Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) thinks that the United States was founded in 1614, or something.

“Maybe I should offer a good thanks to the distinguished members of the majority, the Republicans, my chairman and others, for giving us an opportunity to have a deliberative constitutional discussion that reinforces the sanctity of this nation and how well it is that we have lasted some 400 years, operating under a constitution that clearly defines what is constitutional and what is not,” she said.

The Constitution was adopted in September of 1787, making it 226 years old.

The Yale and Virginia Law grad may not be aware that the Constitution is ambiguous and even silent on a number of issues. We generally sort those issues out via legislation or, increasingly, the courts.

This just goes to prove that Ronald Reagan was right about liberals when he said “It isn't so much that liberals are ignorant. It's just that they know so many things that aren't so.”

Actually, we found the Constitution by tipping over Guam. There it was.

Well, Ezra Klein was closer...he thought it was 100 years ago.

Or maybe she was thinking of England's Constitution?

In any case, history and arithmetic are RACIST.

It is nice to know our elected leaders keep a court jester to liven things up.

Amazing how clinically insane people can get elected to high public office. Lee, Reid, Obama and Pelosi are prime examples

You can' t help liking someone that dumb! She never should have been elected to anything but she is entertaining. Was not Ms. Lee the one who went to the Middle East or maybe Africa years ago on a radio tour to trash the USA? What a card!

The issue is not yet another stupid mouthpiece. There are plenty. The issue is really one of understanding by the GOP. So let me make it clear:
The MSM will not report on anything a Democrat does, short of John Edwards, and it was like pulling teeth. If any Republican anywhere, says anything, it's front page news. So Republicans need to realize this.
And the first thing we need to do is say it, loud! W never once stepped up to the plate and called out the MSM for their double standard. It's time to do what needs to be done. I think it's cultural. So many Republicans have a business background, founded in numbers and deeds. They don't understand, that numbers and deeds are concrete, and often difficult. Words are not. But with the right numbers one can at least hire someone who understands words. Failing to do so is political malpractice.

Agreed, but it is nevertheless a tremendous handicap. The malfeasance of the media has probably resulted in the country and various local divisions being governed by the wrong political party at least half the time since WWII.

The problem with the title of this article is the word "thinks" is used in the same sentence as SJL. She doesn't "think" she barks on command; GOOD DOGGIE, parrot the Progressive agenda. "GOOD DOGGIE".

Since my earlier comment got flagged (go ahead and read it anyway...it's somewhat insulting but flagged? Somebody has some pretty thin skin...)
I looked for this and found it at the Daily Caller site. Someone else has already posted this link but so you don't have to click thru all SEVEN pages of it here's the print version of the story.

Mebbie Mr. or Ms. ThinSkin would bother to read it so s/he will know what I mean...

Normally, and on every other Thursday, I would overlook a gaff even from a Dim.
However, coming from the mouth of this basket case who has used and abused her electorate, scammed from the needy, and abused her staff....I am laughing.

Why certainly it is over 400 years old. It was a gift to us from the Iriquois Federation don't you know? That's what is taught in high schools these days. Those 55 white male lawyers merely copied it, don't you know? I mean you should pay more attention in class don't you know?
