Let’s step back and take a long, hard look at what Eric Holder’s Justice Department is doing right now.

George Zimmerman was acquitted in the shooting of Trayvon Martin. He has no further business in court with the state of Florida and is a free man.

Rather than accept the jury’s verdict, Holder’s DOJ convened a conference call with several left-wing groups to plot a course to continue harassing Zimmerman. With FBI agents on the call, Holder sought information from those groups to help build a case.

Do those groups know Zimmerman or have any personal knowledge of the case that was not presented in the trial? It’s extremely unlikely that they do.

Holder’s DOJ is also releasing an email address to which people are being exhorted to send tips about George Zimmerman, again, to build a case against him.

Did George Zimmerman rob a bank? Did he shoot an airplane out of the sky? Did he bring a building down?

No. He was acquitted by a jury in a fair court trial.

But the United States Department of Justice is focusing on this one man, who has been put through due process and acquitted in a court of law.

Today, we learn that the United States Department of Justice is ordering the state of Florida to break its own law.

The state case against Zimmerman is over. He won. He is entitled under Florida law to assume custody of any of his property that the state seized in the process of prosecuting him.

Holder says no, he can’t have it.

The U.S. Department of Justice, overseen by Attorney General Eric Holder, has ordered the Sanford, Florida police department to keep possession of all the evidence from George Zimmerman’s second-degree murder trial – including the exonerated neighborhood watch volunteer’s gun.

Sanford police confirmed on Thursday that the DOJ asked the agency not to return any pieces of evidence to their owners. Zimmerman was expected to get his firearm back by month’s end.

The development is a sign that the criminal section of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division is seriously investigating Zimmerman to determine if federal civil rights charges should be filed.

Many commentators have looked at the case and already concluded that Holder’s DOJ will not charge Zimmerman. I’m not so sure.

While Holder’s DOJ has been quick off the mark to continue persecuting Zimmerman, it still has not contacted any of the Tea Party groups abused by the IRS. That’s a political decision.

Holder appears to be setting the stage to file some kind of federal charges against Zimmerman. He is either doing that, or he is setting his allies on the left up for a major, and very public, disappointment.

Ask yourself which he is more likely to do: Follow the law, or disappoint the Democrat base going into the mid-terms in 2014?

If Holder intends to disappoint the party’s left-wing base, he would do it now, get it over with, and move on. But every sign points to him pursuing the case now and well into 2014. That’s every bit as political a decision as failing to follow up on the IRS abuse.

The show trial must go on.

Actually, he wasn't acquitted by a jury in a "fair court trial." He was acquitted by a jury in a visibly biased court proceeding where the judge put thumb after thumb on the scale in favor of a prosecution that had earlier intentionally withheld evidence from the defense that it was required by law to give.

If there were such a thing as "double-extra acquittal," George Zimmerman's got it.

Ironic.
If only Zimmerman worked for a Mexican drug lord, Holder would have given him a gun.

I could see Holder and the Bamster playing with fire here, in that they want to keep this as an issue and keep their base riled up long enough to get through the 2014 election cycle. If someone gets killed in mob violence as a result, they won't lose sleep over it.

This means that to placate their base, they have to go through the motions of looking into federal charges against Zimmerman.

Requesting that all evidence be retained would fall in line with that tactic and would, I assume, be normal procedure.

However, Holder's DOJ "asked" Florida and the Sanford PD to hold onto the evidence.

Since it is a request rather than an order I would say that their 'request' should be denied and all relevant private property returned to it's rightful owners posthaste.

This would also be a good time for Florida to say "ENOUGH!" and disregard the DOJ's request for additional reasons.

It would be a clear indication by the leadership in Florida that they are done with this fiasco and are no longer going to cater to those who will always refuse to be pacified.

It would also be a clear sign to those who wish to keep this issuing simmering that they should drop it as they are not going to be listened to any more.

After all, the nature of a request indicates the ability to deny that request, and as far as Florida law is concerned the matter is now closed.

Florida had an easier task trying to convict Zimmerman of 2nd Degree Murder or Manslaughter than the DOJ will of convicting him of a racially motivated murder.

Then again, Holder may not be looking for a conviction so much as he's looking for a show trial - something to drag this out for another 18 months.

I mean seriously, Zimmerman has black grandparents, volunteered his free time to tutor minority kids, and protested on behalf of a black man the Sanford PD had abused - and is not white.

Any actions by the DOJ on this will only exacerbate matters further.

Another way to look at Obama's view on this may be to consider how he looked at the Arab Spring - a view that led to some truly disastrous policy decisions.

He may be looking at the race agitators in the same light as the Arab Spring.

Even Holder's suggestion that the federal government and the race agitators should start interfering with the right of targeted individuals to defend themselves by repealing stand your ground laws (even though that law had nothing to do with this case), shows how the federal government is trying to tie the hands of those who the race agitators would target. He is even going so far as to insist there is a duty to retreat!

Then you have the fact that many among those race agitators are only interested in "winning", regardless of guilt or innocence, and you should be able to understand pretty clearly why certain parties are behaving they way they are in this matter.

How long, folks? How long are we going to allow Holder, and Obama, to rip up the U.S. Constitution? Right, or wrong, George Zimmerman was found "Not Guilty" by a jury of his peers and that's the way it works.

Instead, the race baiters, knowing their days are numbers due to the increase in the Hispanic population, will make this their Waterloo, trying to prevent the certain turn of the screw come Nov, 2014. But I have news for them; sooner or later the Hispanic vote is going to tire of the persecution of one of their own and they don't suffer from "white guilt." And sooner or later, white Americans, all across the nation, are going to be done with being labeled a "racist" by Democrats simply due to skin tone.

The Dems, led by Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Eric Holder and the rest of Holder's "people" can only push so hard until others start pushing back. Congratulations, Obama, you said you were going to "transform" this nation but we didn't understand you meant to transform it back to the '50's.

The DOJ can do whatever they like, but in the end, you can't simmer the Zimmer.

anybody want to bet Zimmerman isn't allowed to purchase another gun, thereby protecting himself from obama/holder's persecution? from past sinister plots (i.r.s., n.s.a., f & f, etc.), what thinking person would doubt sinister plans for Mr. Zimmerman? these guys have already aided in the murders of hundreds of people; and, that faulty 'executive privilege' claim to stop issa's investigation proves culpability.

The continuing persecution of that notorious white-Hispanic Zimmerman is most likely sound and fury simply to distract the public away from the ongoing IRS scandal, the emerging Benghazi cover-up/silencing witnesses scandal and any of the other problematic issues of malfeasance that pop up regularly in this administration. It's alright with them if some citizens, such as conservatives, are aware of their corruption. As long as the media and the base ignore it, all is well. The corruption just turns to vapor, billows into the atmosphere and disappears.

Holder is guilty of multiple serious abuses of power. It's time every concerned citizen called their Congressman to demand that Holder be removed from oiffice.

To be replaced by another miscreant of Obama's liking? What's the point. You live in a tyrannical dictatorship now. The individual players are irrelevant. Their every action is dictated by the.....dictator.
