Not all F-words are created equal.
When the 2026 midterms are finally over, there’ll be a madcap race to reverse-engineer the results — whatever they are. Everyone with skin in the game (and quite a few without) will serve sloppy explanations: Here’s why X won Texas! Here’s how Y lost Michigan! Here’s what the midterms REALLY mean for the future of America!
And in a bizarre coincidence, their explanations almost always coincide with whatever’s in their political interest. (Weird, huh?) It’s the damnedest thing: If they don’t like Donald Trump and wish the GOP would revert to Bush-style conservatism, should the midterms go south, that’s EXACTLY how they’ll interpret the results.
This is why honest political accounting is so rare: Spin is more professionally advantageous than telling the truth. Whether your audience consists of donors, doom-scrollers, activists, ideologues, or party loyalists, you go farther, raise more money, and get more clicks by leaning into the “acceptable” narrative. Whatever it is.
That's because the “acceptable” narrative already has an infrastructure. There’s an echo chamber, entrenched media, influencers, and funding. So once the party powerbrokers reach a consensus, it quickly becomes the dominant narrative.
The truth doesn’t have any of that. It’s 100% a free agent, screaming into the void — undermined, under siege, and under constant attack by the party machines.
The truth is outnumbered.
But the truth is, the 2026 midterms will come down to a single question: Are more voters fearful of the Democrats — or furious at the president?
It’s the fear versus fury election.
The Democrats are still furious about 2024. They’re furious about ICE, DOGE, the Supreme Court, Elon Musk’s money, and losing the Pronoun War. That’s what’s motivating 2026 Democrats: They’re mad as hell — oh, how they despise Donald Trump! — and the midterms are their opportunity to punish the evil Orange Monster.
Give the Dems credit: It’s a smart strategy, because fury is a helluva motivator. Always has been. It’s rule #44 of Morton Blackwell’s Laws of the Public Policy Process: “Moral outrage is the most powerful motivating force in politics.”
If you’re mad enough, you’ll do just about anything.
It’s also an emotion that puts you on offense. When you’re furious, you’re in attack mode.
Meanwhile, I’d love to tell you that Republican voters are primarily motivated by President Donald Trump’s (numerous) accomplishments, because his two-year record is legitimately astonishing. From closing the border, ending migrant chaos, collapsing the crime rate, slashing the number of drug deaths, capturing Venezuela, catapulting our GDP, eliminating DEI, and ending Iran’s nuclear threat, it was a history-making ride.
And that’s part of the problem: Now that Trump has fixed Joe Biden’s border mess, it’s no longer a rallying cry for voters. They’ve moved on to other things — like AI, data centers, and gas prices.
It’s probably not fair, but that’s reality: Voters don’t reward you for what you’ve already done. That’s in the past, bruh! Elections are always about the future.
Doesn’t matter if you just won the Cold War AND the Persian Gulf War. (See: George H. W. Bush.) Doesn’t matter if you just won World War II. (See: Winston Churchill.) Elections are always about the future.
And in the 2026 midterms, Republicans aren’t motivated by President Trump’s many, many accomplishments. They’re motivated by fear — because we’re frickin’ terrified of Islamic Socialism, the DSA’s takeover of the Democratic Party, and empowering far-left radicals like Abdul El-Sayed.
If the Republicans are more fearful of the Democrats than the Democrats are furious with Trump, then the GOP will win.
But whereas fury is an emotion that puts you on the offense, fear is reactive. It’s an emotional counterpunch. Fear is a response to stimuli; it’s a defense mechanism that keeps us safe.
Which is why anger, rage, and fury are superior motivators: Fear puts you on defense; fury puts you on offense.
And in partisan politics, it’s better to be on offense.
When you depend on fear, you almost always peak WAY after your opponent. You have to, because he’s your foil. You need him to rise, gain momentum, and reach maximum scariness before you can effectively counterpunch.
Until the threat is realistic and foreseeable, a fear campaign won’t work.
That’s been the pattern of the 2026 midterms: The Dems were rocket-fueled with anti-Trump fury and raced ahead. It emboldened them to nominate outrageously far-left candidates like James Talarico, El-Sayed, Graham Platner, and Darializa Avila Chevalier. It emboldened their surrogates, who upped their rhetoric and doubled down on the vitriol, demanding impeachment hearings, lawfare, nationalizing Elon Musk’s companies, and blaming Jews for the price of bananas.
Which scared the crap out of Republicans and right-leaning independents.
And now the GOP is closing the gap. It’s why the polls are tightening: Fear of a far-left takeover is palpable. Because it’s increasingly likely.
Yet the election is only four days away. Tick, tock. There’s still a lot of ground to cover.
The Democrats peaked too early — but that won’t matter if the Republicans peak too late!
Instead of focusing on fear, the Republicans should’ve focused on four other F-words. (No, not that one. C’mon, this is a family-friendly site.)
The midterms should’ve been about France, fraud, freaks, and failure.
France embodies the danger of unchecked migration, riots, left-wing lunacy, and self-sabotage. Here in America, our crime rate is at historic lows — yet France’s crime rate is spiraling up. It’s now tied with Libya — and more crime-ridden than Mexico, Nicaragua, Ethiopia, and (yes) the United States.
Paris was literally burning!
That might be what the DSA wants or what the BLM rioters would love to revisit, but it repulses most Americans.
Fraud ties to systemic Democratic corruption — including Somali welfare fraud, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) being sworn in under a fake name (allegedly), the Alaskan Sullivan scheme, and the party’s steadfast opposition to voter ID laws. A supermajority of Americans — 84% — support requiring photo identification to vote. It’s common sense, straightforward legislation.
A competent party would’ve capitalized on its popularity.
But because Republicans won’t even make the fraud argument, Democrats skate free. It’s been a total nonissue in the midterms.
And that was a strategic mistake.

Freaks allude to the Dems’ parade of whackjobs, weirdos, criminals, and creeps. From Angie Nixon vowing to jail Republicans to Graham Platner’s “oopsie” Totenkopf tattoo to Troy Jackson’s cousin-wife, these are the candidates that the donkeys embraced. They’re the “best of the best” — and the embodiment of today’s Democratic brand.
It’s mind-boggling that DSA candidates are vowing to use a Democratic congressional majority to push radical socialism on the American people — yet Democrat candidates in Georgia, Kansas, Iowa, Maine, New Hampshire, Ohio, Texas, South Carolina, and elsewhere have avoided being tarred-and-feathered by the label.
Even though the DSA’s legislative agenda directly depends on them winning!
The Republicans did a horrible job at connecting the dots. Absolutely abysmal. The DSA linkage should’ve been communicated better.
Failure speaks to the Biden years — when our president’s brain was oatmeal, millions of migrants flooded the border, inflation exploded, and our economy cratered. It’s the Afghanistan debacle, Russian tanks invading Ukraine, and Hamas attacking Israel. While the world burned and American power declined, the Biden administration focused its energies on DEI, policing pronouns, and transitioning kids. (Plus, prosecuting Donald Trump and other political enemies.)
And now the same people who made that mess are demanding another bite at the apple!
France, fraud, freaks, and failure. It would’ve been a WAY better closing message than fear.
C'est la vie.
One Last Thing: 2026 will reach a crescendo with the midterm elections. Nothing less than the future of our country teeters in the balance.
Never before have the political battle lines been so clearly defined. Blue wave or red wall, the 2026 midterms will be a gamechanger.
