on taxpayer's backs. Fact is, everything from the clothing they wear and the food they will be eating will be added onto the public debt. Great job, Government.

Well, that is weird. I thought our public schools were on the brink of financial ruin.

Of course it's unfair to American children. It's even more unfair to American taxpayers. But what's to be done about it?

These people are already here. We can't just let them die in the streets. As shockingly offensive as housing them in a charter school, with flat screen TVs, ping pong tables and a soccer field, is, would you rather put them in the morgue? I mean, seriously.

This is all the American people's fault. They voted these dolts into office. Therefore, the only solution is to vote them out.

We now have a lawless, runaway federal government. We have an inept and incompetent President. We have a horribly corrupt Congress that sets their own salaries, takes vacations whenever they want, exempts themselves from prosecution for the laws they pass, like insider trading for example, refuses to secure the borders, the list goes on. We have a federal government that is bankrupting this nation, because the politicians are enriching themselves at the expense of the people they're supposed to represent.

The federal government has three functions: provide for the common defense, support the general welfare (well being of society), and protect the citizens from fraud. And it has failed at all three. Who's fault is that? The American people's. They keep electing these jerk-offs.

Let's not forget that it was Ronald Reagan, that great bastion of conservatism whom I voted for twice, who granted amnesty in the first place. That was the beginning of this mess. So there is plenty of blame to go around.

And Bush, with his compassionate conservatism, signed the law that is being missused today. Of course we are opposed to human trafficking and young women being forced into slavery and prostitution. And now the left is manipulating the law to destroy this country.

What are you going to do about it? Vote against every establishment politician regardless of pary, that's what I say. They are the ones who created this mess. Vote them out of office.

What are you going to do? Impeach Obama? Then we'd have Biden as President, who would be worse. And then what, impeach Biden? Then we would have Boener as President, who would be worse. This guy can't even get an immigration bill passed. Impeach him too?

It begins at the county level, proceeds to the state and then to the federal. I'm with Mark Levin. In his excellent book, The Liberty Amendments, he explains how the state legislatures can convene a constitutional conventention, bypass the Congress and the Judiciary, and amend the Constitution. We have it within our power to stop this madness.

But that requires the support of our state legislators, doesn't it? And so it all comes back to the American people and who they vote for.

Americ's decline will continue from within, until the people decide enough is enough, and start electing representatives who actually represent them and not foreign nationals. And who are not interested in enriching themselves at the expense of taxpayers.

Absent that, there is nothing but doom and glooom.

The average cost of one year's education for a child in Texas (in a regular public school, not a charter school) is around $9,000.00 per school year. We currently have 4,200 illegal children housed in Texas. Since the revenue for Texas school budgets come mostly from property taxes, that comes to $37,800,000.00 that Texas property owners are going to be on the hook for.
That is not accounting for the cost that schools are going to have to bear to provide more ESL teachers and teachers who are fluent in Spanish for kids that speak no English.

I abide by the law. Why, as a Texas home owner, must I face higher property taxes to educated those who should not be here in the first place? Why should the kids in my school district be exposed to the diseases that are going to be brought into the schools by these illegal kids? The school districts are not even allowed to ask for shot/medical records for illegal students.

And what most people don't know is that these kids, many of them never having set foot into any school building, will be placed in "age appropriate" class rooms. That simply means that an illegal who is 15 and has never had a day of education, will be placed into a high school freshman class.

How long before our school budgets are bankrupt; how long before our schools are not meeting their required grade level goals and how long before the Obama administration cuts the federal funding (due to Race To The Top requirements) to those schools?

This is the biggest outrage of the Obama administration yet.

Zane ol' boy, the schools are never going to go bankrupt as long as you still have some property to tax. I realize there is a cap, but that won't last when the schools really, really need more of your money. And it will be done by state and local officials who will have no real choice either.

That's a rhetorical question of course.

Transformation, Sir! The country is being transformed, right before our very eyes. In another generation, we will be just another Latino republic with caudillos and all the rest. PS, Obama wants to make sure all the caudillos are Democrats.

Life is really pretty good for them, even in the poorest of the barrio countries.

HOW MANY OF THESE CHILDREN ARE EMOTIONALLY RUINED FROM THE HARDSHIPS OF THE JOURNEY?
How many of these children, who have been abandoned by their parents and left in the custody of human smugglers, are so emotionally scarred that they have learning disabilities? Are so emotionally scarred that they will never be able to adjust to America? Are so emotionally scarred that they have behavioral problems throughout their whole lives or become drug addicts or join gangs? We're not helping these children by taking them in. We would help them more by discouraging them from coming in the first place.

But Mike! When the Amnesty comes, and it will, they will be more than able to pull the lever for the Democrats. Where is your sense of priorities?

The Enlightened ones can't work their magic from Washington unless they first get elected, and it will be easier still if those mean ol' wepublicans can be banished to the ash heap of history as well.
