This is all new to me. How did Oswald have access to classified info about U-2s? Was Oswald a trained sharpshooter? If so, did he get his training in Russia? And if he were a trained sharpshooter, why would he buy a mail order rifle? Was the rifle modified?
How did parts of JFK's brain wind up on the trunk of the car, if he was hit from behind? If Ruby were disinterred, would radioactive poisoning still be present in his body? How was Ruby recruited by Castro or PGU? Why was Oswald let back into the USA? I appreciate any answers anyone can give. I really appreciate an article like this. Fascinating, but not that comprehensible to a novice.

Oswald's wife, Marina, is now touting his innocence. If Oswald was a Soviet agent, clearly his wife knew. It's very telling she didn't mention to the FBI the note from Oswald which explained to her what to do if he were arrested.

Yeah, new to me too. There are still many questions beyond reach; often we're left with nothing but conjecture.

Marina, maybe, best protects herself by lying and sticking to her story. So much of the evidence is circumstantial. Still, there's lots of smoke.

At the risk of sounding shoolmarm-ish, Mr P's account needs cleaning up a bit. No place for typos and errors of usage and punctuation at this level. The Russians are at least as good at this as we are.

Entirely plausible that he was KGB, PGU or whatever relevant acronym fits. A little less plausible that, if so, the Soviets would believe that the US could not expose his cover. And OTOH I guess they were very good at what they did...and there were lots of powerful Americans who hated Kennedy.

This will never be solved, not definitively.

Evidence of CIA and FBI planned coup d'etat is overwhelming. JFK had four bullet wounds, rear entry right shoulder, rear entry back of skull, front entry throat and front entry right temple that blew skull and brain matter on to limo trunk. Bystanders were hit by splatter on the Elm Street from a shot that hit the concrete curb, one round hit the front windshield limo frame, two rounds were found in the roadside grass and Connelly was NOT hit by a 'magic bullet'. Visit Veterans Today for a series of articles on this public execution by the ruling Demonic Warlords.

You do realize that the "Conspiracy within the American Government" to kill off JFK was disinformation by the Soviets, right? Pacepa (who definitely would know, being one of the USSR's top intelligence officers before defecting to the USA) pretty much made that clear.

Know the difference between the Kennedy generation and the Clinton kiddies?
Kennedy was boffing Marilyn Monroe (among others) Clinton was getting hummers from a chubby valley girl. Says it all.

I met Marina Oswald, though she now goes by another name, at a party where several people who knew Lee Harvey and Marina, who had been around in Dallas at the time of Kennedy was assassinated, were talking about it. Everyone, including the former wife, seemed to think the original is the only valid story.

The Russians didn't need any secret intelligence to bring down the U-2.

They just needed to know where it was, and to fire SAM S-2's at it. (Even though it flew at subsonic speeds the U-2 flew at such high altitudes that none of their planes, nor their SAM S-1's, were capable of bringing it down. The newer S-2's could, and did.)

Recent evidence demonstrates this is incorrect. See pages 254-255 of Disinformation:

The jewel in the crown of Soviet disinformation connected with Oswald’s story is the recently published revelation that the U-2 spy plane flown by Powers over the Soviet Union was not shot down by Soviet rockets, as the Russians have always claimed, but by a Sukhoi Su-9 plane that had been especially modified to achieve higher altitudes by having its weapons removed. According to the recently published revelations of Soviet Capt. Igor Men¬tyukov, the pilot of that airplane, he had caught the U-2 in the slipstream of his unarmed Su-9, causing the U-2 to flip over and break its wings. The salvo of Soviet rockets had indeed scored a hit, downing a pursuing MiG-19, but not the U-2.23 (In an article about the downing of Powers’s U-2 plane, published in the US in 2000, Khrushchev’s son Sergei acknowledged that the Soviets fired three SA-2 rockets, but only one ignited. Unsure about their success, the Soviets fired thirteen further antiaircraft missiles, but the later rockets hit a pursuing MiG-19 piloted by Sr. Lt. Sergey Safronov, who was posthumously awarded the Order of the Red Banner.24)

According to Captain Mentyukov, the U-2 flight altitude was higher than the altitude the Soviet rockets could reach. He also noted that the pilot of the U-2 plane would have certainly died if his frail plane had been hit by a rocket.25

It seems that, after Oswald provided the KGB with the highly secret flight altitude of the U-2 plane, the KGB prepared a specially modified air¬plane, keeping it ready to intercept the US spy plane. This measure provided an additional bonus: the U-2 pilot was captured alive. Khrushchev did indeed parade Powers and used him as propaganda.

The Soviets had radar on the U-2 for most of its route. They also knew from tracking it over several sorties what its basic route and timing was. Child's play from there to launch a missile or aircraft at it. Don't need a spy.

Right. The only thing they needed a spy for is when a U2 Spy Plane was to be launched and the route. The timing will just be calculated by the main military officers in charge of the missile.
