This 2009 beast from Muse could have and probably should have been the Tea Party’s anthem leading up to the 2010 mid-terms. Not that Muse meant it that way, and not so much the first verse about paranoia, but beginning with “Another promise, another scene” to “endless red tape to keep the truth confined.” Fast and Furious, anyone? The line “rise up and take the power back” works from a 10th amendment perspective. By the time the second chorus hits, you’re ready to march and have the media accuse you of being every conceivable hobgoblin they can come up with.
They will not force us, they will stop degrading us
They will not control us, we will be victorious…
Admittedly, the giant fanged teddy bear villain is a little weird.

Doesn’t Glenn Beck use this as bumper music?
Preston you Jones head, you stole this off of Infowars.com. Don’t get all tin foil hat on us now, 30,000 drones over the U.S. is patriotic.
I don’t know that they DIDN’T mean it that way. Matthew Bellamy (lead singer) has stated in interviews that he’s a libertarian.
But yeah, I love Muse and I love this song. Puts me in a fightin’ mood.
