They’re calling it The Cycle, and it will replace Dylan Ratigan’s show. The hosts will take turns leading the discussion, just like The Five. But instead of five hosts, it has four. Instead of all conservatives and one liberal, it’s all liberals and one conservative.
The new program, which the network was set to announce on Thursday, will feature a permanent cast of four: conservative commentator S.E. Cupp, author and pundit Touré, Salon writer Steve Kornacki and former Congressional candidate Krystal Ball. All were previously contributors to the network. The show launches on Monday at 3 PM.
Of course The Five evolved from The View and Red Eye, so everything here is derivative of something else. Being aired on MSNBC, hardly anyone is likely to notice it.
Exit question: How long will The Cycle air before it gets embroiled in an NBC-style dishonest editing scandal?

‘Exit question: How long will The Cycle air before it gets embroiled in an NBC-style dishonest editing scandal?’
1.2 seconds.
and hilarity ensues!
Don’t think that ‘postrophe’s ‘posta be there.
Fixed — thanks.
Someone’s parents actually named her “Krystal Ball?” That’s just cruel.
When I was a kid, I lived on the same street as Candy Caine. I always assumed her legal name was spelled “Candace” or “Candice”. But yeah, parents can set their kids up for some real hell from the other kids.
Toure is the most annoying person on the planet so there is no way I could watch that show.
It should be lawful to beat people who assume single-name monikers.
Well, at least we can call him by his legal name– Touré Neblett. It really ticks him off when people do that.
Sure, add another unflinching racist to the Goebbels Channel. I guess whoever’s in charge of this channel never had a Riefenstahl moment.
The fun part is whan Bob Beckel is off from The Five, Fox pops in Juan Williams, and have others (Powers, Colmes, Trippi) who could step in as the designated liberal. When S.E. has a day off from MSNBC’s new show, they sub-in who? Stockholm Syndrome Joe from the morning show? Andrew Sullivan?
The Cycle will be hijinks & mayhem . . . . and ratings in the cellar.
S.E., you’re too good for MSNBC; I realize the paycheck(s) may be great, but in the long run, I believe it’ll be a bad career move.
Wow, I thought S.E. Cupp had more class than that, apparently not.
Bob Beckel was a clownish figure to begin with – did anyone take him seriously, liberal or conservative?
But to be fair, isn’t The Five basically just a ripoff of The View? That’s 4 liberals and one conservative and has been on for years…
I can’t imagine S.E. Cupp is going to be any more successful on MSNBC than Juan Williams is on FOX News right now.
I’m surprised that S. E. Cupp, an articulate and intelligent woman, would agree to be such a show’s conservative punching bag. The lure of a television slot must be stronger than I’d ever thought.
Is there anyone on the face of the earth – not confined – who watches MSNBS at 3PM?
MSNBC? Isn’t there an antibiotic ointment for it by now?
S. E. Cupp can now be known as the only honest person on MSNBC.
