Last week we reported on Democratic Illinois state Sen. Donne Trotter, who faces felony gun charges after attempting to take a handgun onto an aircraft. Trotter’s troubles bring the number of Illinois Democrats facing serious charges to three, and the mystery around Trotter himself has deepened.
After his arrest, 62-year-old Trotter claimed that he had the gun, a .25 caliber Berretta, due to his second job as a security guard. His job as state senator pays $67,000 per year plus lucrative per diem when the Illinois Senate is in session.
Trotter has been in the Illinois Assembly for 24 years. But while the company he claims employs him as a security guard, All Points Security and Detective Company, lists him as an employee, he never disclosed this employment on any of his campaign finance records. He is not answering questions about the second job. Neither is All Points.
But All Points has large government contracts. Trotter’s mysterious employment with the company, plus his failure to disclose said employment as the law requires on his campaign finance documents, raises the possibility that his security guard job is a payoff scheme.
Trotter is among the Democrats vying for the US House seat recently vacated by Jesse Jackson Jr.

Good chance he’ll still get elected. Either him or his opponent that just got out of the clink for sex with an underage campaign volunteer. Or maybe they’ll just put JJJ back in. Its Chicago.
There is bigger stuff going on in Chicago than you know. And you will be surprised how much of it is connected.

And in that district, a felony charge is considered to be a resume enhancement.
A corrupt Chicago Democrat?
Pshaw!
“But All Points has large government contracts. Trotter’s mysterious employment with the company, plus his failure to disclose said employment as the law requires on his campaign finance documents, raises the possibility that his security guard job is a payoff scheme.”
In Illinois? I’m so stunned you can knock me over with a 16 ton weight.
BTW, how does the NRA rate him?
Sounds typically qualified to represent Illinois.
1. .25 caliber is not something a security guard would carry, except as backup. Its a pocket gun.
2. In Illinois its almost impossible to get a concealed carry permit unless you’re a law enforcement officer or a chicago alderman. A security guard is not allowed to carry off duty. However, if you have worked as a law enforcement officer, even for a very short time, and have worked for a security firm for several years, it is possible, but difficult, to get a carry permit. I suspect that it would be easy for trotter to get a w-2 from a friendly police force and that he was working for All Points for minimal pay simply to get enough time in law enforcement to qualify for a carry permit. He didn’t report it to the general assembly because the money was minimal.
3. Trotter consistently votes against allowing Illinois residents the right to carry a concealed weapon.
Also don’t overlook the fact that while All Points may in fact be a no show job, it is could be a way for connected people to get a CCL in Illinois while keeping the masses from obtaining one.
I know of a couple of people that are looking into that angle as well.
Why would a security guard carry a .25? 9mm, .40, .45, okay – I’ll go for it. Maybe even a .380. But a .25?
I’d bet he isn’t even authorized to carry a gun by the security firm who employs him. And I’ll bet he doesn’t have a license to carry a concealed weapon either (since it’s virtually impossible for anyone but a cop to get one in Illinois).
Rest assured if that if had happened to anyone but a connected Democrat politician we’d be sitting in jail facing a ton of charges.
May not be a payoff scheme but a concealed carry scheme. Various crime lords/drug dealers would set up phony detective agencies for the bodyguards to be able to carry weapons.
So he may not be corrupt (jury is still out there), but merely a hypocrite. In other words a typical liberal politician.
I’m comfortable calling this corruption even if it were done, not for cash, but for government-issued privileges.
Pfffft….. This will amount to nothing. Since he’s a Democrat, he could get caught with a dismembered hooker in his carry-on, and he’d get a free pass from the Lame Stream Media©
Laws are things Democrats impose on us, not comply with…
Illinois – State Assembly – 24 years
And only one gun?
Even in Chicago, the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed…if you’re a Democrat politician with the right connections. Otherwise, that musty old document that the racist right wingers call a constitution…doesn’t apply to you bub, you’re not equal enough.
Mystery? You mean a mystery like why 2 and 2 keep adding up to 4?
A Corrupt Illinois Democrat, why that’s a triple oxymoron!
A Corrupt Illinois Democrat committing a felony, why that’s a quadruple oxymoron!
And Corrupt Illinois Democrat committing a felony while the malfeasant media sweeps it under the rug… where’s Dr. Suess when you need him?
I believe you meant “redundancy,” rather than oxymoron.
Does anyone know they physical location of that shift he was supposed to have just finished working?
And am I the only one who finds it ironic that the plane he was attempting to board with his illegal (unregistered in Chicago) gun was going to Washington, DC, the only place in the country with worse gun laws than Illinois?
It used to be that the only legal weapon for Illinois security guards was a .357 magnum with .38 Special rounds loaded into it. Then they allowed the lighter and somewhat cheaper .38 Special revolvers to fit the mandated .38 Special rounds. Has that changed further? If not, then assume the obvious.
A .25 anything is pretty useless for a security guard, and the Beretta is so small it is not much use beyond knifepoint range for anybody who doesn’t practice pretty religiously.
Sounds much more like an illegal concealed carry to me.
This guarantees his lifetime employment as an Illinois legislator, if he wants to aim low.
Nobody is more electable in Illinois than an African American who flaunts his contempt for the law.
He has probably made himself a candidate for national office, or a mayorship somewhere (residence won’t matter). POTUS isn’t out of the qustion by any means.
As a resident of IL, I can guarantee that whichever black candidate is backed by The Party will be elected, regardless of his record – in the criminal sense or otherwise. Reminds me of a scene from “Blackadder” where the main character is helping his idiot sidekick apply for Parliament:
BA: Criminal record?
Baldrick (proudly): Absolutely none!
BA (disgusted): Don’t be ridiculous, Baldrick! This is Parliament we’re talking about. I’ll just put down “Fraud” and Sodomy”.
People of Illinois, meet your next governor.
Sounds like one of those ‘no show’ jobs as shown in The Sopranos. I’m shocked, shocked I tell you.
Oh, please. He’s a Chicago pol – of course it’s a payoff scheme. The only questions are A) how big is the boodle in those monthly brown envelopes? and B) How many of his relatives are also on the payroll?
So Trotter hid the fact of his other employment in his campaign finance records and then tried to sneak a weapon aboard an aircraft. Sounds like Trotter is guaranteed election to a U. S. House seat from Illinois. Amazing.
Perhaps not. Isn’t there some kind of unofficial policy in Illinois that elected Democrat officials are supposed to wait until after they’ve been elected to be charged with felonies?
Guys, this may shake the world. Illinois’ ban on carrying weapons is unconstitutional, according to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Moore v. Madigan.
Here’s a link to the opinion: http://www.ca7.uscourts.gov/tmp/NY0P7PFL.pdf
The servers are going crazy at the moment. It took me many tries to get in and D/L the document. It runs 47 pages, but if you need, I can send you a copy of the opinion.
Hell has frozen over, and we’ll never see Pat Quinn in a grocery store.
Have a great day today and a better day tomorrow. Stay safe, and may God bless. I wish you His peace.

Don’t trust a politician with your vote who doesn’t trust you with a gun.
