This happened on June 17 at a Walmart in Oklahoma.
A deranged man snatched a two-year-old girl from her mother’s shopping cart and held a knife to her throat. The video and 911 call from the June 17 standoff were released by authorities last week.
A heroic police officer, Capt. David Huff, fatally shot 37-year-old Sammie Wallace at point-blank range, believing that the child had already been harmed by Wallace. The child was not hurt in the horrifying incident. Police said Wallace did not have any prior connection to the child or her mother.
The standoff spanned more than half an hour. The officer took action when it looked like the man was putting his knife to the little girl’s throat. Video here.
