Video: Perry’s First Presidential Web Ad, ‘Time To Get America Working Again,’ Debuts

Gov. Perry’s team is wasting no time getting out of the starting gate. This introductory video accompanies the governor’s presidential announcement in South Carolina. It hits on Perry’s biography — son of tenant farmers, Air Force pilot, the “jobs governor” — and weaves his family life and achievements throughout. Expect these themes to course through the campaign and build Perry’s case for himself and against the incumbent.

Good ad. Hits all the themes. Not petty.

An AWESOME ad. AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME.

And I’ve been seeing presidential ads since LBJ’s Goldwater daisy ad in ’64. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExjDzDsgbww)

This Perry ad is the genuine article. Great work.

  4. As a Texan now living in the Land O’ Cheese (Wisconsin), I miss fiscal responsibility at the state level, and can honestly say that Rick Perry is a true LEADER. As A Texan, I was proud to have him as our state leader, and am rejoicing big time that he is now in the running. He is a great man of character, integrity, accountability, and not afraid to make the unpopular decisions because he knows that sometimes being right is not the most popular thing. He is the only person I could get behind in 2012, and I look forward to a Perry v Obama debate next year. Go Rick, go!!

I’d buy that for a dollar!

Here is Rick Perry’s 23 minute announcement speech. He comes across real good. I like his speaking style. Speaking like a normal person with a few notes on the podium, not using a teleprompter. I don’t like Perry on illegal immigration, but he sure looks like someone who can beat Obama. 11/06/2012 cannot come soon enough!

Nanette – We’re going to hear a lot about “Cowboys” over the next 18 months. Mostly about how we don’t want one in the White House….

Baloney. Rick Perry shows every intention of owning both the Cowboy image, and the Texas swagger that goes with it, and why not? The image of the American Cowboy (along with the Minuteman, the Mountain Man, the G.I., etc) lies at the very root of the American psyche. Americans love Cowboys; and the independence, self-reliance and courage they embody. And despite the sneering, condescension and upturned noses exhibited by coastal elites, who, other than an exaggerated and sanitized “Wild West” show, always considered the Cowboy to be uncouth, smelly and uncivilized.

But the American people, sometimes, don’t mind a little “Cowboy” in their President. It helped Ronald Reagan, just as it will help Rick Perry.
