Wisconsin Democrats Fight Over Unity Rally

It’s recall primary day in Wisconsin, where Big Labor is pouring out very big bucks to oust Republican Gov. Walker. Two Democrat candidates — Tom Barrett and Kathleen Falk — compete in a primary today to determine which of them will go up against Walker next month. Barrett is the establishment Democrat horse, Falk is the union candidate; Barrett’s expected to win easily. The contest between them and the forces behind them has been nasty, so much so that the state Democrats had planned a unity rally to follow today’s primary.

Erm, about that “unity” rally. It’s canceled.

After serious discussion, we believe we can’t afford to lose a single day of voter contact. It is imperative that we do everything we can to contact and turn out the voters we need to achieve what we have all worked so hard for over the past fifteen months – recalling Scott Walker.

The time for celebrating is when we beat Scott Walker on June 5th. So instead of uniting in celebration at the Capitol now, we need to unite in action all across the state. Please help us defeat Scott Walker by clicking the link below and signing up for a volunteer shift.

“Voter contact.” That fooled no one. The Wisconsin Democrats who spent the state to the brink of bankruptcy are now fighting amongst themselves over “unity.” The party optics of canceling a publicized unity rally couldn’t get worse, and the party insiders know that. But they canceled anyway.

Heh.
