The narrative is set with that request, isn’t it. Race is right up front, and as victims. Nothing suggests that Faur is looking for, say, a 33-year-old mom to describe how she used a pistol to defend herself and her six-year-old child. Something suggests that the “gun policy expert” Faur seeks isn’t someone from the NRA, and that part of the request is the closest that he gets to looking for anyone who might have a pro-Second Amendment view.
HARO is a service by which journalists can find experts, though it doesn’t always work. The experts can be of the self-appointed, activist variety, as Faur is apparently looking for here, or they can be fakes.

In World War I the French lost about 1.2 million DEAD out of a population of 40,000,000. In World War II the front collapsed because of ineptitude in the high command and the government, not cowardice of the Poilus. I consider the French to be a pain in the butt but I do not discount their fortitude or courage. Please take the French, but do NOT take them lightly.
