Is there a message this star-studded list of retired Generals and Admirals is trying to send us about our Commander in Chief? President Obama may have “killed Bin Laden” but somehow he lost this distinguished group. Do not expect to receive an email from the Obama campaign reporting this defeat from the “Battle of the Brass.” (Retired)

Tommy Franks!!!
OCS Field Artillery Class Class 5-67.
You may include among Obama supporters Major General Charles Bolden, USMC (Ret.)
current Administrator of NASA. Even Benedict Arnold was a General.
Bolden is gone as NASA head. Not sure why, it wasn’t reported, imagine that.
Why isn’t Gen Boykin on here? They dont get much more conservative than him.
I always thought Wesley Clark was a worm. Powell has turned out to have race as his highest allegience. The Constitution is mine. F**k him.
On the other side (endorsing Obama) is Colin Powell.
Well, yes, that’s what it says at the top. Your point?
Wow, this is fantastic. Thank you for printing the list.
Ditto. Thanks, this is wonderful to see.
General David H. Petraeus, USA (Ret) ?
Since Petraeus “retired” he changed into a CIA suit but is still serving his country.
However, I suspect he has alot of ‘splainin’ to do these days or biting his lips trying not to talk, waiting for the election results. I wrote this last week but more info has come out since about how the CIA did not refuse any of their people any help.
http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2012/10/24/should-cia-director-general-david-petraeus-resign-over-libya/
He can’t because he is currently employed by Obama it is just like Clinton who cannot voive her opinion
I’m a Conservative and consider myself a Republican. I am NOT an Obama supporter and want as desperately as any of his detractors, to see the man removed from the office of POTUS before he totally destroys this country. However I question the validity of emails of this nature, and here’s why: I chose one random name on the list – Lieutenant General Clifford H. “Ted” Rees, Jr., USAF, (Ret.) and did a Google search. Per the following website: arlingtoncemetary.net he passed away in June of 1992. So how does this man qualify as a supporter of Romney?
Michael P – I did the same Google search and found that he had retired in June of 1992. In a US military bio of him, dated 2004, there is no mention of his death.
Here’s another one for you – Brigadier General George Peyton Cole, Jr. – Retired 1994, Passed away 1998. From the following website: http://www.aggienetwork.com/%28S%28jasv3knq3r0cpsxzy5mdrbxs%29%29/building/tribute.aspx?exhibit=1&ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1__tributeChangePage=3
How can these dead officers be endorsing a man they never knew would be running for President?
Again, I want Obama out of the office as badly as anyone, but creating lies and falsehoods and then spreading them through the use of the internet, in my opinion, makes “us” just as corrupt as the other side.
http://www.armytimes.com/news/2012/10/military-romney-endorsement-list-101812w
Peyton is the middle name not P.
Brig General George Peyton Cole Jr. is on EVERY official list of Romney military endorsers like the list here.
He is alive must just have a similar name.
Wow. Okay, I’ll stand corrected, and amazed at the same time, that there are military officers, with the same initials, some with the same names, and some that are also named after their fathers (i.e., Jr’s.), who share not only the same name, but exactly the same rank from the same branch of the military, but are not the same person. (Yea, right.) I’ve made my point – everyone should research the information that is being passed around, before they go passing it any further. Just for instance, I got an email this morning that “proves” Obama was wearing an earpiece during the last debate and was being coached off stage by someone. Geez, give me a break. http://itmakessenseblog.com/2012/10/24/the-gangster-president-just-cant-play-anything-straight-earphone-discovered-during-debate/. I will be so glad when all this is over.
There are 2 Brig Generals named George Peyton Cole, I would assume father and son see here
http://www.af.mil/information/bios/alpha.asp?alpha=C
BRIGADIER GENERAL GEORGE P. COLE Retired Feb. 1, 1970. Died Nov. 20, 1997.
BRIGADIER GENERAL GEORGE P. COLE JR. Retired Sep. 1, 1994.
http://www.airforcetimes.com/news/2012/10/military-romney-endorsement-list-101812w
Either Lt. General Rees or his ghost endorsed Team Romney in this recent link from the Air Force Times. But thanks for keeping me on my toes!
Even if some of the names included in the list of Romney supporters need to be thrown out, the key point remains: Romney is the overwhelming choice of these fine folks. That doesn’t change if some names were mistakenly included.
He is still alive and is a neighbor of mine in Pinehurst, NC.
The man you found was MAJOR Gen. Clifford H Rees, Not LT Gen Clifford H Rees Jr. Again probably Father and Son.
Both found here
http://www.af.mil/information/bios/alpha.asp?alpha=R
LIEUTENANT GENERAL CLIFFORD H. “TED” REES JR. Retired Aug. 1, 1992.
MAJOR GENERAL CLIFFORD HARCOURT REES Retired July 1, 1962. and who according to your google search passed away 6/10/1992
What’s the latest poll of how active military are voting? Where would I find this?
http://www.marinecorpstimes.com/news/2012/10/military-times-poll-romney-bests-obama-2-1-100712/
Romney vs Obama military voters breaking 2 to 1 Romney.
I’d like to see that list broken down by “Combat MOS” and “Non-Combat MOS”.
Only a small segment of our military are front line troops versus rear-echelon. Many joined to fight, and many joined to get benefits.
Sharpshooter, SSgt, USA, 95B40, 1971-1977, and Dad to a current Airborne Ranger. (and remembering the draftees who didn’t want to be there).
Draftees? If they were drafted, they made a career of service. The draft was abolished decades ago; did you miss the news that day?
http://www.sss.gov/Default.htm
Selective Service system is alive and well for males in this great nation.
Newsflash: Selective Service System is NOT the same as the draft. The Selective Service is the registry that is required should the draft be enacted. It has not been enacted, as correctly pointed out, for roughly 40 years. Our service is still volunteer. No one is forced to go in, although I wish we would reinstate the use of Military service option for minor offenders which might be better rehabilitation than anything the prison system could serve up.
Well, this retired REMF has voted GOP for quite some time.
You sound like one of those Stolen Valor sorts. A real warrior has no need to denigrate the service of others. Just saying.
You can add me to that list for WMR.
William C. Thomas SGT 12B20 78-83
According to Wiki, Obama has two more endorsements:
Richard Danzig, former Secretary of the Navy
Michael D. Lumpkin (not sure who he is.)
There, now the two candidates’ lists are MUCH more balanced. (smirk)
Please add my name to supporting Mitt Romney I am an Air Force Brig General [ret]
Thank you sir! I’m the daughter of an Army Lt. Col (killed in Vietnam) and the wife and sister of three Marines. Thank you, thank you for stepping forward. No doubt many more would have, but were not found in time.
Many civilians will NEVER understand how huge this list is..you all are the men and women who keep things running, who study, plan and execute the most intricate exercises in military and even non-military history. You all KNOW you are not supposed to be political and you know this is a huge step in a country where politicians are not overthrown in coups or turned upon by their military.
We know what an incredible indictment this is of the Obama White House.
Anyone know the source of this list? I’m a bit surprised that so many retired flag and general officers have publicly stated their preference. I love the numbers, but is it accurate?
A retired navy Captain who supports Romney.
“This ad is not being placed by the campaign. It will full page ad that will run in the Washington Times on Monday, 5 Nov. This is being placed by the admirals and generals on the list. We devoted our lives to the defense and security of our nation and feel the Obama administration is not serving us well in this regard.”
http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/2526464/633782356/name/RomneyMACad–500final4NOV2012.pdf
Ad my name to the list. I’m a retired USMC SGT MAJ. I’m an independent voter, but support Romney all the way. Semper Fi!
