What the….???

If you don’t know what twerking is yet, I’ll explain it one more time. To “twerk,” as the kids say, is not your average Jennifer Gray/Patrick Swayze dirty dancing. In fact, it makes their bump and grind look like the foxtrot. I was in Oklahoma last year hanging out with my cousins at a rodeo bar (yeah, I know it’s cliché but when in OK City, it’s A-Ok to go full-on cowgirl). I was beyond perplexed when I realized I brought my red leather cowboy boots down hard on some poor girl’s fingers on the dance floor. What were her fingers doing on said dance floor, you might ask? She was twerking. Imagine, if you can, what kind of position a girl must be in to have her hands on the floor and ass in the air, while gyrating around like an acrobat on LSD. It’s not pretty. In fact, it’s pretty ugly. I can tell you that I and the five other people I was with had a great time discussing and laughing (as was the guy she was twerking on, btw). No one thinks this is sexy. It’s a big joke. It’s as if the guys in the room (not men) are all waiting to see who they can fool into trying this “move,” which is nothing more than a scene from a XXX movie.

This video pretty much sums up how ridiculous and stupid people look while twerking.

So, what can you do about it, you who have daughters and a sick feeling in the pit of your stomach that they too might slide down the way of tongue-out twerking?

Well, some girls will go down the wrong road no matter what you do. People have free will and that includes making bad choices. As my mother said (there were 6 of us kids), they're all different. We took different roads with the same parents.

However, rule #1 is IMHO the most important. Treat your wife/woman in your life they way you will want your daughter treated by her husband. Set a high standard for her expectations. She will only expect to be treated as well as she sees you treating your wife. You're the archetype dad - just as Mom is the archetype for the boys, setting their expectations for how they'll be treated.

Doesn't hurt your girls at all to teach them how abortion is all about reducing women to being sex objects. Degrading and reducing them from valued partners, potential mother's to ones children, to just a warm moist hole willing to create and then kill their own flesh and blood. Along with the children of whatever man happens to enter the hole.

And if you do it right, she will bring forth grandchildren, which is your reward! My daughter and husband, live close. I get to see my grandsons every day! That's awesome!

RE: sl*t-shaming

I don't see the problem in shaming bad behavior.

Re: TV

Monitor the football, some of those commercials are very inappropriate for children.

Hey, Megan Fox, regarding the Feminist entry, you might want to be careful about that section, since there are plenty of "fauxminists" who basically advocated that men were sexist pigs and that women weren't even educated, made literate or intelligent until the 1960s (and I'd know, because I had a World History up to the 1500s professor who actually claimed this).

It's not just the parents of girls that have to teach their kids to behave decently.

Most definitely, and mothers and fathers of boys have to step up and teach boys to be decent and moral beings, and how to protect themselves from bad women. Ms Fox, as her bio notes, has two young children, and she doubtless wants them to be decent and moral and know how to protect themselves from bad men. It is not a good strategy to have to rely on the better nature of horny frat boys who may not have been raised to be decent and moral beings, so this article is directed at parents of girls.
Perhaps an article of 10 things to teach sons so they can be decent, moral and masculine adults, productive and appropriately protective of others.
