Spot the strategic qualifier in this statement from President Obama today.
The American people have assumed that if you want to be president of the United States that your life’s an open book, when it comes to things like your finances.
Your life should be an open book on finances, but not mentors, college transcripts, a candidate’s true beliefs, what he meant by “fundamental transformation of America…”

Incredible. Breathtaking. Hypocrisy! When I saw this little speech on the news I had to stagger in and take a couple of blood-pressure pills just to keep from stroking out. November cannot come quick enough.
Thank you for making me laugh. Now if only Obama would stroke out.
You need to understand that when Obama looks at Romney he truly sees the Monopoly guy with the top hat, a man concerned with nothing else besides money and power. Whereas Obama sees himself as a champion of the historically downtrodden, and their representative.
Rule of law means nothing to this guy. American history means nothing. He’s a crusader. And a fool. But still, in hs mind, a crusader, with a war to fight, where victory can only come through federal programs and from rewriting laws for the permanent benefit of black and brown. It’s the only measure of victory. The rest of America is doing all right. It’s those groups that need help the most, and Barack Obama will not abide them not getting it. Government help. Federal help.
Thus, in the world of Barack Obama, Mitt Romney’s true sin is being someone who was in the corporate world, and the man deserves the scorn of all Americans. Just for choosng to be a businessman, and not a community organizer.
At least he finally realized the legitimacy of military service. Took a while, though. As I said, the man is a fool.
you are giving the slime ball way too much credit.
He’s a small-time thug and con-man who hit the jackpot by discovering that a clean articulate fractionally black guy who pretended to represent real black Amricans could get away with anything in American politics in 2008 as long as he cooed in a soothing baritone and lied through his ass about who he really is.
Spot on
Besides, it’s false.
The demand for too much information is a tactic, not a reality.
Obambus could look in a mirror to see the truth of that, except that when he looks in a mirror he probably sees no reflection at all, just hears the echo of the word, “present”.
I loved the pregnant pause Obama made after his ‘open book’ gaffe…I could see the gears spinning in his head as he realized that he was setting himself up for all the reasons that Bryan outlined. Plus his shady real estate transaction.
I can call it a gaffe, can’t I?
– now up there with “make stuff”.
