What a dumb reactionary Representative Tonko (D-NY) sounded on the Greta Show on Friday night, defending the stimulus plan and, incredibly after all this time, blaming Bush for the economy. Tonko is not an idiot. He’s an engineer. But his pathetic partisan politics made he seem almost retarded. Liberalism is dead and these people cannot face it.

“Made he seem almost retarded”? Really? Don’t start proofreading now, maybe CNN will hire you.
“Retarded?” Come on. You’re a better writer than that.
Roger, do not blame the honorable Rep. Tonko. I blame his teleprompter.
“Tonko is not an idiot. He’s an engineer.”
I find that very hard to beleive, that he’s an engineer. I doubt he’s worked in decades if he ever has. Are you sure he isn’t a professor of engineering?
Is it any harder to believe than Steve Chu being a Nobel-Prize-winning physicist or David Wu being a Stanford-educated mathematician? Partisan hackery recognizes no professional boundaries.
But look at who he represents – people in New York. They’ve proven in election after election how brain dead they are, especially in special elections. Just pour in DNC money showing granny getting pushed over the cliff in her wheelchair, and they’re manipulated like the low IQ gamma minuses in Brave New World.
Ditto. I saw that interview and am trying to track down a video.
Tonko said his “solution” to the unemployment “crisis” is massive government investment in jobs programs.
Stupid is as stupid does.
Is it possible for an engineer to be a liberal? That does not compute, like “conservative women’s studies professor.”
Social engineering, maybe… lol Otherwise, every Libtard knows that math and science is raaaacist!
Yes, it is possible for engineers to be liberals. Many engineering jobs are dependent on government subsidies. In the past that meant subsidies via the military-industrial complex. Thus engineers supported the cold war and military spending. Now, subsidies are dependent on other government programs such as Dept of Energy spending on “green energy” and various infrastructure spending proposals like bullet trains. Thus engineers now support liberals who want to continue those kinds of government spending programs.
Quite possible. I dropped the IEEE after a few years of EVERY solution they offered to EVERY problem was “more government spending”.
What do you mean he sounds almost retarded. Do you think all people with Intellectual Disabilities are alike? Here’s a tip. Ignorance is the greatest disability.
So, the problem with retarded is that it isn’t this year’s version of the right term?
Or, do you object that the author points out that Tonko’s intellectual growth has been retarded rather than facilitated.
Where do we stand on Oriental?
This is also the most unrefined and poorly written note that I’ve ever seen Tatler put out for public viewing.
