What more can be said? Are mere words sufficient? By now we know that Jew haters are never deterred by facts—only by force. We also know that the Arab-Muslim world has brainwashed its citizens and the world with a steady stream of blood libels against Jews and Israel. The United Nations, international human rights organizations, the world media, and the world’s so-called intelligentsia have all piled on, as have President Obama and his carefully chosen advisors. Obama, who bowed to the Saudi King, and who publicly shamed the Israeli Prime Minister, has also, for the first time, decided to sell no bunker buster bombs to Israel and to manufacture a sham crisis over Israel building apartments in north Jerusalem — all in order to “impose” a solution (hopefully not another Final Solution) on Jewish Israel.

The Man wants to show the world he’s “tough” where the Jews are concerned so that it will not notice how “weak” he is in terms of confronting Iran’s Ahmadinejad, Afghanistan’s Hamid Karzai, North Korea’s Kim Jong-il, Sudan’s Omar Hassan al-Bashir, etc. But many see that Obama is “weak,” beginning with the very Arab and Muslim countries he most wishes to impress.

If this were not sorrow enough, our cup runneth over because we also know that some Jew-haters and Israel demonizers are themselves Jews. Their names are legion. We also know that most American Jewish leaders have left a great deal to be desired.

America is rapidly changing in terms of its relationship to Israel and to Islamism. My passport is ready, near my bedside. Others are worried, just as I am. For example, read Daniel Greenfield at SultanKnish, Marc Prowisor at Yesha News, and Ed Koch at the Huffington Post. Just last night a friend who has lived in North Africa, Israel, Europe, and the United States suggested that we might slip away to Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, maybe Costa Rica because “war is here, war is everywhere, but what jihadist group is going to target such countries”?

Jews cry: “Never again.” Jews cry: “No more will we be silent.” In memory of the six million who perished in the Holocaust because most American Jews were more concerned with their own survival than with that of their endangered brethren—and because they were misled by most of their Jewish leaders and by the Court Jews of the day; and in memory of all those Israeli civilians and soldiers who have fallen since the state of Israel was created, I will now endanger myself further and begin “naming” some names. It is the very least I can do.

In early 2004, eight months after my book The New Anti-Semitism was published, I wrote that, in a sense, a new Holocaust had already begun in Israel.

At the time, the leaders of the major American Jewish organizations paid absolutely no attention to what I’d written—or, when we found ourselves on a panel, actually mocked me as “the Jewish Cassandra.” Ken Jacobson of the ADL did so at a panel at Columbia. I hope I am no Cassandra; no one listened to the Trojan princess who bore that name and Troy went down in flames. From the beginning of the Intifada of 2000, well-heeled professional American Jews in handsome three piece suits, herd-animals, self-important cowards, continued to deny and minimize the danger and to assure their funders that the alarmists were wrong, that they—the men in the suits–had it “all under control.” How could it be otherwise? They were dining with Arab oil Sheiks and attending interfaith conferences at five star hotels. They were okay—it must mean that the rest of us were okay too.

Back in the fall of 2003, Abe Foxman of the ADL finally published his book about anti-Semitism; the book saw little danger emanating from the Islamic and Islamist world. To Foxman, the Christian right wing still remained the major threat. In 2003, when Congressman Tom Lantos wanted to create a U.S. government Office to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism, I was told, repeatedly, that Foxman was trying to block this effort. Perhaps my information is incorrect, but I doubt it. Of course, my sources will not go on record because Foxman wields far too much power. In 2004, when Lantos’ Office was, nevertheless, created, Foxman immediately issued a press release “welcoming” the government’s move and appearing to take some credit for it too. In 2004, Foxman raised holy hell about Mel Gibson’s film The Passion of the Christ. First, he saw Gibson as “anti-Semitic,” saw the film itself as either “anti-Semitic,” or not “anti-Semitic” but “painful.” Foxman feared it could “fuel latent anti-Semitism.” Of course, no Christians have perpetrated pogroms against Jews. However, during this time, Muslim Islamists have perpetrated countless barbarous pogroms against Christians and Jews in the Middle East and in the Muslim world.

Every so often, Foxman will issue a press release about “Islamic extremism,” but really taking it on would offend his largely liberal Jewish base and so he comments on specific incidents but has not launched a campaign of any kind against Islamism. Or against radical jihad. Nor has he conducted a campaign to condemn “Islamophobia” as a false concept. On the contrary, Foxman has seen “Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, and Christianphobia” as similar and related realities.

They are not. And, when someone serious actually tries to wrestle with the growing danger of Islamism/political Islam, Foxman goes out of his way to attack that person. I am thinking here of Foxman’s 2009 condemnation of Wilders, a principled man who is under siege for his views.

Now, in 2010, nearly ten years after the Al-Aqsa Intifada began, after so many chickens have come home to roost—after all the Jewish liberals have voted for Obama and continue to work or stand by their man, Foxman has, for the first time, called for a Jewish march on Washington to demonstrate support for the state of Israel.

I’m glad Foxman has finally seen the need for such a march—although it’s rather late in the day.

“We also know that the Arab-Muslim world has brainwashed its citizens and the world with a steady stream of blood libels against Jews and Israel.”

And these libels are showing up more and more in the USA, or at least on comments sections of USA web sites and media. All you have to do is look at many of the comments at Huffington in response to Ed Koch’s article, or on Politico. the NY Times web site, or any number of others.

” LOS ANGELES, CA, December 12, 2001…The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) commends the FBI for its diligence in thwarting alleged bombing attacks planned by members of the Jewish Defense League. For more than a quarter of a century, ADL has been monitoring the contemptible activities of the JDL and its leadership.

David A. Lehrer, ADL Regional Director, issued the following statement:

If the current allegations about the JDL are true, ADL abhors and condemns this potential terrorist plot to attack members of the Los Angeles community. This incident is one more example of how organizations expressing hatred often turn to violence. We praise the diligent work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Attorney’s Office that led to the arrest. We have full confidence that this case will be thoroughly investigated and the perpetrators brought to justice.

The Jewish Defense League, also known as JDL, was established in 1968 for the declared purpose of protecting Jews by whatever means necessary in the face of what was seen by the group’s principals as their dire peril. The founder, national chairman and leader of JDL was a then-38-year-old ordained rabbi from Brooklyn, New York, Meir Kahane, who, in 1990, was assassinated in New York by an Arab extremist.

In Rabbi Kahane’s gross distortion of the position of Jews in America, American Jews were living in a fiercely hostile society, facing much of the same dangers as the Jews in Nazi Germany or those in Israel surrounded by 100-million Arab enemies. Rabbi Kahane believed that the major Jewish organizations in the United States had failed to protect America’s Jews from anti-Semitism, which he saw as “exploding” all over the country. “If I have succeeded in instilling fear in you,” Rabbi Kahane said in the closing statement of his standard speech, “I consider this evening a success.”

Kahane’s attitudes were replicated in Southern California by his successor as National Chairman of the JDL, Irv Rubin. He has a long track record of intimidation and bullying tactics.

The Anti-Defamation League, founded in 1913, is the world’s leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services that counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry. “

Support for democracy and Israel can be heard daily on the Mark Levin show at Marklevinshow.com (all past shows are available to listen to for free) or live streaming M-F at 6 o’clock eastern. He will buck up anybody on either side of the Atlantic.

  2. 2. Ken Besig Israel

First of all, in order to impose a settlement on Israel, Mr. Obama must impose the same settlement on the Palestinians.
Secondly, any settlement imposed must at least look fair, no matter how biased towards the Palestinians it would be, there would have to be something in it for Israel. It might be Palestinian recognition of Israel as a Jewish State, or Palestinian recognition of Israel’s legitimacy in the Middle East, or a declaration that the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians is over for good, and no more demands of any kind, financial, refugee, or humanitarian will be allowed by either side. These are conditions that no Palestinian will ever accept, not now, not ever.
Finally, there is no way on this planet that the Palestinians will ever accept a settlement with Israel, imposed or otherwise, that does not include the destruction of Israel, the extermination of Israel’s Jews, and the replacement of Israel with the State of Palestinian.
We work ourselves into a lather over a problem that doesn’t even exist, the possibility of an American imposed settlement.
Every expert and non expert by now knows for a fact that the Palestinians have only one goal, one settlement, one agreement in mind and that is no more and no less than Israel’s destruction, period.
Israel has nothing to fear from an imposed settlement.
The fact that this is the sort of thinking dominating the Obama administration is further testimony to Obamas inept, uninformed, inexperienced, and just silly approach to foreign affairs in general, the Middle East, and the Israeli Palestinian problem. Worse, his advisors are no better.

I hate to say this,Mr. Besig, the only thing I see from all of this is a mushroom cloud rising over Tel-Aviv…The headlines that will come from Europe will be ,”Well, it was only the Jews…No big deal…At least this time, it did not happen in our back yard”….Shame..Such a shame…

      • PerryB

        Correction: The headlines will read:
“The arrogant Jews brought it on themselves; their ‘chickens coming home to roost’ “.

        • Granny3

Are you insane? The Jewish people only want to be SAFE to rear their children and hold jobs and go out without fear. Christians all over the world are uniting to protect Israel and the Jews. We have not forgotten Hitler and his terrible cohorts. This must NEVER happen again. And a prejudiced remark like that just shows your ignorance and immaturity.

          • Becky

Granny, I suspect that Perry B’s comment is not bigotr on his part but a reference to Obama’s spiritual advisor of decades, Reverend Wright, who is a very vocal anti-Semite who has said, God Bless American, no, G** Dam* America, and American’s chicken’s have come home to roost.

        • Bob From District 9

“The world chose not to stop the Islamist terrorism against Israeli civilians and, in so doing, has now reaped the whirlwind of similar Islamist and jihadist homicide bombers. This comeuppance gives me no pleasure.”

That is what he just said about the world. Which also applies to the US. He said, Our chickens came home to roost. The words are not exactly the same, but the meaning is.

On 9-11 we, according to your thinking, reaped the whirlwind.

Or, as the saying goes, “What goes around comes around”.

        • PerryB,

The arrogant Jews are the liberals. The left is having its day right now in the US but it won’t last. When the right-wing backlash comes, guess who will be first on their “To-do List” ? That’s right, the liberal Jews. Just like in Germany. That’s why the liberal Jews (not the conservatives) are the arrogant ones.

          All the best,

          Rafi Schutzer

    • Robert D'Agostino

The imposed “solution” favored by Obama is the one state solution. Israel must recognize the “right of return.’ Parse carefully what Obama has done and said since he became president-Israel is to be thrown under the bus.

  3. 3. Ruvy

    Dr. Chesler,

I put my faith in G-d. And my faith tells me that a door is being closed – on the door of “Judaism” – and a new door is just cracking open – the “Faith of the Children of Israel”.

It is time to stop talking to the goyim, to say goodbye to the Galút and to the Jews too stupid or too stubborn to leave it, and to open our hearts and our souls to welcoming our Pashtun brothers, and other far flung Children of Israel around the planet to the home they will seek to return to.

Netanyahu represents the dying “Zionist” establishment of those who deny G-d. He will only lead Israel to disaster. Others, both in the Likud and without, will lead us in Faith to paradigm changing ways of looking at things that seem impossible right now.

I know that kind of stuff is not popular on an American “conservative” political site. If the moderators here don’t like that point of view, they can squelch it. That is up to them.

But the truth will out, nevertheless.

    • Diane

      Ruvy,
      Please explain the Pushtun comment.

      • birdalone

The Pashtun of Afghanistan once believed (at least until Olaf Caroe wrote his anthropological study “The Pathans, first published in 1957) they were descended from a tribe of Israelites. Wiki has an entry on it. However, the Pashtuns have been Muslims I think since at least the 12th century. And it was an eastern pashtun tribe that developed the precursor to Wahhabism in the 18th century, in reaction to a Mughal emperor they thought was unpious.

        • miguelj

The Pashtuns are not just Muslims–they are the backbone of the Taliban.
Hoping that they will become Zionists is truly unhinged.

          • JFM

Believe it or not some Pashtuns like to play with the idea that Pashtuns (or at least some tribes) descend from Jews who walked East after being liberated from Babylonian captivity. Of course it pisses ultra-Muslim Pashtuns to no end. However, even if they are a minority there are Pashtuns who see Islam as an instrument of foreign domination ad who question why poor countries like Afghanistan should spend a substantial share of their GNP on the pilgrimage in order for through the outrageous prices at the Maccah region lmake Saudis richer. Mmany more, perhaps a majority, believe that Pashtuns are better than Arabs and that if they had decided to resist islamization the Arab invaders wouldn’t have made ten miles in Afghanistan.

          • Ruvy

So many experts on the Pashtun have popped up in 24 hours! Such erudition! Such wisdom!

I suggest you read what Pashtuns themselves have to say. That is what I do. For millennia, they have known themselves to be descendants of Children of Israel expelled from here by the Assyrians. Over the last 30 years Wahhabi-influenced madrassas sprung up (with American encouragement and Saudi money) to turn the Pashtun into willing tools to fight the Soviets. This is how and why the Taliban developed.

But now the Pashtun see themselves as being used by the Punjabi generals in Pakistan, while they are attacked by the Americans. They die so that others might achieve goals on their blood. And they don’t like it one bit. They are beginning to turn on the Taliban, and they want no foreign interference in their homes. They are tired of dying for the sake of foreigners.

And now, some of their Jewish brothers have the brains to reach out to them in friendship and brotherhood.

And that is the point. The Taliban is a weak movement that is only 30 years old. How much influence to you think it has on people who know they are ancient Israelites, who have a code, the Pashtunwali, over 2 millennia old, based on the Torah?

It is time to stop talking to the goyim

Though you’re as personally offensive as Foxman, speaking as a “goyim”, more specifically an Evangelical Christian, I will continue to support Israel and you – even when you spit my way.

It won’t be out of my love or admiration for you. But it will be out of obedience to my God – and yours.

      • Urth1

Thanks Tex. I’m a Jew. My regards and respect to you for expressing yourself and speaking for me as well. I can’t stand the offensive self-appointed self-important ignorant very backward and outdated Foxman. I’m bothered to no end by Foxman’s assumption that he has some legitimacy as a spokesman. I’m very glad that you’re a better man than Ruvy; although Ruvy seems to be some sort of a troll or a nut, I’m not sure which.

      • Menachem Ben Yakov

Tex, Consider the source before you get offended. Believe me Evangelical support for Israel is a light in the darkness. Keep up the good work and thanks for the support.

        • Tex Taylor

          Menachem Ben Yakov and Urth1,

I’ve met many of the Ruvy type before, even appreciating to a degree the suspicion. No offense was taken.

I think many Jews either have little exposure, or have been misled by an ignorant media into believing Evangelicals, Catholic and Protestant, are the yahoos of the American demographic. They like to picture and advertise us as a bunch of uneducated Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson rubes, or worse. Truth be known, Falwell was and Robertson is but small, bit player, not entirely representative of the largest part of Evangelical community.

What many Jews may not understand is twofold:

          (1) Don’t buy the argument, for example, that Methodists and Presbyterians are for the most part tacit Jew haters. They are not. In each of the two denominations, there is an internal war currently being waged, similar to the debate between secular and religious Jews. The sides are diametrically opposed concerning all issues of real importance.

          (2) Don’t believe the facade from the MSM that Evangelicals are poor, uneducated rubes. Nothing could be further from the truth. My own church mostly made up of educated professionals, and we our devout in our support of Israel’s right of sovereignty, and the fact Jerusalem is the property of the Jews – all of it. There is no dispute.

Perhaps more importantly to your immediate concerns, a disproportionate share of the U.S. military is also Evangelical, many of them our sons and daughters.

I don’t know how it will play out in America, or even what part we may play in the defense of Israel, but I can’t believe that millions of us Evangelicals are just going to sit around our American living rooms (and millions of others around the world) watching Israeli Jews brutalized and bullied on FOX News. That is certainly not we are taught in our homes and in our churches. That legacy has carried forward and been taught to our children.

Right now, most American Evangelicals limit ourselves to our vote, teaching our children, and defending the truth. We believe in abiding by government as we believe God ordains all governments, for good and for evil. But someday, God may call us to further action.

But whether God calls America to action or not, Israel will continue to exist even if the entire world is to turn against her. And those that are foolishness enough to do so will be destroyed – and title of President will not be excluded.

      • Ruvy

        Tex,

You make a number of assumptions in your statements.

Too often, Jews seek validation from you non-Jews. They waste millions of hours and dollars on inter-faith nonsense that are not worth the time or the money. They don’t do this because they love you – they do this because they want you to love them!

We don’t need your validation. If you support Israel and stand against Jew-hatred, G-d will bless you. If you do the opposite, G-d will curse you. You know that. End of discussion. There is nothing to discuss.

WE JEWS have to stop talking to you to get you to like us. WE have to believe that if you support Israel and stand against Jew-hatred, G-d will bless you, and concomitantly, if you do the opposite, G-d will curse you. OUR job is to firm up our own faith so that we can reach out to the 40 million or more OTHER Children of Israel and help them come home over time. OUR job is to start putting our faith in G-d – and withdrawing all faith from goyisher princes. G-d will grant victories that look impossible today. You may admire us – or not. But YOU will not grant those victories; YOU will not bring Redemption.

My words have nothing to do with hatred or suspicion. They have everything to do with not wasting our time on foolishness. There is a big difference. I’m glad that some non-Jews support us. It gets lonely. But our job is to concentrate on our faith, and how we overcome the barriers of bringing home the OTHER Children of Israel, and how we get those millions of JINO’s in the States of our backs and out of our hair and lives.

If in the process, some of those JINO’s come home, both to Israel and to the Faith, wonderful. The door remains open. But they are now more of a problem than anything else. We need fine people like Dr. Chesler Carol Gould to come HOME, instead of wasting time in exile.

        • Ruvy

That ought to have read, “We need fine people like Dr. Chesler AND Carol Gould to come HOME, instead of wasting time in exile.”

          Errata corrected…

        • Tex Taylor

          Ruvy,

I think it is you that has made some really poor assumptions.

First, I talk to very few Jews, and when I do it is not with the intent or desire to create some mutual approval or respect. Don’t flatter yourself.

Second, as I stated in my very first post directed only to you, I’m not validating you, as you are not worthy of validation. I think you are a fool and a disgrace. Your posts show a glaring ignorance. I would wager you an embarrassment to most Jews. Fortunately, I have met few Jews like you. Again, I lend my support to Israel because my God commands me to provide that support. He does not command me to kiss your a** or grovel. I hope I have removed that obvious misconception.

Second, your reading comprehension is less than stellar. I wrote an entire “sermon” above that Israel does not need my help, nor any “goyim”. This lack of comprehension on your part demonstrates either you’re not terribly bright, or don’t seek the truth and are simply interested in playing miserable victim while stoking hatred. This serves no useful purpose. Enough said.

Now if God happens to use me as resource in defense of Israel, then I am a willing subject. If not, then I will teach my grandchildren as I did my children to love Israel as I was taught. But don’t ever think you personally play any part in my willingness, other than your good fortune of being a legacy to more worthy people and the True Living God.

          • Ruvy

            Mr. Taylor,

I apologize for having wasted the time responding to you. I have learnt my lesson, and shall not waste any further of my time.

My recommendation to Dr. Chesler and my fellow Jews stands.

            STOP TALKING TO THE GOYIM.

  4. “Why do the nations so furiously rage together? Why do the poeple conspire against the Lord?” This has been going on for thousands of years, and will continue so until the end times. I am a protestant and I say: God bless Israel, and stand by it against its enemies.

  5. “I am sure that if Foxman views it as profitable and fashionable to embrace such a vision, he will pretend that it was his idea all along, buy up some of the grassroots activists, and continue to—make no difference.”

    Yes, it does.

Happy as I would be to see Foxman taking reasonable steps now, if I could believe it, why would anyone believe that someone with his track record won’t exploit, then undermine, both the goodwill and the message arising from such an event? Look at his long history in the questionable arenas of opposition research and hate crime activism. Who has benefited from that? Who has been labeled, accused, and suppressed? Which political messages have been targeted?

Why trust him? He is no mere practitioner of the act of labeling political opponents Islamophobic (or prejudiced in other ways): he is one of the prime movers who institutionalized these accusations into our system of justice. How do you get beyond that?

    • David Thomson

Abe Foxman has done enormous damage. It is very fair to assert that the ADL has unwittingly caused far more harm than good in recent years. These people have been lying to themselves. Advancing the cause of secular liberalism has been their real agenda. Defending the rights of American Jews has ranked a distant second in their set of priorities. I will pretend that I am a second rate Peter Drucker imitator and advise contributors to close their wallets. An organization so existentially committed to leftism is not likely to reverse course. Let it go bankrupt.

  6. 6. ahem

Dr. Chesler: I was aghast at the response from the HuffPo crowd this morning to Abe Koch’s article; it was the hard left turning against someone I would consider to be an old-fashioned liberal. I expected to see more defenders for him–but no.

Now that Obama’s shown his hand on Israel, it is acceptable for the mindless marxist herd who loves him to be openly anti-semitic. What did we expect? We can see the same thing happening in Europe, with increasing intensity. It’s probably a combination of deep fear of radical Islam and marxist propaganda.

It is a tragedy that so many Jews–among them, friends–have bought the party line. What in the hell are they thinking? Do they honestly believe they will escape responsibility, if it comes to that?

You’re right: now is that time for people of good will to step up in common cause.

Ruvy: You straight jacket appears to be tied a little tight today. I’ll send the nurse in.

    • Ruvy

Ruvy: You straight jacket blah blah blah

      Ahem;

You can can the “straitjacket” remarks. You haven’t a clue as to the realities both here in the Middle East, or the realities as they deal with an entity you would be wise to familiarize yourself with – the Children of Israel.

The day of the “people of good will” is just about over. They have left more than 86 million people dead in conflicts and genocides since WWII. They didn’t have the guts to recognize or stand up to the many forces of evil who brought about all that bloodshed. The road to hell has been paved with the good intentions of “the people of good will”. Now, it is up to us believers to start making a difference. The hour is late; the shadows are beginning to fall. The night of the long knives approaches.

      • ahem

Look, Ruvy: Perhaps we got off on the wrong foot. I know it’s as bad as you suggest–humans can be incredible cowards–but I also know that, despite your misgivings, a great many Americans are ready to support Israel; goodness and valor exists, too. Your pessimism sounds extreme to me. I’m a believer, myself. I guess we’re getting an opportunity to find out if our belief means anything.

      • myth buster

Glad you realize that the Day of the Lord is close at hand. Now fess up to the fact that you aren’t a believer. You are an apostate. The whole point of the Diaspora was to shame the Children of Israel into repentance for their apostasy and denial of the Word of the Lord. Don’t believe me? Why don’t you listen to Moses then? Deuteronomy 32 is the summary of the history of Israel, from the end of the Exodus to the Day of the Lord. If your ancestors had heard the Lord when He came, and answered when He called (Isaiah 50:2), He surely would not have exiled them from the land of their fathers. Yet, even as He calls you back, you persist in the same apostasy, the same sin of self-righteousness as your ancestors. As the Lord lives, who brought the Children of Israel out of the North Country and all the nations they have been scattered to, I testify that even among the Jews who have heeded the command to return home, apostasy is still rampant among them. Repent, oh Israel! Turn your hearts toward the One who will wipe away your ungodliness! The Lord’s Salvation is right in front of you, if you would only heed the words of the prophets! Call on Him, and beg His mercy, and He will take you back.

    • ahad ha'amoratsim

“Now that Obama’s shown his hand on Israel, it is acceptable for the mindless marxist herd who loves him to be openly anti-semitic. What did we expect? We can see the same thing happening in Europe, with increasing intensity.”

What else can we expect after we saw them do the same thing to Joe Lieberman when he became inconvenient? The disgusting invective aimed at Mr. Koch looks tame by comparison.

  7. 7. Linda Rivera

From the beginning, it was always known and understood by the US/EU/UK/UN EXACTLY what the murderous peace was: In 1980, PLO Leader Arafat declared, “Peace for us means the destruction of Israel . We are preparing for an all-out war, a war which will last for generations.”

The PLO Charter calls for the destruction of Israel.

On the same day Oslo “Peace” Accords were signed in 1993, savage PLO leader, Arafat stated: “Since we cannot defeat Israel in war we do this in stages. We take any and every territory that we can of Palestine, and establish sovereignty there and we use it as a springboard to take more. When the time comes, we can get the Arab nations to join us for the final blow against Israel.”

The Arab League’s Charter states its goal is to eradicate the Zionist entity.

It is obvious even to a child, that for many years, the US/EU/UK are seeking a Second Holocaust and the means to accomplish this evil goal is a Muslim terror state implant in Israel that will reduce the vulnerable little Jewish state at mid-section to INDEFENSIBLE, 9 miles wide Auschwitz borders.

Under no circumstances must Israel ever surrender Judea and Samaria to barbaric, implacable enemies. I don’t see how any Jews can survive if this surrender, G-d forbid, takes place.

    • David W. Lincoln

Israel made the desert bloom by washing the salt out of the desert. A similar strategy has to be employed to wash the poison out of Araby, because their leaders have chosen to follow Amalek.

Now, there are Arabs who see what is wrong with being the spiritual descendants of Amalek, and they are the partners which Israel deserves.

Therefore, their numbers must increase, whether it is by the numbers of Amalekites decreasing, or any other means.

Israel tells its citizens to get out of Sinai now

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100413/ap_on_re_mi_ea/ml_israel_egypt

JERUSALEM – Israel issued an “urgent” warning Tuesday to its citizens to leave Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula immediately citing “concrete evidence of an expected terrorist attempt to kidnap Israelis in Sinai.” The statement from the Israeli prime minister’s anti-terror office took the unusual step of calling on families of Israelis visiting the Sinai to establish contact with them.

  9. My critique of Foxman, published in the Jerusalem Post

    Where’s our leadership?
    Jan. 17, 2010
Charles Jacobs , THE JERUSALEM POST

We are a small people. We have multiple and powerful external enemies. Striving for Jewish political unity is our natural and rational impulse. Criticizing other Jewish leaders and mainstream Jewish organizations is usually just not done. But these are extraordinary times. We face daunting challenges for which there are no known answers. Chief among them are Islamic anti-Semitism and the global jihad that pose enormous, unanticipated threats to Jews around the world.

The premier Jewish defense agency, the Anti-Defamation League and its head, Abraham Foxman, have failed to respond to these threats. In truth, it is not only the ADL that is failing: Few Jewish leaders and almost no mainstream organizations have decided to stop doing business as usual, and to explain to the community that we now face a radically new and potentially existential threat.

It should be clear to anyone who can see beyond The New York Times that the Jews now live in a new time. World Jewry is caught up in a perfect storm: In Western societies, real danger to Jews no longer comes from Christian hatred of Judaism or from Nazi-like animus against our “race”; it comes instead from a hatred of the Jewish state and its Jewish supporters. That this animus comes mostly from the ideological left, with which a majority of Jews identify, is painful and confusing to many.

At the same time, blowing in from the Muslim world is a different sort of anti-Semitism, one which combines modern anti-Zionist themes with primordial Islamic theological hatred. Jew-hatred now drives countless masses around the globe. Imbibing this poison, Muslim radicals have attacked and murdered Jewish people from Israel to Europe, from India to Seattle.

Islamic hatred has indeed come to America.
In 1999, Sufi Sheikh Hisham Kabanni, head of the Supreme Islamic Council, testified to the State Department that 80 percent of American mosques are in the hands of radicals. A study by Freedom House, a Washington policy center, found Saudi-produced anti-Semitic literature in Islamic centers around the country. “Close Guantanamo, reopen Auschwitz” has been shouted by Muslims at anti-Israel demonstrations in Fort Lauderdale and posted on Boston-based Muslim Web sites.

EDITED DOWN FOR SPACE. SEE LINK TO ORIGINAL ARTICLE

Should Jews not expect Abe Foxman – and our other leaders – to level with us? To tell us what they know about the penetration of the Muslim Brotherhood into our communities and about the proliferation of radical mosques across America, and the intimidation, sometimes physical, of Jewish students on campus by radical Muslim students?

There needs to be a serious new effort. We can start with public conferences around the country on Islamic anti-Semitism and Islamist penetration of American society. We need to fund research in universities about these threats. We need to focus on the Saudi lobby and its impact on silencing scrutiny and criticism of anything Islamic. We need to reach out to congressmen to address these issues. Why not press for sensitivity training for foreign students who come from lands seething in anti-Semitism? Help us, Abe Foxman. We cannot continue with PC-denial and with timidity. Silence is potentially deadly. Let us face this challenge forthrightly, and together.

Today Dr. Chesler is right on target.
Better to write with a take-no-prisoners truthfulness than retreat into a ‘looking for the good muslim among the bad’ delusion. If they are there, they will have to fend for themselves. I’m busy worrying about my survival.

American churches institutionalize Jew-hatred with a 1939 flavor which is thinly disguised as distorted condemnations of Israel. Obama hold a Wannassee Conference with the disgraceful UN haters. American Jewish organizations fiddle. Foxman is despicable and that’s not news.

(and “ahem”, Please leave dear Ruvy alone – he has faith – I wish more people did).

  11. 11. Linda Rivera

Christian leaders worldwide, via their churches, websites, Christian radio stations, Christian TV, magazines, etc. have the ability to mobilize literally millions of demonstrators in the world’s cities’ streets to protest a Muslim terror state in Israel. Christian leaders have a moral responsibility to act immediately as we all see the vultures circling Israel, ready to pounce.

As we see a hostile Washington administration arming Arab Muslim nations to the hilt and refusing to arm Israel. Or will Christian leaders keep their people inside churches in so-called “Nights to honor Israel”, etc. instead of out on the streets in massive protests, fighting for the survival of the Jewish people?

    • Carol

I agree on the one hand. On the other, it’s hard to expect Christians to be defending Jews when the majority of American Jews aren’t defending themselves.

      • Just as there are JINOs there are XINOs too, people who go to church maybe far more often than real devout believers in the godhood of Jesus but who are offensive liberal secularists, unable to understand that no less than Judaism there can be no compromise in true Christianity. Unshakeable faiths have unshakeable laws to be obeyed, no matter the love we must show to those who do not follow the Word as we understand it, whether Jew or Christian.

There is a common enemy hunting both the followers of Christ and especially those “troublesome” Jews… and this enemy has a powerful worshipper in the Whitehouse. All narcissists ultimately serve the Ultimate Narcissist, the Adversary… Shaitan, Satan, call it what you will. The Enemy.

Jews are, for their troubles and their pain, the canaries in the human mineshaft. We can tell the true face of evil because it attacks first that movement which holds dearest humanity, peace, family and intellectual rigour. And it turns non-Jews against the Jewish Family by first turning Jewish children themselves against their own faith. The Enemy knows if it can first breach the wall of Israel, it has opened up not only the Jewish heart but the true Christian heart too.

I coined it and said it first, and I have never stopped saying it since: Islamo Delenda Est.

  12. 12. Adina Kutnicki, Israel

There still ARE thankfully some Jews who say NEVER AGAIN and actually mean NEVER AGAIN.

On a personal level, the above is what led my sons in 2007 (joining them shortly thereafter) to Israel after pocketing degrees from Caltech and MIT. Two twenty somethings who joined the IDF to do more than just wring their hands as events unfold before their eyes.

It is one thing to say you care about the survival of the Jewish homeland, but quite another to be willing to leave the cushy life back home in the US, and head for army service halfway across the world.

This is why my sons are my heroes, even if they don’t think of themselves like that.

As for the Jewish leadership in the US, they are not fit to shine their army boots.

    • Alana

I am a Christian. I have never understood why so many of the Jewish people vote democratic. Especially this last election where we were given little information regarding Obama himself however we had Obama’s associates to judge him by. They were clearly not Jew friendly. Or Christian friendly. Or American friendly for that matter. I’m not sure what is really going on but I sure can tell that Israel is being thrown under the bus. It scares me. And Israel is only one of the many allies that are being sold out. Hey America – WE’RE being sold out.

      • Richard W.

Don’t kid yourself, the outcome that we are seeing is precisely the one the secular Jews want. They were never friends to Israel.

      • Menachem Ben Yakov

More American Jews are voting Republican more often. That said, the Pat Buchanon contingent of the Republican party has done everything possible to create a hostile atmosphere for Jews.
        Its a two way street.

  13. 13. Harvey Cohen

This is hysterical nonsense. Jews have never in their long, long history ever been as prosperous, powerful, and as big a part of the U.S. Establishment as they are today. Chesler ignores the Godzilla in the room: By becoming a racist, murderous “Settler State” and yet acting as if it’s “The Land Of Milk And Honey”- Israel is INFLAMING anti-Semitism. Clinging to outmoded conceptions of Jewish victimology is not only pathetic – it’s actually gross. The Palestinians (not the Jews) are the WWII Jews of today and everyone knows it. Call them “filthy shvatz goyim”, exult in their misery, and what have you become? The shetl mentality has to go. No one’s coming after you, the pogroms are over, you can stop wailing “Never again!”. Get on with your lives, and face the music: Israel has morphed into something terrible and it can not last much longer if it doesn’t become a decent, civilized nation. It’s time to grow up.

“Jews have never in their long, long history ever been as prosperous, powerful, and as big a part of the U.S. Establishment as they are today.” t

      To Isaiah’sreply, I’ll add pre-Nazi Germany.

” Chesler ignores the Godzilla in the room: By becoming a racist, murderous “Settler State” and yet acting as if it’s “The Land Of Milk And Honey”- Israel is INFLAMING anti-Semitism. ”
Israel is neither a racist state nor a settler state (whatever that means), and the Arabs were opposed to the existence of Israel within any boundaries at all — the 1949 Armistice Lines that have somehow become sacrosanct, or even the smaller and indefensible lines of the partition resolution.

Most people of any sense — Jewish or non-Jewish — realize that anti-semitism is not caused by the actions of Jews, it is caused by the existence of Jews. Because only an anti-semite blames one Jew for the actions of another Jew, or all Jews for the actions of the Jewish state. So even if your charges were right, you’d still be wrong.

Finally, anyone who puts Yiddish dialogue (and inaccurate Yiddish at that) in the mouths of Hebrew speaking Israelis shows that he is probably not Jewish, definitely ignorant and certainly an anti-semite. Since you apparently like to look up Yiddish words, look up ver geharget.

      • Lots of older Israelis who came from Eastern Europe speak Yiddish. But I agree the guy is a troll.

        • ahad ha'amoratsim

So does my son in Yerushalayim, who is in his 20′s and learned it in bes medrash in the US. But it’s hardly the everyday language in most of Israel, is it?

The Arab Muslims have homelands from the border of Iran with Iraq, far down South through all of Arabia and much of Northern Africa, to the Atlantic Coast.

The UN tried to set up two homelands, the Arabs, the Palestinians, said no. Arabs, Christian and Muslim, live in Israel. They serve in the Knesset.

Clinton had convinced Israel to give Arafat 99% of the land the PA demanded, Arafat said no.

Why don’t the Jordanians and Egyptians welcome in the Palestinean brothers?

The only democracy in the region has morphed into ‘something horrible’? Get real.

    • David W. Lincoln

Why are they still called Palestinians? When before 1948 they were called South Syrian Arabs.

  15. 15. truepeers

Harvey, you make me weep, seriously. If what you say about Israel were true, there would be no “Palestinians” today. While I readily acknowledge Palestinian suffering (although they have a higher per capita income than Arabs in neighboring countries and many of them seem quite happy with or dependent on life in a warrior culture that extorts a lot of money from the “international community”), and while I recognize that few Arabs living in Israel want to live under a Palestinian authority, one has to ask seriously how it is that this suffering has come about. Do you really think Israeli history has demonstrated more of a Jewish unwillingness to get along with the Other, and not an Arab/Islamic one? How can you possibly build a convincing narrative for the latter, unless you have no sense of what moves politics in the Arab/Islamic world? Have you ever, for example, seen an Arab/Islamic intellectual or politician explain, in depth and in a way that attracts serious attention, how any Jewish presence can be incorporated within the Arab/Islamic world as anything other than a dhimmi presence? How could Jewish politics and freedom ever be incorporated in any way or form in the Arab/Islamic conception of a properly ordered society? It is the complete lack of answers to such questions that has been pushing this impasse for well over sixty years and that is the prime reason behind the suffering you see. And so, not surprisingly, your only “solution” is to eliminate the Jewish presence because you don’t really believe in any other possibility if you can’t see that Israel is already so much more of a civilized nation than its rivals, and hence a model of social organization for them. Go try living as a Jew or a Christian, or something non-Islamic, anywhere in the Islamic world: you won’t find much evidence of a belief in reciprocity and religious freedom for the other. Can’t you see the overwhelming evidence of that? Why do you think half of the Israeli Jews are refugees from the Arab world, with resentments and scars to be sure?

    • Theo Goodwin

If Israel truly were what its detractors say it is, a crusader state, all Muslim cities in the Middle East would have been sacked long ago. The state of Israel is a paragon of peace among people whose leaders are nothing more than leaders of bandit gangs.

      • ahem

Theo: That’s absolutely correct. If Israel had ever had plans to dominate the middle-east, it could–and would–have done so long ago.

  19. 19. Harvey Cohen

Oy vey. I’m sorry, but the “Arabs are worse” or “What about the Sudan?” arguments are played out. #2. I didn’t vote for Obama and are at best ambivalent about some of his policies, and not from “the left”. #3. Do you really think that Netanyahu is doing a swell job? He alienated Turkey (Israel’s only Islamic ally) with a cheap stunt. He appointed an out and out vile racist (Lieberman) to be the Foreign Minister. He’s sadly mistaken if he thinks that he can dismiss the concerns of General Petraeus, Admiral Mullen and a lot of the top brass with the same old blustery crap. 4. To quote Dore Gold (not exactly an “Obama tuchas-licker): “Goldstone isn’t going away. NO COUNTRY IN HISTORY have Jews ever been ever better off than here in the Red, White, and Blue. Unlike, all the other supposed heydays mentioned, those countries were NOT a Nation Of Immigrants. My God, the way some of you sound, you’d think we’re living in the Ukraine circa 1940. Get out, breathe some fresh air, the Cossacks are not around the corner, And, re Iran, Ehud Barak not exactly a Peace Now schmuck was quoted as saying that the Iranian mullahs are NOT “meshugganah”. They’re cautious, cautious men. They’re NOT one big Suicide Bombers Nation. They have no Nukes and are not by any stretch of the imagination close to getting one. They’re monitored, have big internal troubles. By some estimates, Israel has over 200 Nukes, a military that may be the third or fourth best in the world. Go ahead, carry on like you’re carrying on. See where it gets you. As far as Israel, how many Jews over the age of 60 buy into your Israel can do no wrong rhetoric, Obama is “Pharoah”, Hillary is “Hitlery”? It’s a new day, let the good times roll, and stop acting as if the whole world hates the Jews, because it doesn’t.

    • Laura

For someone who is exhorting others to get a sense of history, you seem to be blissfully ignorant of June 1967.

    • Skydiver

Harvey – or whatever your name is – your arguments are pathetic. You know nothing of Jewish people, and I highly doubtful you are a Jew. If you are – you are a disgrace. You and your likes give bad name to Jewish people. I have a few neighbors like you, who pretend to be Jewish, but have nothing Jewish in them, except Yarmulke. Those like you, self hating Jews, are to eager to point finger at Israel in attempt to distance themselves from it, but only distance Real Jewish people from yourselves. You and those like you in ADL and JStreet do not represent Jewish people today. You have betrayed us for the sake of your own “powerful” and “reach”.

      Disgusting!!!

    • Menachem Ben Yakov

      IMHO comments # 19 & 20 should be removed.

      • Xiaoding

Sheesh, you again. You want to censor people, move to Iran, you xxxxx.

  20. 20. Harvey Cohen

Jews under the age of 60 is what I meant. Intermarriage is what, 50% now? It’s had an effect. How many Jews do you think want to leave America for Israel, now? If you could find a minyan, you’d be lucky. Nobody (least of all me) is saying that Israel has no real security concerns. But, the time to make a deal is sooner, rather than later. South Africa couldn’t sustain their system and neither can Israel. The world just doesn’t work that way anymore. What I’m saying is pretty much what everyone who’s got an ounce of common sense is saying IN ISRAEL right now. Do what’s best for Israel and Israelis, not what you’re used to saying to impress some guy you’re playing cards with to show what a tough monkey you are.

    • Carol

I think you show a lot of potential for landing a job with this administration.

You’re either a hopeless lost Jew or an imposter. Either way, I think you have a good shot at employment with the administration if you’re not employed there already. You will fit right in. Here on this blog, not so much.

    • ahem

Harvey: If you are of Jewish descent, you’re a disgrace, and you’re living in a dream.

    • Oscar the Grump

      Harvey,
There are many ways to commit suicide and that’s what you want our brothers to do. I remember signs in this country that said, “No Jews or dogs allowed.” We are much closer to that time again than you can imagine. If you want to know how bad it can get, go to UC Irvine. That is the model in place for the whole country. My own son experienced serious anti-Semitism in his high school. His own teachers would do nothing to stop it. Threats, Jew boy, vandalism, they are here already. The whole world has forgotten my dead family and their brethern in Europe. What’s more they don’t care and don’t want to be reminded. What you have and what we have can be taken away from us in a heart beat, witness the Japanese Americans during WWII. Don’t be so damn smug.

      • Carol

Please share more about what’s going on at UCI.

        • Oscar the Grump

          Carol,
There was a recent article about UC Irvine in PJM, it was to the point and accurate. I really can’t add much more to that. The Arabs on campus are operating without restriction by the administration. Basically they intimidate everyone and people are getting sick of it. Jewish parents have stopped sending their children to the school which happens to be an excellent school. The word is that the school is no longer Jew friendly. I had some links about the school but I can’t bring them up. I don’t know why I can’t raise my bookmarks.

    • Pragmatist

But even someone like YOU Harvey a self confessed self hating Jew must admit that its not about LAND and that it never has been about LAND its just a MOHAMMEDAN excuse to kill JEWS. The PALESTINIANS were only INVENTED in the 1960′s before that they were just like the rest JORDANIAN Mohammedan ARAB INVADERS.

      • Brian N

You are so fing uninformed it is sad. Have you ever talked to a Palestinian? I have talked to many whose parents were arrested for no reason. I mean no legitimate reason, of course for Israel it was strategic. You have a whole nation of people being oppressed, who just want there own country. I am not denying that there are not people on both sides who want all the others destroyed, but they are not the majority. Take some time and actually read about what happens to the Palestinians. Should they all be punished forever because of some bad apples. They are real people too. Most of them just want to live a normal life.

    • “How many Jews do you think want to leave America for Israel, now? If you could find a minyan, you’d be lucky.”

Now I can tell you are writing propaganda from some instructions, since your assertions are SO off the wall. Ask Nefesh B’Nefesh how many Americans make aliyah every WEEK. Way more than a minyan. Even most secular Jews know that.

  21. 21. Max Friedman

Abe Foxman of ADL is a self-absorbed putz! In fact, he’s a super-putz!

Phyllis: Name names and take no prisoners. As soon as we neutralize our internal Jewish KAPOS, the sooner we can form a new Jewish force to fight anti-semitism and genocide.

Our enemies are threefold – Communists/progressives and dumbass liberals; jihadists, radical Islamists/ignorant masses; and internal Jewish KAPOS/fools/dupes.

Time to clean our house first, then take on the rest. We need to make sure our backs are covered before we attack frontward.

  22. 22. David W. Lincoln

Phyllis, my thanks for you keeping an eye on the battles being fought by Ezra Levant, and his stalwart allies, on the Canadian side of the Canada/US border.

You are familiar that one side attacking Ezra, et al., are what he calls, “Official Jews”. One group is the Canadian Jewish Congress.

The CJC speaks for Ezra, indeed all Zionists, to the same extent that Haman spoke for Mordechai and Hadassah, or Hitler for Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

  23. 23. Ian

It is not really worth replying to the ammoral and immoral useless idiotcy of this “Harvey Cohen.”

Surfice it to say that the Jewish people and nation must finally realize that the stigma of the Holocaust is fading and that in the new era our worse enemies come from the manical, fanatical left.

It is time to tale a page from the radicals ourselves and be prepared to defend ourselves
    “by any means necessary.”

Your enemies will either be at your “throat or at your feet.”

    Choose Jews…
    …Quickly

    • Menachem Ben Yakov

Ian, as to your first comment I agree completely. Thank you.
Your comment, ” The Jewish people and nation must finally realize that the stigma of the Holocaust is fading and that in the new era our worse enemies come from the manical, fanatical left. ” is one I take issue with. For Jews the memory of the Shoah is eternal. We, who are only one generation away from lampshades and soap, cannot begin to comprehend the tragedy. It is forever part of the history of the Jews. We, the living Jews, serve as a testament to truth of our Torah. Israel to His promise. We are here to stay.
For some the memory of The Shoah cannot fade fast enough. Why do you think there has been a headlong rush to appoint Nazis as Secretary Generals and Popes? The immoral world cannot wash the blood off its hands soon enough! The evil complicity the nations of the world share has driven them insane. So a global ” blame the victim ” mindset soothes the moral pain.

For Jews self reliance and prayer are a way of life.

  24. 24. truepeers

“but the “Arabs are worse”… arguments are played out”

-in your mind obviously, but if you intend to tell Israelis they have to live under the Arabs (because that, at best, is the only “peace” the Palestinians are offering – though I expect many of the present Arab regimes actually want Israel to remain strong, to counter Iran and to avoid a power vacuum, and that means letting the Palestinians drift as a source for endless crocodile tears…) you might have the decency to explain your new-found wisdom. I suspect you cannot because it is merely Gnostic dreaming and fearful avoidance of reality. How else do you actually know the minds of the Mullahs? (you are only telling us what you *want* to believe, as if we care…) Oh, and I’m well under 60 and am starting to think of leaving North America for Israel. You are right that no country has ever been better for the Jews than the USA, and yet antisemitism is clearly on the rise for all with eyes to see.

  25. 25. truepeers

What seems to be going on with North American Jewry is a great division between the secular and inter-marrying who will soon lose touch with Jewish identity in any substantial way, and those, especially noticeable among the young, who are turning back towards some form of orthodox practice.

  26. 26. What is "occupation"

American Jews, at least the 25% that actually can see the clouds on the horizon should arm themselves…

    that is all…

  27. 27. Jack in Silver Spring

Abe Foxman is a Democrat shill who accidentally is a Jew by birth and whose day job is Chairman of the ADL. Can you really expect much more out of him? Yes, the days are grim, but put not your trust in princes or in the son of man who has no salvation.

  28. 28. alex

“all in order to “impose” a solution (hopefully not another Final Solution) on Jewish Israel”

This is an Offensive statement, implying America is planning genocide. It is gutter hysterical Journalism at best.

    Shame on your houses.

    • Grantman

Alex, the Obami wish to impose a solution on Israel. Part of their plans are to not ship weapons, spare parts, etc. By denying Israel the strategic and tactical superiority, any type of warfare that may/will be fought and that Israel can’t win will cause the deaths of millions of Israelis.

A “final solution” as in the Nazi terminology is not what Phyllis is stating, but if Hezb’allah launches 10,000 missiles (I understand that they’ve received some Scuds recently) or Hamas starts lobbing more than Katushas and has upgraded their capabilities, then the result is the same.

Metaphor or simile or another term, I’m not a grammarian, but I got what she was saying and did not think in any way that America is planning on a genocide. However, if tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of Israelis die due to the policies of this administration, I don’t really care what you think.

    • ahad ha'amoratsim

Alex, it is not that the US is planning genocide. But the Obama administration is floating ideas — including their “imposed solution” — that would inevitably result in another war that Israel would fight without allies and, if Obama’s past actions and present advisers are any guide, without the ability to buy replacement arms and ammunition from the US. And if G-d forbid Israel were to lose that war, the result would in fact be genocide, as well as the loss of the only nation in the world willing to take in Jews from elsewhere when those Jews face genocide in the countries where they reside.

Friends don’t insist on friends committing suicide. And friends don’t agree to commit suicide just because a friend is too stupid to realize that what he is insisting on is tantamont to suicide.

Given the context, I think it is an appropriate use of what is of course meant to be very strong language.

What’s offensive to me is the use of the word “solution” in the first place. Solution to what?

Israel is not a problem to be solved, it is a free nation, one of the most impressive nations on earth.

Terms like “solution” and “peace process” are code words. They used to be code for doing nothing and pretending to care. Now they are code for something much worse. It is certainly time to call people on what they mean by the language they use, in this context. Well past time, really.

It is pretty effing ironic to bother being offended by the words “final solution.” How about being offended by the fact of it? The fact of it. It happened. And we are standing by while it is being planned again. NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Ramp the language up, I say. Ramp it right up. That is the very least we can do.

Thank you, Ms. Chesler, for telling it like it is.

There is book called “Hitler’s Jewish Soldiers.” It ia a true account of jews or part jews that served in the German Army in World War 2. How about “Obamas’s Jewish Soldiers?” God bless Israel and the jewish people. I hope the jewish people stop their support for Obama, the Democrat Party and all those others who hate Israel.

Harvey Cohen has cherry-picked the facts. He needs to convert or change his name or take up a hobby.

    1) The fate of the Jews rests in Obama’s hands. If he claps his hands, Israel is history. Then things will be just fine for the few Jews left in America. Obama is Roosevelt on cocaine. The next intifada will be named in his honor.

    2) Harvey Cohen has no grasp of Judaism. Your assimilation places you outside the community. If you had been in Egypt, as you stand now, you would not have been redeemed.

    3) Your view of Israel and the manner in which she treats those Arabs within its sphere of influence implies that you have never been to Israel or, having been there, you did not bother to look around. No nation in history has treated its fifth column members better than Israel.

    4) Judging from your language – “one tough monkey”, “playing cards”, “It’s time to grow up”, and “Chesler ignores the ‘Godzilla’ in the room” – you are one of those “alte kockers” with a pre-WWII Communist background who is now comfortable in your dotage condemning your own roots.

    5) Most important, you offer no hope to anyone, particularly the Jews, of a better life in this world. Who are you to say, “Surrender, assimilate, grow up” as though you have grasped the edges of the universe and understand anything at all. Your ignorance betrays you! Go and study, like Jews have always done!

Sheba and Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish and all her young lions shall ask [Gog, ruler of the Russians]: “Is it for plunder that you have come? Is it for pillage that you have summoned your horde, to carry off silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to seize much plunder?”- Ezekiel 38:13-15
What is the meaning of this passage? While Russia and Iran lead a coalition to attack Israel, America and her allies will stand by and do nothing, but God Himself will intervene to save Israel. I had always thought that this passage would be fulfilled because the Rapture had brought America to her knees, leaving her unable to come to Israel’s aid, or else that the invasion occurred so suddenly that our forces couldn’t get there in time, but with Obama in command I can see the scenario that Israel would be attacked by Russia and America would be able, but unwilling to do anything about it.

“Harvey Cohen has no grasp of Judaism. Your assimilation places you outside the community. If you had been in Egypt, as you stand now, you would not have been redeemed.”

Percentage of Jews in Egypt who were not redeemed for the reasons you described — 80% (per Rashi).

Percentage of US Jewish voters who voted for Obama — 78%.

Coincedence, or maybe we have just forgotten too much of what we have learned in the last few thousand years?

The ADL is a farce. It does nothing to counter the growing tide of anti-Semitism in this country. Its leaders are more concerned about their cushy positions and continuing donations to care enough to counter the onslaught of Arab propaganda. In an effort to show that it is having some effect, it sponsors love fests with the very enemy of our people. It reminds me of the attempts of the Jewish population in Germany trying vainly to reach some compromise with the Nazis before 1939. You can kiss all the a** you want, its not going to change things. The ADL has done nothing to stem the ongoing hate propaganda and now its starting to change from Israeli to Jew. Instead of using donations to counter blood libel, its using donations for a great life style. Go to a demonstration against Israel and you’ll see money spent by the Saudis, slick posters, Palestinian flags, sound equipment, and organized chants. We sing Shalom Alehem, they shout baby killers. We talk of peace, they call us Nazis. We talk of coexistence, they shout free Palestine. I don’t see any ADL sound equipment, posters or speakers. I guess the ADL really stands for Am Doing Little.

Like them you’ll comfortable right into the gas chambers. The Nazis aren’t dead, they’ve just join the Islamists. Here is a little known fact. When the Israelis took the Sinai in 1967, they captured a factory. It was totally modeled after the death camps of Poland. There were no ‘Palestinians’ at the time yet. Why were the Egyptians prepared to wipe out all the Jews in such a camp? Why did the Mufti of Jerusalem work for that before the creation of Israel. Why was there a massacre at Safad in the 1890′s.

      • Brian N

You grouchy and outdated. You cling to the idea of antisemitism as a shield against anything wrong that Israel might do. This does not cut it anymore. The times when my grandfather could not go to certain golf clubs is over. The times where my Aunt could not go to Ivy league schools because they had their Jew quota are over. Antisemitism is not dead but, it has been driven to the fringes of the likes of the KKK. Israel is a country and one which can do wrong. I am not saying it is always wrong, but it does not get a free pass from me for everything it does because my fellow Jews are there. If my best friend does something wrong I can call him out, but that does not make me an antisemitic self hatting Jew because he is Jewish. Israel has been granted a lot of leeway for good reason. However, the times are changing and people are not looking the other ways anymore when Israel blows off the peace talks. I know change is hard old man, but it everything changes and that cannot be stopped. Stop looking to the past to scare yourself. We as a people have survived worse than bad publicity from world leaders and the news.

        • Oscar the Grump

Wow, great speech! You want to see anti-Semitism go to Berkley, UCLA, UC Irvine, U of A. The things being said there are “anti Israel” just like BBC did a year ago. BBC no longer uses the term Israeli, its new term is the “Jews”. Go f**k yourself.

Racism against Muslims is no conceptually differnt to racism against Nazis. I see no reason why someone should be discriminated for something he can’t cahnge (his race or sex) but I see no reason why someone shouldn’t be hated or despised for professing an idea.

Mythbuster, do you even understand what the Book of Joel is about..?

This is typical for biblical warmongers, find a single passage mistaken as justification for war, savagery, anything to justify killing witches, heretics, ( today it would be Muslim, maybe in a few hundred years it will be Catholics, who knows) or anyone else that doesn’t believe exactly as they do.

FYI, the Book of Joel has nothing to do with arming yourself, or killing another…it is one of the books preparing foundation for the day of the Lord; the judgement of God upon nations and people. Removing a single passage out of the Bible without context is why we live in this religiously screwed up world.

Make it simple on yourselves, toss your bibles and take up arms against anyone that doesn’t believe what you do. At least then you are true to what you believe in.

    • myth buster

I know it’s about preparing for the Day of the Lord; I also know that that Day is close at hand. The regathering of Israel is proof. Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Joel, among others, all prophesied of this. For their apostasy, the Jews were scattered by the Lord to the nations of the Earth. The promise was that they would be returned in the Last Days, preceding His Coming, and then He will pour out His Spirit upon them, bringing them to repentance. The Time of Jacob’s Trouble will come soon, and 2/3 of the Jews will perish, but Israel shall be saved because of it.

If you won’t listen to me, at least keep watch for the Prophet Elijah, who will come in advance of the Messiah. Listen, O Israel, to the words of the Prophets! Hear the voice of the Lord!

  39. 39. Fern Sidman

Praise and accolades to Dr. Chesler for her doughtiness in confronting these issues pertaining to Jewish survival, when no one else could or would. The vacuum in the global Jewish community is not only frightening but appalling as well. Paralyzed by abject fear, apathy and indifference the Jew posits himself as the proverbial ostrich, keeping his collective head buried in the sand. Hiding behind his moral rectitude and a vast array of alibis such as engaging in “quiet diplomacy”, he ceases to see the truth.

The burgeoning tensions between Israel and the US are only the tip of the iceberg, as we witness the beginning of the end of Jewish influence in this country. The visceral hatred of the Jew and Israel has been rapidly escalating since June of 1967 and the promulgation of incessant canards leveled against Israel by her detractors haven’t even reached their zenith. Tragically, there is way more to come while the pernicious propaganda machines are revving up for the ultimate “kill”.

The Obama administration does indeed plan to play hardball with Israel only because they think they can. They are fully cognizant of the fact that most American Jewish leaders, like Foxman, are timorous creatures, fearing for their own lives and status in the “golden medina”. The same, “Sha Shtill” (Yiddish for quiescent) attitude that plagued Jewish leaders during the Holocaust years is still prevalent today. And for American Jews, who jettisoned their passion for Zionism decades ago, the idea of taking to the streets in Washington for a massive march in support of the Jewish state will go over like a lead balloon.

When will Foxman and the other leaders of the alphabet soup of major American Jewish organizations get it? In this vapid post-Zionist era, Jews don’t care anymore !! They don’t go out into the streets for any Jewish cause, anymore. Ideological activism is a moribund concept in Jewish circles. Don’t get me wrong, however. Jews will march, but they will not march for Israel. They’ll organize and mobilize and march for every non-Jewish and anti-Jewish cause under the sun but they will not summon up even a modicum of intestinal fortitude when it comes to a display of unity for a strong and greater Israel.

As Dr. Chesler correctly states, there is a “New Anti-Semitism” and it is not only being fostered by fringe “radicals” like Norman Finkelstein, Noam Chomsky and Amy Goodman but by the self-loathers at J Street who have ingratiated themselves with the new presidential administration. You are right, Dr. Chesler. We heard the world’s deafening silence when it came to genocide in Rawanda, Bosnia and Darfur, so how could we possibly expect that same world to step up to the plate for the Jew that is held in such contempt.

Never Again?? Surely, that doesn’t mean that there will never again be another Holocuast. Never Again means that the Jew must extricate himself from the exile mentality that has held him captive for centuries and start behaving like a real Jew. He must emulate the Jew of the Bible; he must learn lessons from King David and Moses and Pinchas and place his trust in the Almighty G-d of Israel. He must gird his loins and prepare to defend his people and his faith, without fear. He must understand that we do not believe in “lifting our eyes unto Washington and from Congress shall come forth our salvation”.

We are standing at a perilous precipice in history. A clear and present danger looms overhead. Who is wise? The prescient Jew who has eyes to see and ears that hear. Dr. Chesler: History will record the words you’ve written here today and more importantly, the G-d that you pray to three times a day has also heard your cries of anguish. I only pray that your people and the world will hear your clarion call. Now, before it is too late.

    • ahem

Beautifully stated, Fern. It’s a form of “postmodern” anti-semitism, in which Jews themselves participate. Not that it will do them any good.

It’s important to keep in mind that this monster is coming to finish us all off–the Jews would just be among the first. It is not just a Jewish problem, it is a problem for the entirety of western civilization.

  40. 40. Larry in Tel Aviv

If only a quarter of Jews had P Chesler’s passion and intelligence, we would be in less of a mess. Foxman is a symptom of a deeper malaise and stupidity among Jewry the world over. Look at the Canadian Jewish leadership, it’s the same, and in Israel we have less excuse for being so dumb, but trust me, too many Ashkenazi Jewry here live in a bubble and worship the false god of Leftism and cultural relativism. And they will continue to worship it even if Tel Aviv goes up in a mushroom cloud, even if jihadists slit their throats. Against stupidity (ie Leftism as much as anything) the gods rail in vain.

To non-Jews, ignore Ruvy’s comment on “the goyim”. Stop talking to the anti-Semitic goyim for sure (ie most liberals), and ostracise and condemn the anti-Semitic “Jews” too, who have less excuse and stop talking to American “Jews” who CONTINUE to support the Democrats, I wish them nothing but a terrible shame that will hang over them for the rest of their lives.

These are insane times, and too many people have lost their heads. I must admit, I do fear the worst, I don’t worry about mysef, I have lived my life, I am not young, I have no wife and children, yet I see all the young people around me, the children..and I wonder what is their future? Sometimes I hope this is all a bad dream and I will wake up to a world in which there is no Islamic radicalism and no Liberalism, ha that gets me thinking, how about this riff of the famous Lennon song (yeah I know that others have done it too)…

Imagine there are no liberals, no jihadists too
No dhimmis around us and no CNN too
Imagine there is no BBC and no court Jews
Imagine all the dhimmis deported to Saudi Arabia
You may say I’m a dreamer but I’m not the only one
I hope someday you will join us and our world can be as one

  41. You don’t seem to get it yet! the only language the vast majority of muslims understand is force.
I come from a family that just managed to escape just in time from the horrors perpetrated against us in the arab world leading up to, during and the post inception of ‘The State Of Israel’ in May 1948. When jews whether Askennazi, sefardic or Mizrahi made their way to new countries ie. europe, the Americas, Australia etc. they never imposed their religious beliefs on anyone, they accepted and respected the laws of their new adopted countries,
they strived to become good loyal citizens of their respected countries, they showed their appreciation by trying to advance the welfare of their adopted lands in any way they could, whether it was in the scientific, medicine, the arts, in charitable fields etc. etc. In the islamic world if anybody states anything negative about islam they are threatened with death, howevewr muslims have stated terrible things about judaism and nothing happens to them. I suggest that a new law should be promulgated in Israel whereas any muslim caught that calls for the death of jews, that incites hatred against the jews, that has insulted judaism, has defaced jewish graves, religious sites such as the ‘Tomb of rachel’ etc. should be executed when found guilty of those crimes. Maybe then Muslims will understand that they cannot continue villifying other religions but command respect for their’s.

IANAJ (I am not a Jew.)
From the outside, looking in, it seems as if Foxman & Co. take their orientation from conservative Christians. Whatever conservative Christians favor, or whatever the stereotyping insists they favor, F & Co. take the opposite direction.
Suppose conservative Christians said they hate Israel….
That would put F & Co on Israel’s side.
    Worth it?

    • There is a specific politics behind this, the politics of multiculturalism, and it does position itself against many strains of American-identified Christianity, and now Israel. Take a look at the groups with which Foxman allied his organization in the 1990′s. Multicult coalitioning, “hate hurts” propagandizing, and SPLC “accusationing.”

These are the same people who scoured the country after 9/11, eager to accuse ordinary Americans of committing hate crimes against Muslims while working behind the scenes to keep those 3,000 murdered Americans from being counted as victims of hate crime. And that’s pretty much all you need to know about Abe Foxman. If killing 3,000 Americans doesn’t count, what else won’t count?

Nasty people are nasty in the core and it’s no accident that they do and say nasty things, it’s in their nature.

They are never convinced to act reasonable if you treat them how you’d like to them to treat you, but see this as weakness and an invitation to act out even more.

Jews and Western conservatives have to stop attempting to repair those people and just accept that they are nasty and cannot be educated and that they will never become ‘one of us’, but that they are who and what they say there are and that we cannot save them from themselves.

I wonder what Ed Koch thinks of the Nazi fest that was celebrated as a response to his column, and if he still has ‘Jesus disease’… note that if you keep presenting the other cheek, eventually you’ll get your butt kicked.

What the people who are either ambivilent about or actively supportive of the folks who want to destroy Israel don’t understand is that as Israel goes so goes the rest of Western civilization. You only get to lose this war once, what happens after that will make the dark ages look like a Church Social.

  54. 54. David Levavi

The Jewish community has always been plagued by loudmouthed mediocraties–machers, schnorrers and shtuppers–elbowing their way into positions of leadership. In good times the harm these people do is tolerable. In crisis, leadership by such community careerists can be disastrous. Abe Foxman certainly needs to be moved along.

That said, panicked gevaltism is not an effective response to the changes in the relationship between Israel and the United States that Obama and his supporters seem intent on engineering. As we come to recognize that Obama is not merely a bumbling political naif but a coolly calculating and determined enemy of the Jewish people, we must with equal calculation martial our resources to thwart him in his every endeavor.

Bitterly berating our Christian neighbors for their complacency in a time of rising anti-Semitism isn’t wise. Fulminating against a sleepwalking liberal Jewish majority and its reflexive support of the Democratic party accomplishes nothing. Nor does gnashing teeth over degenerate Jews of the J Street type. Last but not least, muttering darkly that “the night of the long knives approaches” is downright dangerous. The Sucari were a curse on the Jewish people two thousand years ago and Obama and the Jew haters would like nothing better than to see the reemergence of such a movement among Jews today. This is a free country as is Israel and opposition voices, even Quisling Jews however obnoxious, have a right to be heard without fear of assassination. Thank the Lord, we are not Arabs.

The overwhelming majority of American Jews support the State of Israel. So do the overwhelming majority of American Christians, the opinion of their anti-Semitic ruling elites notwithstanding. Both groups need to be shaken out of their torpor and stirred to action. A religious war has been declared against us by a common enemy.

Above all, a clear, common understanding of the current conflict and the nature of the enemy is urgent. The administration is engaged in a cunning Orwellian attempt distort the true nature of the conflict and the combatants. In this, Obama and company are collaborating with an enemy that has long played our democratic principles and inclusive sensibilities against us. This effort, above all, must be must be undone.

Like it or not, we are all of us–religious, secularist, agnostic and atheist alike– engaged in a religious war. The enemy is Islam. Radical Islamists lead the effort but their efforts are supported by virtually all Muslims.
The fact that we feel no special animus toward Muslims matters not at all. They are primitive religious fanatics with little regard for life and none for freedom and human rights.

Finally, Christian and Jew alike, we need to have faith. That which was created by the Founding Fathers will not be undone by the lowly like of Barack Obama.

I call on all enlightened countries to rise up to forcefully and firmly condemn Iran’s destructive intentions and to act with genuine determination to stop it from acquiring nuclear weapons.
    ———————————————————-
Why should we care one way or another about Iran and Israel? We have always been told (even by Israeli PMs like Itzak Shamir) that we “drank anti-semitism with our mother’s milk”. We remember those words and we remember how they made us feel. Words have consequences…

    • Menachem Ben Yakov

Karol, When Shamir spoke he was impolite perhaps but he was correct as far as a large segment of society is concerned. Hatred of Jews has ben indoctrinated from childhood in many groups. The world has never seen nuclear war between nuclear armed nations. If that happens, G-d forbid, every human being on the planet will suffer. Thats a good reason to be concerned.

  56. 56. Menachem Ben Yakov

    ” Dear World,

I understand that you are upset by us, here in Israel.

Indeed, it appears that you are quite upset, even angry.

Indeed, every few years you seem to become upset by us. Today, it is the “brutal repression of the Palestinians”; yesterday it was Lebanon; before that it was the bombing of the nuclear reactor in Baghdad and the Yom Kippur War and the Sinai campaign. It appears that Jews who triumph and who, therefore, live, upset you most extraordinarily.

Of course, dear world, long before there was an Israel, we – the Jewish people – upset you.

We upset a German people who elected Hitler and upset an Austrian people who cheered his entry into Vienna and we upset a whole slew of Slavic nations – Poles, Slovaks, Lithuanians, Ukrainians, Russians, Hungarians and Romanians. And we go back a long, long way in the history of world upset.

We upset the Cossacks of Chmielnicki who massacred tens of thousands of us in 1648-49; we upset the Crusaders who, on their way to liberate the Holy Land, were so upset at Jews that they slaughtered untold numbers of us.

For centuries, we upset a Roman Catholic Church that did its best to define our relationship through inquisitions, and we upset the arch-enemy of the church, Martin Luther, who, in his call to burn the synagogues and the Jews within them, showed an admirable Christian ecumenical spirit.

And it is because we became so upset over upsetting you, dear world, that we decided to leave you – in a manner of speaking – and establish a Jewish state. The reasoning was that living in close contact with you, as resident-strangers in the various countries that comprise you, we upset you, irritate you and disturb you. What better notion, then, than to leave you (and thus love you)- and have you love us and so, we decided to come home – home to the same land we were driven out 1,900 years earlier by a Roman world that, apparently, we also upset.

Alas, dear world, it appears that you are hard to please.

Having left you and your pogroms and inquisitions and crusades and holocausts, having taken our leave of the general world to live alone in our own little state, we continue to upset you. You are upset that we repress the poor Palestinians. You are deeply angered over the fact that we do not give up the lands of 1967, which are clearly the obstacle to peace in the Middle East.

Moscow is upset and Washington is upset. The “radical” Arabs are upset and the gentle Egyptian moderates are upset.

Well, dear world, consider the reaction of a normal Jew from Israel.

In 1920 and 1921 and 1929, there were no territories of 1967 to impede peace between Jews and Arabs. Indeed, there was no Jewish State to upset anybody. Nevertheless, the same oppressed and repressed Palestinians slaughtered tens of Jews in Jerusalem, Jaffa, Safed and Hebron. Indeed, 67 Jews were slaughtered one day in Hebron in 1929.

Dear world, why did the Arabs – the Palestinians – massacre 67 Jews in one day in 1929? Could it have been their anger over Israeli aggression in 1967? And why were 510 Jewish men, women and children slaughtered in Arab riots between 1936-39? Was it because Arabs were upset over 1967?

And when you, dear world, proposed a UN Partition Plan in 1947 that would have created a “Palestinian State” alongside a tiny Israel and the Arabs cried “no” and went to war and killed 6,000 Jews – was that “upset” caused by the aggression of 1967? And, by the way, dear world, why did we not hear your cry of “upset” then?

The poor Palestinians who today kill Jews with explosives and firebombs and stones are part of the same people who when they had all the territories they now demand be given to them for their state -attempted to drive the Jewish state into the sea. The same twisted faces, the same hate, the same cry of “itbach-al-yahud” (Massacre the Jew!) that we hear and see today, were seen and heard then. The same people, the same dream – destroy Israel. What they failed to do yesterday, they dream of today, but we should not “repress” them.

Dear world, you stood by during the holocaust and you stood by in 1948 as seven states launched a war that the Arab League proudly compared to the Mongol massacres.

You stood by in 1967 as Nasser, wildly cheered by wild mobs in every Arab capital in the world, vowed to drive the Jews into the sea. And you would stand by tomorrow if Israel were facing extinction. And since we know that the Arabs-Palestinians dream daily of that extinction, we will do everything possible to remain alive in our own land. If that bothers you, dear world, well think of how many times in the past you bothered us.

In any event, dear world, if you are bothered by us, here is one Jew in Israel who could not care less. ”

It wasn’t the Romans that your ancestors upset; it was God. Saying anything else is tantamount to calling God a liar and Moses a false prophet. Did He not promise that the Jews would only be exiled from the Promised Land if they abandoned the Covenant? The Jews suffer to this day because of apostasy- an apostasy they are still guilty of.

Your ancestors were exiled because they listened to the Pharisees and Sadducees, the former perverted the covenant with their own rules, which they did not themselves obey, turning the people away from God and making the Law into an idol! The latter denied that the Lord saves; they denied that there is a resurrection. Is it any surprise that they perished? Why then, do you cling to their false teachings? Seek the face of the Lord and long for Him, and He will reveal to you His Salvation.

Deuteronomy 28:36-37,49-57,63-69- war and exile are listed as chief among the curses that the Lord swore to bring against Israel if they abandoned the covenant. Deuteronomy 29:21-28 details the aftermath of the curses. Do you dispute this?

Foxman and epigone worked for decades for this moment. They have reached their goals, succeeded in the dedication, and achieved what they have worked for. Too bad it isn’t what they wanted. Let Foxman make a serious demonstration: for every dollar contributed to Democrats, denote two to Republicans; for every hour of volunteer work for Democrats, donate two hours to Republicans; for every speech praising Democrats, make two praising Republicans. I expect decades of humility and contrition for his past. Otherwise, let the evils he has worked for exercise their wrath on him and his followers. He wanted it, he worked for it, let him have what he wanted.

Foxman and his leftist shills at ADL are what Canada’s Ezra Levant refers to as “Official Jews” — the media’s go-to when they want Jews to confirm their own leftist, multicultural worldview.

Abe Foxman has also been MIA on hate crimes against white people. When there are such events he immediately goes into, “backlash” prevention mode. Much like when there is a Muslim terrorist attack, the immediate concern is a backlash against Muslims. But if a white/Euro/Christian does the occassional something, Abe Foxman is not batting for the prevention of a backlash against same, he is leading the hatefilled charges.

In short Abe Foxman is a hypocrite, and someone, that nobody should take seriously. Unfortunately he has resources to wage lawfare against “the white Euro Christian Other.” Abe Foxman is an anti-White Euro Christian bigot.

That is not the source of your strength. Your strength as Jews come from God. Trusting in man, in chariots or in horses is the road to another Holocaust. The unity that Jews must have to face the coming fire must be unity of faith. The same God who delivered Israel out of Egypt is the One who delivered Israel during the Six Day War. He will also deliver Israel from the hands of her enemies if only Jews would look to Him to live. The heritage of Jews is God. The past and future of Jews is God. The strength of Jews is God.

Thanks Phyllis, for your relentless and passionate offerings.
There is indeed a plot unfolding; as is evident even by MSM coverage.
All this emphasis on Iran (a distraction); all this emphasis on Obama (he’s clueless right now), all this emphasis on everything except the real threat; sound familiar?

The reality of the situation is this: The Lord our God has been rescuing Israel for quite some time now; and He will continue to deliver Israel from the hand of the enemy.

Reality #1: Israel IS being targeted for destruction.

Reality #2: Both Jews AND Christians are the target.

Reality #3: The U.S.A. is the only country that stands in the way of Israel being destroyed.

Reality #4: Therefore, there is a betrayer that is attempting to hand over the U.S.A. to its enemies.

Reality #5: We have to pray for the deliverer…the one that will deliver both Israel and the U.S.A from the hand of their enemy.

    Let’s get with it…

    • Menachem Ben Yakov

The idea that, ” The U.S.A. is the only country that stands in the way of Israel being destroyed. ” , is demonstrably false.
In fact Israels’ two greatest victories, in 1948 and 1967, came without any aid from the USA.
I can’t name a single country in the world that needs the USA to survive. Visit Israel.
      We are doing fine.

      • HUSKY

        Ben Yakov,

BY “standing in the way”…the U.S.A. is an obstacle for the enemy. It’s difficult to tell exactly how everything will play out. As I said, Jews are not the only targets and Islamists are not the only enemy.

The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob will alwayd rescue Israel. Don’t think for a minute that millions of Christians don’t pray for Israel…the Anglican communion for example, include a prayer for the continued blessing and protection of Israel in the Book of Common Prayer. Like it or not; I’m a Gentile; I love Israel and I worship the same God.

There will be an attempt to destroy Israel…but it will not succeed. Take that to the bank.

Jew by genetics and Christian by choice, I, like apostle Paul, have a great love for those God chose to be His physical people. And for His spiritual children in Christ.

Jew-haters might take note that, when God sent our Lord, Jesus Christ to earth to save mankind, He made Him a Jew. The Savior of all mankind is a Jew.

So, if one really wishes to ensure a “warm welcome” at the Last Judgment, just keep on hating your Creator and Savior and Lord. And see what it gets you.

God will hold to His Word- all of it, the Law and the Prophets. Israel is the Jews’ eternal inheritance, but there is no salvation in the Law. There is salvation in the Servant of the Lord. Look at Isaiah 50:
“Thus says the Lord: Where is the bill of divorce with which I dismissed your mother? Or to which of my creditors have I sold you? It was for your sins that were sold, for your crimes that your mother was dismissed.
Why was no one there when I came? Why did no one answer when I called? Is my hand too short to ransom? Have I not the strength to deliver? Lo, with my rebuke I dry up the sea, I turn rivers into a desert; their fish rot for lack of water, and die of thirst.
I clothe the heavens in mourning, and make sackcloth their vesture.

        [The Servant speaking]
        The Lord God has given me a well-trained tongue, that I might know how to speak to the weary a word that will rouse them. Morning after morning he opens my ear that I may hear;
And I have not rebelled, have not turned back.
I gave my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who plucked my beard; my face I did not shield from buffets and spitting.
The Lord God is my help, therefore I am not disgraced; I have set my face like flint, knowing that I shall not be put to shame.
He is near who upholds my right; if anyone wishes to oppose me, let us appear together. Who disputes my right? Let him confront me.
See, the Lord God is my help; who will prove me wrong? Lo, they will wear out like a cloth, the moth will eat them up.
Who among you fears the Lord, heeds his servant’s voice, and walks in darkness without any light, trusting in the name of the Lord and relying on his God?
All of you kindle flames and carry about your fiery darts; walk by the light of your own fire and by the flares you have burnt! This is your fate from my hand: you shall lie down in a place of pain.”

Who is this Servant, who makes Himself judge of men, that He can consign men to Hell? It is the Son of God, whom your fathers crucified! You walk by your own light, so you will be condemned by the Servant you rejected.

        • ahad ha'amoratsim

The United States formed with Moses in mind, the deliverance, and freedom through law. The Founders created created the Constitution to manifest something in a new world, and that something is the same as the manifest message of Moses.

That something is in the crosshairs of the Obama nation. Israel in three dimensions, USA in two dimensions, Israel the actual and USA the idea, a sort of merged target, independent of one another, but almost certain to die, if die either must, together.

    Christians better wake up, too.

Did the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem join “Palestine” with Hitler to fight Israel? But except in history, there WAS no Israel. So, what was the problem, then? That the Jewish idea is subversive to a Nazi jihad?

With all due respect, most Christian denominations would not turn away a Jew who sincerely wants to convert to Christianity, just as Judaism accepts converts. It is one thing to drag someone to a baptismal font and quite another when he or she freely steps into a church.

I realize the whole conversion question is a very sensitive one for Jews. But in free countries, anybody is free to believe or not believe in the religion of their choice. For Christian faiths to accept anybody BUT Jews – well, wouldn’t that be anti-Semitic in its own way? How other Jews view the conversion is another question entirely.

Hate will only destroy the soul of anyone who tries to teach it.

The Arabs who have vociferously called for the destruction of Israel have no soul indeed. They cannot make rational decisions and are devoid of love even to their fellow arab kind. They sell their children’s souls for bombs and use their bodies for munitions. They revel in blood and seek it out in kind. They build a culture of death not knowing that that is the only path available to them because of their own actions. They seek happiness while sewing the seeds of misery, and will only reap the whirlwind. They not only march towards hell… they desire it.

The God that created us all–the God of Israel, Abraham, Jacob, and Ishmael–mourns for them, because they hate their own blood, and are blinded by this extreme hatred. I mourn for them, because they should be decent human beings, but they are worse than animals, and lower than the dust of the earth. They are led like a slave driven by his master.

I wish we didn’t have to fight them, but they will destroy us just to survive for a small bit longer before the only thing left for them to destroy is themselves. We can’t let that happen.

” at least keep watch for the Prophet Elijah, who will come in advance of the Messiah. Listen, O Israel, to the words of the Prophets! Hear the voice of the Lord”

Elijah is John the Baptist, who did come before the Messiah, this prophecy has been fulfilled. I would recommend a comparative religion study. Comparing various texts and perspectives will give a new meaning to much of the teachings, in the Bible and other sources as well.

Without stepping on anyones belief system, the Bible is just a book. It is a starting point and road map for the journey, it is NOT the destination. Writings should not be treated with any special consideration other than the meaning they may or may not convey.
The Messiah, Christ, etc, never wrote anything down, nor did he leave any physical objects behind. He wrote in the Sand and even then erased it. He knew full well humanity’s obsession with material objects, and the tendency to worship the object while completely missing the lesson or intent.

Maybe when people start practicing beliefs we can stop butchering each other.

Revelation 11, and even Jesus’ own words in Matthew 17, contradict that assessment. John the Baptist filled the role of Elijah for the First Coming, but in advance of the Second Coming, that prophecy will be literally fulfilled. Who the other witness is has been the subject of much speculation, but Elijah is one of the Two Witnesses.

    Product Description

In what we tell ourselves is an age of reason, we are behaving increasingly irrationally. An astonishing number of people subscribe to celebrity endorsed cults, Mayan armageddon prophecies, scientism, and other varieties of new age, anti-enlightenment philosophies. Millions more advance popular conspiracy theories: AIDS was created in a CIA laboratory, Princess Diana was assassinated, and the 9/11 attacks were an inside job.

In The World Turned Upside Down, Melanie Phillips explains that the basic cause of this explosion of irrationality is the slow but steady marginalization of religion. We tell ourselves that faith and reason are incompatible, but the opposite is the case. It was Christianity and the Hebrew Bible, Phillips asserts, that gave us our concepts of reason, progress, and an orderly world on which science and modernity are based.

Without its religious traditions, the West has drifted into mass derangement where truth and lies, right and wrong, victim and aggressor are all turned upside down. Scientists skeptical of global warming are hounded from their posts, Israel is demonized, and the US is vilified over the war on terror—all on the basis of blatant falsehoods and obscene propaganda.

Worst of all, asserts Phillips, this abandonment of rationality leaves the West vulnerable to its legitimate threats. Faced with the very real challenges of spiraling demographics and violent, confrontational Islamism, the West is no longer willing or able to defend the modernity and rationalism that it once brought into being.

    About the Author
Melanie Phillips is an award-winning columnist for London’s Daily Mail. Educated at Oxford, she won the Orwell Prize for journalism in 1996. She is the author of Londonistan, All Must Have Prizes, and other books. Her regular blog appears on the Spectator website.

First, how can you write such misinformed garbage. You clearly do not even read the articles you have quoted. 24,293 is not how many have died since the state of Isreal was created but since 1860. Not to mention that of the deaths counted for last year “Most of the 133 whose names are being added to the memorial rolls this year died in traffic or work accidents, while some of the others were disabled veterans whose disabilities contributed to their deaths.” Compare this to the numbers I have read of Palestinians killed since the create of Israel, over 100,000 and we see there is a disparity. I do not think one side is right or the other side is wrong. Both have legitimate claims. However, it is offensive to all the people who have been killed on both sides of the conflict to misquote numbers to create sympathy just for one side. Clearly the only solution is a two states. In order to negotiate you have to have compromises, and Israel showed bad faith in the negotiations by granting the building permits, something it knew would piss off the other side. Whether they had a right to grant the permits is besides the point when you are trying to negotiate a change in norm. I am very much pro Jew, but that does not mean I am anti everyone else.

What an article!!! It pains me to read what you have written because all of it is so true. As we watch the “court Jews” pay court to and tiptoe around the tyrant Obama I am reminded of history and its repetitions: how many Jews knew of the murders of their people in Germany and did nothing about it. The mind boggles to see what is taking place once again. The T-Party Protest I attended in DC yesterday had several people there who flew flags in support of Israel. One of the speakers mentioned our continued support. And yet…wanna bet Abe Foxman has us right on top of his list of hate groups? I don’t understand the problem with Irvine…if Jewish students are not safe there, then, why, are the sons and daughters, of the college administrators, safe, where they go to school? Fight fire with fire. Americans can’t stand people who won’t defend themselves.
