Arrogance is unbecoming:
MAUMEE, Ohio — President Obama said that repealing his signature health care law is not an option.
“I’ll work with anybody who wants to work with me to continue to improve our health care system and our health care laws, but the law I passed is here to stay,” Obama said at a campaign event in Ohio.
The constitutional scholar should note for accuracy’s sake that the Democrats in Congress passed it, and Obama signed it. But whatever, it’s just the way the government functions.
Meanwhile, Gallup finds some bad news for the president. Gallup finds that more Americans find economic harm than good in ObamaTax.
Americans are more likely to say the 2010 healthcare law upheld by the Supreme Court last week will hurt the national economy (46%) rather than help it (37%), while 18% say they don’t know or that it will have no effect.
—
Proponents of the ACA argue that it has many benefits, including in particular decreasing the number of Americans who don’t have health insurance. Opponents argue against it partly on philosophical grounds, decrying the ACA’s reliance on government to control this personal aspect of Americans’ lives. The practical impact of the law on the healthcare system and the economy will not be fully known until it has been place and medical providers and consumers react to the changes.
But with the economy continuing to top the list of Americans’ perceived most important problems facing the country, the impact of the ACA on the national economy is a major consideration. The current data show that Americans are as divided on the question of the ACA’s economic impact as they are on the bill itself, heavily along political lines. But Americans’ overall tilt toward the view that the ACA will hurt the economy may be a liability for President Obama and the ACA’s proponents.

There is no “I” in Democracy.
OK, nit-pickers, there is an “I” in “Republic.” But it’s a little “i,” not an Obama “I.”
Next he’ll be claiming *he’s* here to stay–& I don’t mean just reelected. Not in *my* universe!
That would make the progressives happy – until they realized how little he cares for anyone but himself. The use of ‘I’ is a great indicator of narcissism – Zero’s use of the singular indicates he’s done it all on his own – no need to share the limelight when you’re the dictator in charge.
At least it’s not Bush’s fault this time.
“I’ll work with anybody who wants to work with me to continue to improve our health care system and our health care laws…”
That’s funny, he didn’t want to in 2009.
That actual translation is: “I’ll work with anybody who wants to do things MY way…”
Good job. Keep reminding everybody who’s repsonsible for a POS law they hate, just in case anyone forgets between now and November.
Obamacare is Here to Stay
—by Obama and the Amateurs, with no apology to Danny and the Juniors and “Rock and Roll is Here to Stay”
Obamacare is here to stay
It will never die
It’s a thumb that I stuck all the way
In America’s eye
You can try to vote it away
Obamacare is here to stay
(You can try to vote it away
Obamacare is here to stay)
Obamacare will always be
Just ask the IRS
You think you’ve seen complexity?
Wait ’til you see this mess
Obamacare will always be
Labyrinthine complexity
(Obamacare will always be
Labyrinthine complexity)
If you don’t like Obamacare
And think that it’s oppressive
It’s past time that you were aware
It’s nothing but progressive
We’ve got plans that will curl your hair
Starting with Obamacare
(We’ve got plans that will curl your hair
Starting with Obamacare)
Obamacare—you’re on the rocks
Oh, baby
Yes, you’re on the rocks
Oh, baby
Yes, you’re on the rocks
I look forward to the truth and reality of the words: “Former President Obama”.
The ACA has already slowed the economy, full implementation will simply slow it further. It’ll be interesting to see what the June and July job numbers look like.
The law “you” passed was an unconstitutional power grab.
The law you “passed” was a product of bribes and kickbacks, that allowed opt outs for every crony and doesn’t apply to the slobs who shoved it through in the middle of the night, unread and poorly crafted.
The law “you” passed just got chopped up like a Benihana’s entree.
The law “you” passed is a tax, a whole tax and nothing but a tax.
The law “you” passed is now and has been a ball and chain on the economic recovery of this country and NOT something you “inherited”, but rather, something “you” foisted upon this country against its will.
What “you” have NOT passed…is a budget. For this, or any other monstrosity redistribution program that you have used to do nearly irreparable damage to our economy, our military, our borders, our unity, our freedoms and our standing in the world.
What “you” have passed is yet another confiscatory tax. That is the law of the land at the moment. No matter what new bait and switch swindle comes out of your mouth.
The reason Obama wanted his health care law was he probably knows that once Congress passes a law and creates a bureaucracy the chances of it being repealed are slim to none. The Republicans in Congress are not going to do much in the long run except moan and groan, and blame Obama for the next some-odd years. Already they are compromising, once again, by jumping on the bandwagon to make certain facets of the law part of the Republican health care plan.’
It seems to be the lot of the congressional Republicans to compromise their positions away over a period of time. Each time they compromise with the Democrats, they lose and the Dems gain. It’s the dialectic at work: the compromised position becomes the new Republican position on which they then compromise, ad infinitum, until they arrive at the position the Dems want.
At times, compromise is failure, not victory.
I just knew that quote you used in the headline was a paraphrase by someone with no knowledge of the role the President plays in enacting legislation.
….oh.
– he is the son of some pig god.
