California Woman Liked Her Health Insurance, But Obamacare Won't Let Her Keep It

KCAL-TV in Los Angeles reports on what Obamacare is doing to Deborah Cavallaro. Thanks to Obamacare, she received a letter from her health insurer, Blue Cross. The letter informed her that because of Obamacare’s mandates, her policy no longer complies with the law. So Blue Cross is canceling her plan and offering her a new one.

The new policy comes with sticker shock, increasing her monthly rate from $292 to $484.

“It’s sort of forcing you to walk the plank,” Cavallaro tells KCAL. “The president kept saying, ‘If you like your plan you can keep your plan. Your premiums will be going down,’ but in fact the letter is completely contradictory to that.”

Note that Cavallaro’s experience has nothing to do with the Healthcare.gov “glitches.” The rate hike she is suffering is a direct result of Obamacare itself.
