Fox reports that former CIA director Gen. David Petraeus has agreed to testify in Congress’ probe of the attack on the US consulate at Benghazi, Libya. Petraeus had been wavering, citing his recently exposed affair with his biographer and the fallout from that. He is scheduled to testify Friday.

Will he testify in open or closed session? Closed session is meaningless.
Closed.
Nobody should expect anything earth-shattering. History suggests yet one more instance of Lucy and the football.
Hopefully he isn’t Vince Fostered in the mean time.
Ask him if he knows where Hillary is.
My second “I told you so” in two Days.
And another stupid statement from the audience. Open sessions are meaningless. The closed session is where the action takes place.
– train wreck in China. The cars and living survivors inside have already been swiftly buried. Perhaps PJM ought to focus on local stories such as what the Texas GOP is doing to resist D.C.
“Fox reports that former CIA director Gen. David Petraeus has agreed to testify in Congress’ probe of the attack on the US consulate at Benghazi, Libya.”
As if he had a choice.
You don’t get a “Get Out of Testifying Free” card just because you cheated on your wife and got caught at it.
General Patraeus may not have known what he was getting into when he agreed to become the DCIA, but as a general officer he certainly knows how the DC power game is played. Extra marital affairs and other indescretions are rarely newsworthy among politicos, but they still end the careers of junior and senior officers. Patraeus would be the biggest of all hypocrites had he not offered to resign ASAP.
Exactly why he promulgated the transparently false story of spontaneous riots over an unwatched video is still to be determined, but I hope (naively?) that he still believes in the core values of duty, honor, and country and answers honestly at the hearings. He may have ruined his family life and ended his public service career, but he still has the chance to save his dignity.
Show courage, General. Please tell Congress in no uncertain terms exactly what happened on Sept 11, 2012. The souls and memories of four Americans demand it.
