New York Santa Fight? New York Santa Fight!

This story may seem frivolous, and it is, but I learned a lot while checking up on it.

First, SantaCon is thing? Yes, Virginia, SantaCon is a thing. It’s a thing that turns parts of New York into an outdoor public toilet, when it’s not serving as an outdoor UFC SantArena. So, in some ways, it’s a glimpse of New York’s future under Bill DeBlasio.

Maybe the Santa gangs were brawling over the attentions of the elf on the left. Whatever the cause, this snowbound turf war between roving packs of not very jolly Saint Nick impersonators was apparently a part of that SantaCon thing. Not on the approved list of events, but you know what I mean. It was extracurricular, a sidebar session. Not officially sanctioned.

Betcha they had no idea that the R rating on their website would turn out to be prophetic. Or maybe they did. The video comes with a language warning, because, young guys, New York, and fighting. The video’s final line is priceless.

The second thing I learned: It’s the most vi-o-lent time…of the year…
