So much for the sequester crimping their style. The Justice Department just completed an elaborate celebration of gayness, right inside the Great Hall at DOJ. I received the following email from a source that tells you all you need to know, and more. The email, in full:

The Department of Justice will hold its 2013 Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Pride Month Observance Program at11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2013, inThe Great Hall, RFK Main Justice Building. The theme for this year’s program is“Celebrating a Year of Firsts.” All DOJ employees are encouraged to attend this dynamic program and hear special remarks fromAttorney General Holder andMelissa Etheridge, Singer, Songwriter and Human Rights Activist, and the Keynote Speaker –The Honorable Tammy Baldwin, United States Senator for Wisconsin. In addition, DOJ Pride will present its Gerald B. Roemer Community Service Award to recognize contributions to the LGBT Community and its James R. Douglass Award to recognize individuals whose efforts have contributed positively to the work life environment for LGBT employees of the Department.
All employees in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area are invited to participate in this event. Managers are encouraged to grant employees reasonable official time to attend. Departmental Special Observance Programs qualify as diversity training; thus DOJ employees should consider attending these programs to satisfy Departmental or Component diversity training requirements by viewing these programs in person or viewing them via the Justice Television Network when broadcasted. Employees who wish to receive credit for attending these programs should follow the instructions below. For general questions about satisfying the diversity training requirement, please contact your Component’s Training Office or EEO Office.
1). DOJ employees who will attend the program in the Great Hall must first register vialearnDOJ (Click here to Register) and must sign-in at the Great Hall prior to the start of the program. If employees do not register onlearnDOJ and sign-in onsite, theywill not receive credit. For information on how to accesslearnDOJ or for questions or access concerns, please contact your ComponentlearnDOJ Training Coordinator or contact the JMD JCON Help Desk at 202-616-7100.
2). DOJ employees who will view the program on the Justice Television Network must have their supervisor validate, via e-mail or memo, their viewing of the program. Employees must then share this information with their Component’s Training Officer so that their attendance can be recorded in the Learning Management System.
