Gov. Fortuño served from 2009 to 2013 but was defeated in the 2012 elections. He is a member of the Republican National Committee. In the interview with Tantaros, Fortuño urged Republicans to mind our tone in the immigration debate, and focus on issues that resonate with Hispanic voters. Those include promoting school choice and maintaining that government is not the solution to all problems. Hispanic voters, says Fortuño, are naturally skeptical of government power. He also makes a good point that isn’t said often enough: Hispanic voters do not vote as a monolith. On many issues, many Hispanic voters are naturally more in line with conservative than liberal positions. Fortuño also says that Sen. Marco Rubio can help Republicans win over more Hispanic voters.

The Andrea Tantaros Show is produced by the Fox and Rice experience.
