Les précieuses ridicules

April 27, 2006 - 7:19 am - by Roger L Simon

EU Referendum (via PJM) accuses Sweden of being “precious” in announcing its withdrawal from European military exercises due to be held next month in Italy because of Israel’s participation, but I think it’s a bit more than that. The Scandinavian country has a “mixed record” these days where the Jewish state is concerned. Of course, as EU Referendum points out, the Swedes seem quite willing to make deals with the Israelis when it comes to buying military equipment. But, as we know, “balance” must be maintained between the parties in the peace process. In that case, perhaps they would like to make a donation to fill this short fall.

Sweden not participating in the exercises seemed real drastic. I mean, are they THAT anti-semetic? Well, naturally, my next question is, why? Then, the next question, naturally, is, hmmm, what’s their muslim immigration like?

    Roger:
Sweden has made a choice. Ignore the totured explanations and excuses. Given a choice between the government of Israel and the government of Palestine they choose Hamas. Of course they will trade with Israel if the quality and the price is right but on an international level they see Israel as the problem. This is why they will invent illogical explanations for their efforts to isolate Israel and thats why they will ignore the openly stated call by Hamas for the destruction of Israel.Sweden likes to portray itself as a peace loving country but it has no problem embracing Hamas. The violent actions of Hamas must be ignored for the sake of positive engagement. Israel must be isolated for their reactions to the rockets and suicide bombings.

Swedish law during WW2 mimicked those of Nazi Germany. Their anti-Jewish legislation was just as tough.

That the Swedes take a holier than thoug attitude towards the Jewish State doesn’t suprise me at all.

Hypocrisy one feel was born in Sweden.

Hypocrisy, thy name is Sweden; and France; and Germany; and the entire EU; and especially the current political climate everywhere.
