Show business bible Variety is reporting that NBC is working on a min-series in the life of Hillary Clinton, set to air prior to her announcement that she is a presidential candidate in 2016.

Given FEC regulations, this would probably mean an airing in February or March of 2015.

Variety:

NBC Entertainment chief Bob Greenblatt opened his Television Critics Assn. exec session by talking up the Peacock’s “year of improvement” and unveiling four high-profile longform projects in the works.

Greenblatt said the Peacock is working on a miniseries about Hillary Clinton to star Diane Lane; a reboot of “Rosemary’s Baby”; a new version of Stephen King’s “Tommyknockers”; and a historical project with Mark Burnett about the pilgrims’ landing at Plymouth Rock.

Greenblatt emphasized that networks “need to be in the event business…. All of (the new projects) have their own event nature.”

The role of Bill Clinton has not yet been cast, nor is there a completed script yet, Greenblatt said. He said the mini would likely air before Hillary Clinton formally declares herself to be a presidential candidate in 2016.

“HIllary” will follow Clinton from the 1998 period of the Monica Lewinsky scandal through the present day. Script, which has not been written, will be penned by Courtney Hunt (“Frozen River”).

Lane was attached from the start to the package brought to NBC by producer Sherryl Clark, who will exec produce with James D. Stern (“Looper”) and Endgame Entertainment.

It used to be that networks tried to hide their allegiance to the Democratic party, or at least be very subtle about their support. NBC has apparently decided not to make any pretense of their political sympathies. Their shameless whoring for Democrats has reached its zenith with this project.

Anyone who thinks that a Hillary Clinton min-series will be anything but a 8 or 10 hour campaign commercial is fooling themselves. Look what the Clintons did with the ABC 9/11 movie, The Path to 9/11. Any hint of Clinton mistakes were violently attacked. One would expect the same treatment if the Hillary min-series steps over the line.

Diane Lane is a fine actress. Pity she has chosen to act as a shill for the Democratic party.

Maybe we're jumping to conclusions.

It could be a screwball comedy, with Monica Lewinsky, Kathleen Willey, Paula Jones and the rest of the Clinton bimbos sneaking around the hallways of the White House during the night with Bill in pursuit. Lots of hijinks with doors opening and closing, people darting across the halls from room to room, near misses and Hillary patrolling the halls with a rolling pin, in a big pink bathrobe, bunny slippers, with cold cream on her face and curlers in her hair.

Now that I'd watch.

I think it's safe to say the Tommyknockers mini series will be more true to life than a Hillary Clinton biopic.

Have to analyze this "putsch" (read: Hillary Clinton, “phony scandals” et al) by this administration's "central planning" gurus for what it is..."plantation politics!" A desperate policy objective, designed to perpetuate Progressive New Left Activists hold on everything American...including political power. Is there proof of this? Pay attention to electorate "segmentation" now well underway!
"Rule of Law!" Progressive New Left activists want "Rule of Law" to be adjudicated by their judicial lapdogs. Both actively seek this by performing appellate court "judicial review!"
This is called, "Judicial activism!" Exactly what Progressive New Left Activists are encouraging U.S. Dept of Justice(with ACLU as their lapdog) to perform for all American mortals. In conclusion, "My Rule, is Your Law???" ( Voila, dawning of a New Amerika)
See, Progressive New Left Activists HAVE TO DECIMATE Americas: 1)religion(Judeo-Christian being replaced with Islamism), 2) education (common core “collective” indoctrination), 3)financial capitalism(free market replaced with central planning), and 4) system of constitutional governance (morphed into modern-day Fascism).
Enter religious Paganism! This is the Worshiping of ephemeral, corporal wants, needs and desires (ex: LGBT, Plan B morning after medication to name a few). A society designed from one central political/social "center" of mortals having: 1)greed, 2)power, 3)corruption and 4) avarice as their champions and guiding principles.
U.S. Government by We The Elite People of culture of corruption in all of Washington DC united with Americas Progressive New Left Activists to further their agendas in turning We The Peoples USA into a Marxist/Leninist, Saul Alinskyite “progrom collective.”Pray. Amen.

Nah, it will be a Matrix remake showing Hillary in tight leather dodging Bosnian sniper fire.

Do you suppose they'll make sympathetic miniseries of all the other Democratic and Republican candidates? No, I don't think so either. Way to show your fairness and objectivity, NBC!

Not that NBC is the first to do this. Last year's Political Animals on USA also focused on a character who was clearly reminiscent of Hilary Clinton. Sigourney Weaver starred as a Secretary of State to a former rival for the Presidency. She was married to a former Southern President. They made this President fully white instead of half-white and gave her two sons instead of one daughter but there was very little doubt that this series was meant to evoke Hilary Clinton and get everyone excited about the prospect of her as President.

Political Animals was passed off as a standalone miniseries but ended on a cliffhanger that was clearly intended to provoke a continuation of the story. But ratings were too poor to justify that. That's probably why NBC is going for a straight puff piece instead of alluding to Clinton with characters clearly modelled on her but not named Hilary Clinton.

Diane Lane as Hillary? You mean Charlize Theron was unavailable?
This production will be a love letter from Hollywood types to Hillary. You don't really think they are going to throw in something like Hillary trying to break Bubba's kneecap at Greg Norman's place.

How are they going to make Diane Lane unattractive enough to be a. Believable Hillary?

I don't think that will be a huge challenge. I still remember a TV movie called The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman from 1974. Cicely Tyson played the title character and was about 40 when the movie was made. Jane Pittman was 110 years old when the movie began and much of the film was a flashback tracing her life from her youth as a slave until the present day (which was about 1962 at the height of the civil rights struggle). Tyson played the character at all stages of her life, from about age 20 until 110 and was convincing throughout. Obviously Tyson's talent was critical in pulling that off but I have to believe the makeup artists were also very important to making it look credible. I think they should be able to transform Diane Lane into a passable Hillary. And if this is the puff piece that I'm expecting, I think we can safely assume they won't make Lane look too much like present-day Hillary in the first place: they'll make her look attractive.

Could you imagine if Richard Nixon had been a liberal Democrate fighting against the VietNam war?

He would be depicted as the innocent victim of a bunch of hypoctiical power-mad politicians (which he was).

Of course, if he had been such, then he never would have been thrown out of office. Or re-elected, for that matther.

Regardless of NBC and the rest of the Democrat's media mavens, the real battle for the GOP is in the ethnic numbers game. The Dems can count on about 20% of the white vote, 95% of the black vote, and 70% of the Hispanic vote as of this morning. In no way does that mean the GOP can count on the rest....for if they could we wouldn't have Zero in the WH. Anyone have a good idea for a "counter" mini-series for Fox/HBO???

By the time this rolls out the public may have a massive disinterest in it and the base may have shrunk to low to give it decent ratings. Low ratings could do them more harm in the vote than good.
