The Difference Made
—apologies to Neil Young and “The Damage Done”
I saw the night lit up in Benghazi
Ambassador killed by some jihadis
Ooh, ooh, the difference made
Saw public servants lie to try and show
The attack was due to a video
Lied, lied, the difference made
On TV watch the Secret’ry of State
Weasel, temporize and prevaricate
Smirking as she goes running out
I’ve seen both houses of the Congress played
With a rhetorical “What difference made?”
“Responsibility” is a charade..

I can imagine Hillary channeling her inner Edith Piaf, singing “I have no difference” instead of “I have no regrets.”
To make my meaning perfectly clear:
Piaf dedicated “Non, Je ne regrette rien” to Foreign Legionnaires in Algeria who had rebelled against the de Gaulle Government. Those men knew what the penalty was, and it happened. Their officers were executed and the troops were split up, re-assigned to other units.
Whatever the rightness or wrongness of their cause, their commitment to it and Piaf’s honoring of it is light-years removed from Hillary’s temper-driven Female Chauvinist Pig rant (“if you p*ss me off, I’ll make your life h*ll”) before Congress.
Still, I can see Hillary so sanctimonious that she’d try to appropriate the Piaf tune.
/Wholly without conscience.
