Was it Leon Panetta – not a waffling Barack Obama, supported in his indecision by Valerie Jarett – who finally ordered the assassination of bin Laden. We don’t know the truth of this. We weren’t there. But a “White House insider” quoted on Socybrty says the following:
Q: You stated that President Obama was “overruled” by military/intelligence officials regarding the decision to send in military specialists into the Osama Bin Laden compound. Was that accurate?
A: I was told – in these exact terms, “we overruled him.” (Obama) I have since followed up and received further details on exactly what that meant, as well as the specifics of how Leon Panetta worked around the president’s “persistent hesitation to act.” There appears NOT to have been an outright overruling of any specific position by President Obama, simply because there was no specific position from the president to do so. President Obama was, in this case, as in all others, working as an absentee president.
I was correct in stating there had been a push to invade the compound for several weeks if not months, primarily led by Leon Panetta, Hillary Clinton, Robert Gates, David Petraeus, and Jim Clapper. The primary opposition to this plan originated from Valerie Jarrett, and it was her opposition that was enough to create uncertainty within President Obama. Obama would meet with various components of the pro-invasion faction, almost always with Jarrett present, and then often fail to indicate his position. This situation continued for some time, though the division between Jarrett/Obama and the rest intensified more recently, most notably from Hillary Clinton. She was livid over the president’s failure to act, and her office began a campaign of anonymous leaks to the media indicating such. As for Jarrett, her concern rested on two primary fronts. One, that the military action could fail and harm the president’s already weakened standing with both the American public and the world. Second, that the attack would be viewed as an act of aggression against Muslims, and further destabilize conditions in the Middle East.
There’s more of this astounding report at the link. Who knows? But it would account for why this took so long to happen.

WTF?!
Jesus, youre collaborating the “military revolt” story Pam Geller is plying, that the military denied following orders and did it themselves. Please.
Well, actually, if you read the through the article, socyberty’s version is that Obama/Jarrett told Panetta something along the lines of ‘do it if you get a good chance’. Their (and FWIW, my) guess is that O/J figured that Panetta would refuse to hold the baby. Panetta not only held the baby, he burped it and changed it outfit.
I can’t wait for Obama to have Panetta arrested exceeding his authority and killing OBL without presidential approval. (snicker…)
http://socyberty.com/issues/white-house-insider-obama-hesitated-panetta-issued-order-to-kill-osama-bin-laden/
Hmmmmm. . . . you mean THAT Valerie Jarrett, the one born in Iran, who spoke Persian as a child?
Yeah, ElisaPardo. THAT Valerie Jarett. The same one whose grandfather owned slum projects in Chicago. The same one who herself owns slums in Chicago and was hoping to make millions selling them for the Olympics. The same one who went with the Obama entourage to try to get the Olympics to Chgo. And, the same one whose mother owns and runs Erikson Institute in Chgo. They are all nothing but Chgo. thugs…oops, I mean part of the Chgo. “elite”.
More real than reality.
O’s timeline and actions certainly fit this scenario for May 1st.
O left WH @ 9:39am for golf and returned to the WH @2:04pm looking sullen and did not even remove his golf shoes before entering the WH, as he normally did.
Are you telling me O gave this historic go ahead and returned to the WH after the helicopters were en route?. Base was approx. 160 miles from Pakistan and the assault took place at 4:00pm est. I am pretty sure CH-47′s cruising speed is about 145k’s
Not buying it…even a slacker like O would not push the time limit like that if he had any idea what was actually taking place.
Nothing about this story makes sense except a scenario like the one Insider is leaking.
But sir, you were killed on sunday
Since this is the first thing Obama’s done since he was elected that didn’t piss me off, it would make sense if he wasn’t actually the one behind it.
Y’know, it’s been niggling at me since it was announced…..and this is the most pithy and elegant summation of the problem that I’ve seen. Thanks!
Without knowing if this is true or not, there are definitely symptoms beginning to unfold of something very wrong in this White House. Their story keeps on changing, and this is going to prove catastrophic long term to the American narrative if it isn’t set right immediately. Done right, this narrative should have been immune to the inevitable attacks from Muslims and our other enemies. Already America runs the risk of looking very bad because there was so much contestable propaganda attached to the real story in order to polish Obama’s G-D reputation. This began with his speech itself where he took great pains to congratulate himself and center much of the content on his grandiosity, as well as pandering to the Muslims. Here are excerpts from the meat of the speech:
And so shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta…
I was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden…
I met repeatedly with my national security team as we developed more information…
I determined that we had enough intelligence…
Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation …
There was no mention of Bush, and one reference to the actual warriors who did the operation. Contrast that with the five references to centrality of his blessed self in this main exposition of his speech.
This unseemly preening was followed by days of wild embellishments which continued to paint Obama as the epicenter of the affair ( John Brennan’s “gutsiest decision by a President in my memory…”) or attempted to paint a contradictory picture of bin Laden where he was simultaneously hiding behind a woman, and putting up fierce armed resistance.
None of it was necessary, and it only served to embellish the heroics of Obama himself, accompanied with the now famous Pensive President photo.
Now that the story has begun to unravel, and the dithering continues regarding the release of the photos, and the bizarre lashings of Pakustan, followed by assertions that Pakistan is an ally – all of it hreatens to turn this from a big win to a big lose for America.
This freak must be impeached. He can’t even run the killing of UBL to America’s advantage. Yes, I’m saying that two days after he supposedly single-handedly hit bin Laden. One bright spot… The Leftist pro-terror, anti-American anti-enhanced interrogation platform is utterly crumbling before our eyes. That at least is a good thing.
hear hear
WELL said and accurate!
This sounds about right. The narrative pushed by the lamestream media and Obama drones is that the president acted decisively and ordered the strike? When has Obama ever demonstrated competence in anything other than self-promotion? I was disgusted to watch him take credit for this.
I hope that more of the real inside story leaks out.
Wow, surprising how the acclaim, not stating that he (President Barack Obama) is deserving of all or even majority, but at least some should be given yet still all credit is trying to be seized. Wait, i take that back it’s not surprising at all. Pity.
This “insider” guy has not gotten one thing right so far so as credible as his account sounds, I wouldn’t put any faith in it.
It explains why the situation room picture has Obama looking stressed and detached while wearing golf clothes….
Unfortunately it turns out that the picture in question was actually staged by the whitehouse. They were not actually watching the raid at the time. owever, if you Notice, Obummer was indeed wearing Golf clothes, and the story came out before the picture
This report matches the delay in Obama’s live address and his obvious discomfort and lack of finesse in delivering it. He is usually very smooth if he has a teleprompter – and he did.
This was the ultimate campaign moment – as POTUS he can claim we got America’s Public Enemy #1 in a badass raid without anyone leaking it beforehand. Everything should be five star triumph.
So why did he look so sacked out about it? I don’t believe he was unhappy with the success. I don’t like Obama, but I don’t think he wished we DIDN’T get Bin Laden. The only thing that makes sense is this Ulsterman/Insider story – that Obama was not in charge of this, was completely out of his depth and it went off DESPITE him, not because of him.
Watch his address again. Try to imagine any other President (yes, including Bush. Even Clinton) delivering that address. That was a moment to revel in calm, cool command and success of the United States. That was a moment to shine as Commander in Chief.
Obama looks like he lost a bet.
Exactly… looks like he lost a bet.. or aimlessly swept into events…
The problem is that this is all so believable. (sigh)
Go to the caption contest. Read the body language of those watching.
Gates is satisfied, comfortable… sure of how it is going. (And fine with the carnage. Professional soldier.
Hillary is aghast at the carnage. (Yes, it is ugly stuff. That’s why our warriors get the big bucks.)
Biden, likewise, is unhappy at seeing the carnage.
Obama is shrunken into himself. Think of all his boasting, and contrast it with his body language while it is actually transpiring. He looks totally unhappy… doesn’t want to be there.
Not. His. Decision.
Others in the back seem more normal about this. Interest. Eagerness.
A picture says a thousand words.
I want to just say attaboy, and go on without partisanship, but they keep changing the freakin’ story. They are trapped by their own previous rhetoric and beliefs. Hoisted by their own petards.
They should just say, “It ain’t pretty or perfect, but the world is not perfect. We got him. No further comment or details will be forthcoming.” Don’t play politics with it, and I won’t either.
Remember Leon Panetta is a Clintonite.
It does sound like something out of the Clinton Spin Machine. Here is a logic problem. If two liars are saying two different things, how can you tell which liar is lying? Anyway, who cares. OBL is dead. Rejoice.
Who’s lying?
All of them. All. The. Time.
Roger, although I am no fan of the President, I clicked on the link above and skimmed the article, and I must say, this report is too difficult to believe, it’s too incredulous. I am not familar with the Socybrty blog. What are his credentials? I have no problem believing the President was hesitant to attack the compound, he was coaxed, or pressured into authorizing the attack, but several details in this article are too difficul for me to swallow.
If I’m wrong, I would like to know.
Which details? That he can’t make a decision, or has others make decisions for him? That he’s unreliable or unrealistic? That he’s disconnected from the essential responsibilities of the Presidency?
Those seem pretty credible, for starters.
He avoids making even small decisions like the plague. His entire MO is to manipulate other people into doing stuff in order to set them up to take the blame if something goes wrong. If the thing goes well, then he jumps in to take credit.
The story is 100% consistent with the way he has operated his entire life.
Without any real corroboration — impressions of the odd Situation Rm photo and the delayed speech (and lame references to decisively attending meetings) not withstanding…
This is disturbing because it just feels so plausible w/o any proof.
This is after all the guy who waffled on letting the SEALS shoot the Somali pirate, and who has botched Libya with the perfectly wrong mix of footdragging followed by leaping w/o looking.
I had the same thoughts as Morton in #5. I told my wife this seemed to be an “all about me speech” at the time it happened. I also think Morton is absolutely correct that Bush or Clinton would have done a much better job of delivering the speech.
I can see a lot of reasons why this story is credible. Unfortunately, the MSM spin machine that carries the One’s water will do their best to quash it.
It is good the OBL is now gone but he had become sort of irrelevant.
This will give Obama a bump in the polls temporarily but he still cannot lead or get anything done and when we return to the workaday world of dealing with gas prices, jobs, the economy, and the budget, we will be right back there dealing with our child president.
Regarding the utter no-brainer (pun intended ) of releasing dead OBL photos to prove we got him, the fact that now there is a bunch of stupid pussyfooting while opinion sets in parts of the ME that it was all fake coupled with Panetta being the one to speak out more forcefully on promising a photo, really fits with the thrust of the above story even if some of its details are hyperbole.
One would have to know the intelligence data and not the intel reports that is being bantered around for public consumption, to discern if there is any remote validity to parts of that story. There is always ‘political’ dissention in the war room that usually centers around three core issues. The weight of the intel, the strategy of the mission and consequences…..never easy matters to consider. Add to the issue, the fact that this mission required military hostile actions inside a sovernign nation in which congress has given no war consent authority for.
Personally, I suspect that intel and consequences was the centerpieces of dissention with ‘political’ timing winning out in the end. The successful mission gave to the president and the dems, political fodder for the election cycle we’re entering into and use it, they will, against the GOP! The ONLY story is, the president is the winner regardless of who did or did not roll the dice!
If we had to lose to a Democrat in 2008, I wish it would have been Hillary. She has more balls than Obooby (and Bill). I think she would have ordered the operation back in October. (And she already learned the hard lesson that government-run healthcare is NOT wanted by Americans.)
However, fighting Obooby’s inertia while SOS has probably inspired her to run against him in 2012–which would work SO well to the Repubs’ advantage….
Is there any evidence to support the allegation that Hillary was leaking information showing her disapproval? I would like to see that confirmed. This certainly has pulled public attention away from the obviously photoshopped long form birth certificate… LOL!
Also, this is the first reference I have heard that Jarret was born in Iran? Is this true???
Yes it is true.
Jarrett was born in Shiraz Iran to American parents; from Wikipedia
So she’d be eligible to be the Iranian President if the Iranians had the same requirements that we do….
Bush declined Obama’s invitation to appear together at Ground Zero on Thursday.
As they say in the Texas medical profession, “It’s all urine.”
I don’t find this surprising at all. It is well known that Obama does not like his fingerprints on anything so that nothing can be traced back to him and there will always be someone to take the fall. This may well be the case here with Panetta deciding to take the responsibility.
Please correct me if I’m missing something, but how can this “White House Insider” be in a position to construct such a detailed narrative? Even assuming the account is the result of conversations with multiple people in the administration, it is just too complete. It reads like a Bob Woodward book. Let me provide an example.
The first page of the article sketches the battle-lines that emerged at various meetings. So, let us assume that our Insider is an aide of some sort to one of the parties to the meeting. If we further assume that the person (or the person’s contact) is connected to Leon Panetta at CIA, it goes a long way toward explaining access to all of the information in the article.
Except for the knowledge of the Clinton/Daley meeting. I suppose this information could be the result of various conversations, and perhaps may be evidence of the strength of the Clinton/Panetta coalition urging military action. That is certainly plausible.
But, I’ll just apply Occam’s Razor and call the account hogwash absent further proof. The account fits too neatly into my present (unfavorable) view of the Obama administration. If this report is accurate, God help us all.
I agree with you on all counts. For someone to be able to put together a narrative this detailed, they have a lot of access, and it seems unlikely that anyone this disloyal is that deeply placed.
However, there is one scenario that could make this all plausible. If the Clintonites are working together to undermine Obama and bring him down.
I’ll echo you. If this is what is actually going on behind closed doors in this administration, then God help us all.
Research the ‘reporter’ and note that he is saying “exactly” (in other articles) what you suggest. The Dem party is trying to rid itself of a disastrous “weight around its neck” in O and could be promoting a stronger candidate in ’12. So he suggests that the rug might come out…
I would be horrified if all this went down and Hillary (of whom I am no fan) FAILED to out all this info and make a primary challenge.
Then again . . .
Do D.C. politics really get that Clancy-esque? Even if Hillary had to join in on twisting Obama’s arm to get bin Laden, and even with her and Bill hating Obama’s guts as much as they do, and even with the Clintons’ ultimate political ambition unslaked, and even with the necessity of Hillary’s getting back into the White House to mitigate the effects on the Clinton legacy of the blow job and Bill’s failure to get bin Laden, and even if Hillary feels she is doing all the heavy lifting while Obama is getting all the credit — would she actually pull off a move so gutsy as to diligently gather dirt on him so she could take the Democrat candidacy from him in 2012? I shake my head.
Deep Throat …. Bill Clinton
I think it is mostly Daley’s tale.
So Obama tried to just vote present on the operation and was acting like the worst of the Celebrity Apprentice team leaders? I bet someone kind like Panetta probably *made him* go into the room to hit the table and declare it was a go just so that he could appear to be the decider.
This story smells and is not the least bit believable. Unless someone has the stones to come out and corroborate this story, I’m assuming it’s bunk.
Bunk sent out to get a few conservatives, who would easily believe the unproven story, to paint all conservatives as to-the-bone partisans who can’t just be happy bin Laden’s dead.
I certainly don’t believe or trust this from some anonymous blogger quoting unsourced interviews.
Yeah, it smells.
But it’s all too believable.
And if the lefty meme is, “Obama’s words aren’t believable to Americans — including, “is”, “and”, “but”, “the”, and “meant”…..I’ll own that.
This entire article fits in too nicely with exactly what you so-called conservatives want to hear. It’s nothing more than partisan B.S.
Let me expand upon what others are saying: this is a deliberate misinformative plant. It’s what they call “getting into the enemy’s decision making loop.”
This story fits conservatives impressions of the “real” Obama far too perfectly and neatly. The narrative is so well-flushed out that it must have had sources representing the views of a few other key players than Panetta.
It’s just “too perfect”. When something seems to good to be true, well, it usually is. If one of the stakeholders in that room came out and said this, I’d believe it. But as it stands now, it’s bunk peddled by some lefty operatives/group for purposes we can’t yet discern.
I spend a lot of time (too much, in truth), hoping that Obama will prove enough of a disaster that no one can still deny it, but not such a disaster that he actually wrecks the country. I’m not sure that those two things will, in the end, prove compatible.
I hope to God that this story is not true. If this really is an accurate portrayal of what is going on in this administration behind closed doors, then doomsday fast approaches.
Trouble is that he could wreck the country and 40% of the people out there would still support him. I wouldn’t doubt at least 10% of his supporters voted for him so he would.
Some of the alleged meetings and conversations were surely held in the Oval Office or elsewhere in the White House, which means they should have been recorded by the Congressionally mandated recording system for later transfer to the National Archives. Since that law covers all official communications by the President, I believe it also requires the submission of transcripts of such conversations in venues other than the Oval Office itself.
It’s been evident that Obama has not always cared to follow the provisions of the law (witness his initial strong insistence on keeping his personal Blackberry and also the Beer Summit, which was held outside the Oval Office on the lawn of the White House, well away from the snooping ears of Congress). So, perhaps there is nothing of an official nature to confirm the bold allegations made in this report. Obama’s Presidential records, including contents of any Oval Office recordings, will not be released from the Archives until well after he leaves office. Therefore, I don’t expect to see any details of the conversations the President may have held with his aides and advisers to be revealed until many years from now.
Of course, if the President intentionally subverted the purposes of the system in order to keep his conversations and meetings secret, that presumably would be an impeachable offense, as I recall the Congressional Democrats reminded President Bush when he was in office. The National Archivist has the right to ask whether the appropriate recordings or transcripts were kept as required by law, and, again if I’m not mistaken, has recourse to Congress to force the office of the President to submit such records to the Archives.
One person who may know whether any of these allegations is even remotely true is the White House photographer, since he is almost always present behind the scenes. I seriously doubt that he would ever snitch and I seriously doubt that anyone in Congress would ever dare to question him to reveal what goes on behind closed doors at the White House.
Seriously, folks. Do not hope this story is true. Hope it is flat out false. We’ve got to have a country left to save on inauguration day 2013.
Watch what happens to Mrs. Jarrett: whatever that turns out to be will provide some indication as to whether this insider is real or not.
Unfortunately, it will not spotlight his motives, if he or she is real.
Look up the weather conditions at the time of the first, aborted mission.
Ulsterman, the “inside” leaker has quite a history of releasing information. This was not his/her first release of insider information on the Obama WH.
The only one I’m aware of that they didn’t get right, was a “prediction” (predictions are just predictions) that Pelosi would not be elected minority leader.
It is really hard to fathom the President directing this event over the weekend, while partying the night before and playing golf the same day. So much so, that he had to be interrupted in his game to come back to the whitehouse. Already being reported is that it took him sixteen hours to make a decision.
Two problems with this story, significant problems that can’t be overlooked:
1. Obama’s the President, Panetta isn’t. Panetta can’t overrule Obama in any of this, whether we want to think he did or not. He doesn’t have the authority, whether he has the guts to try or not. If we believe that Obama left Panetta to make the decision, that’s one thing…but Panetta couldn’t insist that the President do something he otherwise wouldn’t have done. Just not possible. And frankly, given what we know of Obama, in an incident like this he’s enough of a control freak and narcissist to insist on the decision being his, and his being informed at every step of the process.
2. As has been commented elsewhere, it’s too good to be true. Especially when something isn’t believable (see above for why) if it’s too good to be true, it probably isn’t true. Bending facts to fit the narrative has always been a hallmark of the left, and the meme that Obama’s indecisive has been floating around the right for awhile now. I’ll agree on some things he’s not particularly insistent and swift in the decision-making process, but come on…he actually did this once before (with the pirates and the captive ship captain, remember?) and it’s no stretch to think he did it this time.
Besides, when someone leaks something like this anonymously, there’s *always* and agenda behind the leak. ALWAYS. I don’t know particularly what it is, but I very rarely trust a story from someone who won’t show their face, regardless of who it’s trashing, Clinton, either Bush, or Obama.
1. According to the report, Panetta “was” put in charge and was the ultimate fall guy – so he was not Overruling but just ‘acting out his own given authority’… but WAY too fast for what Jarrett (at least from content) had figured. The ground game was set up… O giving Panetta the go ahead was done with the idea that it would take longer, much longer and so the opportunity (and the potential fallout) would ‘pass’.
This ‘source’ has been accurate in the past, very accurate. While some will say “this is too good to be true” the alignment of ‘activities’ and ‘times’, people in the ‘same rooms’ and the overall confusion thereafter CERTAINLY lends validity to the theory.
I’ve been reading these “Insider” posts and I can’t recall anything verifiable that he’s said. What turned out to be “accurate”?
Roger is right. WHI has been dead on for many months, particularly wrt Valerie Jarrett.
This quote toward the end of the story suggests to me that it is based on real inside information:
“…This is where Bill Daley intervened directly. The particulars of that intervention are not clear to me beyond knowing he did meet with Jarrett in his office and following that meeting, Valerie Jarrett was not seen in the West Wing for some time, and apparently no longer offered up any resistance to the Osama Bin Laden mission. …”
This is the key step in how the mission got authorized, and it all happens offstage and for unknown reasons. Did Daley know something that allowed him to blackmail Jarrett into backing off? Did Jarrett get told by Daley that he (Daley) would squelch the mission and it would be easier if Jarret was not there? (In that case either Daley lied to her or just plain failed in what he intended.) It’s even possible that in reality Daley had nothing to do with anything and that Obama finally made up his mind and told Jarrett to get lost — which could be taken to mean that, yes, Obama made the go-ahead decision. The whole Daley business sounds like inference on the part of whoever is telling this story, and that inference could be wrong There is absolutely no reason to include these sorts of lame details if someone is making everything up. Treating this as “history”, it’s clear that all the source really knows is that Jarrett stopped coming to the meetings.
This lack of knowledge about what was going on when the final decision was made suggests that the account is based on some sort of inside knowledge. Because the source makes no attempt to point out that he does not know why Jarrett dropped out and let the mission proceed, we also know that the account has been thoroughly slanted to promote its point of view and enhance the source’s “insiderness.”

In post 34, I forgot to delete the last sentence before hitting the “submit comment” button. Sorry.
Neither the Socyberty version nor the official version can be substantiated to the point of irrefutability in the near term. Washington isn’t nearly that pellucid. The problem here is that given what we know about Obama, and given his actions in international affairs to this point, the Socyberty version is at least as credible as the official version…and he has enough political foes even inside his own party to give it “legs.”
It would be best for conservatives to “stand back” from this and await developments.
So far, almost every detail of the official story has been changed, some multiple times.
Of course, this version will never see the like of make believe media day, but it seems to fit what we know of little lenin’s MO far better than the “prime time” version.
Shame on anyone who believes this. It reads like bad fan fiction. If you read other “insider” reports, the insider would have you believe that Pelosi had the goods on Obama but was “gotten to,” that Darrell Issa was about to get the goods on Obama, but was “paid off.”
“Petraeus was threatening to act on his own via a bombing attack.” What? Petraeus was going to bomb Pakistan, a country with nuclear weapons and a nominal “ally” without Presidential authority?
Do you know, anytime I read anything that beings “shame on…” I stop reading? You know why? Because 9 times out of 10, the writer is working from an agenda. And it’s always from the left.
Shame on anyone who believes this. It reads like bad fan fiction. Nominally, it’s a anonymous blogger quoting an anonymous insider with anonymous contacts in the White House. If you read other “insider” reports, the insider would have you believe that Pelosi had the goods on Obama but was “gotten to,” that Darrell Issa was about to get the goods on Obama, but was “paid off.” This “insider” repeats the birther claim that Obama paid millions of dollars to prevent his birth certificate from being released and believes Donald Trump is the most viable Republican challenger.
“Petraeus was threatening to act on his own via a bombing attack.” What? Petraeus was going to bomb Pakistan, a country with nuclear weapons and a nominal “ally” without Presidential authority? Are you kidding me?
This albeit unconfirmed source, plus the unexpected and still-ongoing information fiasco from John Brennan, makes me tend to believe it is true.
The one thing that underlies all this is Obama’s character. Although there have been various attempts to psychoanalyze this president, I don’t think any of it has really gotten through to the average citizen. Most of us have only a hazy intellectual understanding when we’re told about sociopaths or narcissists. Few people have ever really been in contact with one, let alone actually lived with one to understand the true enormity of the associated sickness. I need to tell you here and now that a written, clinical description doesn’t begin to do it justice.
As for me, I have lived with and loved a sociopath. At first, I had no idea what she was, or what she was doing to me. Then months later, I obtained professional help from a doctor who had actually diagnosed her from years earlier. Her sickness made me sick as well. All the while, she was effortlessly able to project to the rest of society that she was normal and everything was fine. To me it was a nightmare, it was like a terrible addictive drug, and it was something that I never could have conceived of before it happened, nor is it anything that I ever want to experience again. I count myself lucky that the first person who I went to for help knew exactly what was happening, and was able to cure me. (Note that it still took a long time, years, to undo the damage).
So here’s the point… if indeed Obama is either a sociopath or a narcissist, then the average joe-on-the-street simply has NO idea, ABSOLUTELY NONE WHATSOEVER, of just how sick this administration really is at its core. As far as I’m concerned, anything is possible. It will be a miracle if this Republic can get through to the next election without something tearing itself apart.
Yes dude you are right Obama is just like your ex-girlfriend. Great story bro.
One simple question…ponder it: Why is obama dressed in a golf shirt on the most important day of his presidency???
IF he knew it was going down or even close, why would he deliberately skip out???
Sad to say, this isn’t the only blog item that mentions the possibility that Panetta gave the order rather than Obama.
Forgive the self-referential link, but I link to another report that pretty much corroborates the one above on my little blog.
So now that’s two reports saying pretty much the same thing…
I should point out, in all fairness and skepticism, that the two different reports may be from the same “insider.”
Ah the good old question-mark-in-title.
Perfect for when you’re intelligent enough to not believe what you’re reporting, but want to give it legs for partisan point scoring anyway.
Here’s a suggestion for your next post “The CIA commands JSOC now?”
Or maybe a hypothetical piece titled “How elite do your special forces need to be before they stop forgetting their own chain of command?”
Oh you funny SEALs, back to basic training for you!
Yea, because obviously from your experience as a Spec-Op, you know that no one moves without double checking the CIC gave the order before they spin-up. And you are critical of this article? Right.

I think there’s very clear reason for you to be very wary of this “Insider.” Something is very “off” here.
I’m no fan of Obama’s, and I could easily imagine the story to be true because it’s what I believe he’s like, how he thinks, and where his loyalties lie. That’s my opinion, which I’m entitled to. I’m not giving a supposedly factual “report.”
Although most of it seems to include statements and writings that at least bear possibility of confirmation … once he/she reports, as fact, what was in someone’s mind, or what they said in a private conversation with the president — which obviously neither of them would disclose, it’s time to be very wary, and puts the entire report into question.
“This was intended as a stalling tactic,” “Jarrett believed” — How could they know these to be facts?
“The president had been instructed by Jarrett…” I doubt Jarrett did this in writing, so we’re talking about a private conversation here.
—-
Complete sentences from the report:
“This was intended as a stalling tactic, and it had originated from Jarrett. Such a campaign would take both time, and present a far greater risk of failure.”
“The president had been instructed by Jarrett to inform Mr., Panetta that he would have sole discretion to act against the Osama Bin Laden compound.
“Jarrett believed this would further delay Panetta from acting, as the responsibility for failure would then fall almost entirely on him.”
When I initially saw the photo, the President’s body language jumped out at me immediately. His body language is dramatically different than anyone else in the room. Also, his placement in the room, off to the side, not on the right or left hand side of the table…the picture adds plausibility to the story… how long before this story comes out in the MSM? lol… NEVER!
“What Valerie Jarrett, and the president, did not know is that Leon Panetta had already initiated a program that reported to him –and only him, involving a covert on the ground attack against the compound.”
Sounds an awful lot like treason to me. The general point that Obama couldn’t make up his mind and so events went on without him is believable. The accusation that there was effectively a palace coup is not.
Isn’t it normal to anticipate and prepare for the future?
Hmmmm….I link to this story in a comment wondering if this is true to Radosh’s story and my comment is censored and not posted. But Mr. Simon posts a link with rougly the same sentiment as mine. Thanks for confirming my thoughts Mr. Simon. Now, please have a talk with your censors.
Why are some people so quick to cry “censorship!”?
Is it possible you aren’t aware the frequency with which blog comments get lost through no human agency at all?
John.in.Georgia, we looked around and couldn’t find your comment. Wasn’t even in our spam folder. You are more than welcome to repost. Cheers, Roger
“Wrong at the White House…” The old adage goes that “if you lie, you have to lie 1000 times to cover it up” and that would certainly fit the song and dance(s) coming from the WH and Press Sec.
After reading the article I would have to say that “everything lines up” and fits to a tee the persona of a ‘weak’ and ‘manipulated’ puppet. Certainly the batting average of the reporter is pretty good and the specifics, right down to the ‘papers’ to read (from) not being present going in BUT being present coming out (small details but seemingly very telling)…
And yes, the ‘body language’, the guy sitting in the corner in hte pic with his gold shirt on and a rather confused look, Oh, yeah, he is the President. He looks more like someone who should be serving coffee – meek, no real fact based opinions… flows with the wind (or Soros)…
I ‘think’ I believe the article… and we may never know for sure but when “outside” facts (times and people) line up with the suggested report then it certainly adds credibility.
Boobily dithers. imagine that.
WOW.
Much as I oppose Mr. Obama, I was happy that he had for once done the right thing. If this story from Socyberty is true and complete, it is a huge disaster for us. I cannot stand the faculty politics syle of Mr. Obama, but I wish this kind of coups on no man.
If BHO was so completely pwn’d by Valerie Jarrett, it means total collapse of command.
But wait, there’s still more: NOW it looks like his daddy is Mayor Daley, who obviously can overrule Jarrett and force BHO into the proverbial woodshed.
And they complained about Ronald Reagan being a puppet!
The only thing more stupid than this bizarre conspiracy theory is the morons willing to believe it, perhaps because they are so uncharitable and pig-headed about their suspicions re: Obama that they are literally willing to believe anything bad about him. Get therapy, people. You are deranged.
Yes they are deranged. Highly deranged. How many thousands of hours do you people waste among yourselves trying to come up with anything to make Obama look bad? You birthers are nothing more than contamination in the gene pool. Anyone dumb enough to believe any of the blog please PLEASE go stick your head in a food processor set to high. Maybe when the blades cut through your mushy skulls the air bubbles between your ears will pop and you’ll finally be at peace with the world.
Several options regarding this story, from purposes to source:
1. Complete fabrication from a true conservative.
2. Complete fabrication/false flag
3. Mostly fiction with enough verifiable facts (weather, timing, golfing) to create plausibility. Could be legit or false flag.
4. A senior official who is happy to be employed at the WH but not happy with his/her employers.
5. A mid-level official in the WH with wide mid-level contacts, also disappointed in BHO
6. Mid-to-upper level official at State, CIA, NSC or DoD who visits the WH and remains in contact with people who listen to the goings-on. This would give them perspective on some things and gossip on others.
7. NSA knows all and sees all, and occasionally blogs.
Really, there’s not enough information at this point to tell. The gossipy aspect of “Jarrett thought”-type statements seems novel-esque, for sure, but it also is they way a bit player in the event would describe pieced-together watercooler scuttlebutt. Nobody is privy to all those details but a good social engineer can gain all that information from other hubs in the informal info network. It becomes a type of meta-analysis where the variable nature of different sources can result in meaningful error, and for that reason the part that sounds “off” to me is less the events themselves than the authoritative tone. The crack about Petraeus threatening to launch an attack on his own is a little fantastical but is reported with a straight face.
Overall, this sounds like someone with some parts of the puzzle who pieced a scenario together and spackled over the parts that are gossip with the same tone used to describe the things they actually knew. Those things may be nothing more than names, dates and places rather than motivations and thoughts.
I will say that Jarrett being frozen out and pissed about it might explain the waffling over the pictures. Panetta won the first round, the op went off and Obama looks good. Panetta wants the photo released, Jarrett doesn’t for whatever reason (legitimate concern, spite), Obama follows the conciliatory pattern described last week by Walter Russell Mead and lets Jarrett “win one”. The photo and video are spiked — although media now reports that Clinton and Gates are against releasing and the mollify-Jarrett angle may be as fictional as the original article.
Some insider books in the next few years may tell the story, we’ll just have to see.
This is what “journalism” has sunk to? The reposting and linking to completely anonymous posts on an unknown website citing an unnamed source loaded with factually questionable content (the repeated references to things that were supposedly said in private conversations between, e.g., Obama and Dailey)? Pathetic.
Obambecile.
By the way, this guy Ulsterman has a long history of making up sources (see here: http://ulster-man.blogspot.com/). Wishful thinking by Obama-haters still isn’t enough to turn fiction into non-fiction.
I haven’t double-checked all the claims at that blog, but at first glance it sure doesn’t look good for Ulsterman.
Wait? This doesn’t sound right at all. This is the way I envisioned it: Upon hearing that Osama was kicking it in a compound in Abottabad Obama pointed to the heavens and proclaimed, “I am the one we have been waiting for!” Then, he ripped open his shirt to reveal his Obama-man suit and flew out of the window of the White House. He blazed around the world at supersonic speeds all the way to Afghanistan where he flew his fist straight into Osama’s forehead and ejected his brains out the back of his head. Then, he snatched up the body, flew out over the Indian ocean, and drop kicked the body into the water. Way to go Obama-man! Then he used his radiant power of his amazing smile to immolate Osama’s couriers. But a helicopter accidentally flew through the smile beam and crashed into the compound. Heh, even Obama-man can’t be 100% perfect. =/
Can someone tell me precisely what Valerie Jarrett’s background suits her to be a presidential military advisor? Isn’t she a realtor, or something? I mean, WTF is right? Why is she involved in this stuff at all? Is she Obama’s mother-substitute?
A quote from an earlier article by Ulsterman is consistent with this story and gives it even more credibility: “…[Jarret has] pissed off the military – oh that’s another story I’ll have to share with you soon. That one is still playing out right before our eyes though, so we gotta let that one turn out first. She’s gonna get burned on that too.”
Note that it was published on 28 April: http://newsflavor.com/politics/us-politics/white-house-insider-obamas-west-wing-civil-war/
Obviously Insider is actually Hillary. Too funny.
Insider is Bill Clinton. Has ear to the throne, has the stones, has the motif and has get out of jail free card – former president.
Here’s another piece of the official narrative that doesn’t pass the smell test but fits in nicely with the Insider’s account.
It is 233 miles straight line distance from Bagram AFB to the Abbottabad compound. We know that one of the helicopters used was a Chinook, probably a MH-47. The cruise speed of a Chinook is about 150 MPH and the service ceiling is about 10,000 ft. However, helicopters probably couldn’t fly in a straight line because of mountains higher than the service ceiling. Let’s assume it took about 2 hours to get to the target.
The raid was said to occur at 3:30 PM EDT. That means the copters had to leave Bagram at about 1:30 PM. At that time however, Obama was on the golf course at Andrews AFB and didn’t get back to the White House until 2:04 PM. So at the time the most important military mission of Obama’s tenure is taking off, he’s putting on the ninth hole? WTF?
This does fit into Insiders account that Obama wasn’t told until the mission was under way.
Source for the golf timeline:
http://www.whitehousedossier.com/2011/05/01/obama-golfs-weekend-row/
“The president left the White House to play golf at 9:42 am, arriving at the Andrews Air Force Base course about 25 minutes later, according to the press pool report. He then ended his game after nine holes at 1:39 pm and made it back to the White House at 2:04 pm, about two hours before the attack on Bin Laden appears to have occurred.”
Yup…
Seriously, is there not even one DC reporter interested in the fact that O might have been on a golf course when the birds were in the air and minutes from the actual assault?
No clarification on the May 1st timeline whatsoever?
God help us.
Going by the White House Press corps timeline of Obamas day on sunday he left the golfcourse at 2:04pm DC time, The Helicopters were at Osamas hideout at $:10 DC time…… Got that?
The helilocopters used in the mission was a secret stealth version of the MH-60 Black Hawk. Seen for the 1st time in this mission. The Blackhawk has a top speed of 183mph withouth all the stealth stuff added to it. They first took Osamas’ body back to Kandahar Air Base in Afganistan where the mission started. Kandahar is 470 miles from Abbottabad, that’s just city limits to city limits distance. So the flight time was ATLEAST 2.5 hours. Obama was on the golf course when the Helicopters took off to start the mission. When he got to the white house the mission had already be going on in the air for 45 minutes……

Seems to me that we ‘NOW’ have one very
frightened man in ‘..our..’ Whitehouse.
So the BIG LIE BEGINS ANEW: This account is an outright fabricated lie. (Worthy of the Nasty Criminal Nazi Joseph Goebbels who said: “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”).
Rational and inform people know only the President can issues and authorize such capture and kill orders. Anyone familiar with our military chain of command and our National Security Structure would realize this. If this mission failed…only President Obama would be blamed. Leon Pannetta is not a part of the National Command Authority, which consist of the President and Mr. Robert Gates, the SECDEF. Therefore, Mr. Pannetta is not authorized to use our military forces. Also, the President had much to lose if this mission failed…so he wouldn’t delegate it to a subordinate. The crazy right would have had a field day if this mission had failed. Also, Ms. Jarrett is not apart of the National Security Council…therefore she has no role in this affair.
Many on the right are sounding more and more delusional as each day passes. There is so much blind hatred for President Obama that I am truly turned off and will not vote Republican ever again…this of all of their lies tops the cake. President Obama is a great American. He proves it each and every day. He accomplished what Bush could not and would not do (go check the record). He captured and killed the notorious Osama Bin Laden. This is a great day for America. I am grateful to the President, the Intel Community and our military for this significant achievement. God Bless America, The President and those who serve our nation in the military and the intelligence community.
Whether your post is true or false, one thing is clear: If you really think anyone will believe what you have written, you are a fool. Honestly? You “will not vote Republican ever again”? It is obvious that you never have voted Republican. Go post on some other site, where people might be stupid enough to believe you.
