It Begins: Good Morning America Blames Tea Party for Dark Knight Massacre *Updated*
On Good Morning America, ABC News’ Brian Ross and George Stephanolpoulos suggested that the Tea Party might be connected to the mass shootings early this morning in an Aurora, CO theater during a screening of the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises. The mainstream media attempted to blame the Tea Party for the Tuscon shootings in January 2011, shortly after Republicans swept the midterm elections. Now, in the critical 2012 elections, the mainstream media seems poised to do the same–and ABC News has led the way.
Here is the exchange between reporter Brian Ross and host George Stephanopoulos about apparent suspect James Holmes:
Stephanolpoulos: I’m going to go to Brian Ross. You’ve been investigating the background of Jim Holmes here. You found something that might be significant.
Ross: There’s a Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colorado, page on the Colorado Tea party site as well, talking about him joining the Tea Party last year. Now, we don’t know if this is the same Jim Holmes. But it’s Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colorado.
Stephanolpoulos: Okay, we’ll keep looking at that. Brian Ross, thanks very much.
I’ll update as the inevitable scapegoating continues. Links to relevant news stories, tweets, and blog posts in the comments are appreciated.
Update 6:50 AM PST: The Belfast Telegraph reports on the president’s response to the shooting and the youngest victim:
President Obama urged the nation to “come together as one American family”.
….
Some of the injured were children, with the youngest a three-month-old baby. Victims were being treated for chemical exposure apparently related to canisters thrown by the gunman.
Local reporter Justin Jones said the gunman was wearing body armour and a gas mask.
“The attacker shot a baby at point blank range,” he said.
Another eyewitness, James Cameron, said the baby girl was shot in the back.
Update 7:12 AM: ABC news reveals the shooter’s mother is not surprised that her son would commit this horrible act:
A San Diego woman who identified herself as James Holmes’ mother told ABC News she had awoken unaware of the shooting and had not yet been contacted by authorities. She immediately expressed concern that her son may have been involved.
“You have the right person,” she said, apparently speaking on gut instinct. “I need to call the police… I need to fly out to Colorado.”
Update 7:18: Mother Jones staff writer Stephanie Mencimer tweets:
Update 7:45: In These Times “labor journalist” Mike Elk:
Elk then decided to retweet these statements:
Elk then expressed his main concerns regarding this tragedy:
Update 8:10: Kevin Drum of Mother Jones:
Update 8:22: Gawker highlighting disturbing images, allegedly uploaded by one of the victims from the Emergency Room:
Update: 8:25: Politico reports that ABC is backing off from the irresponsible Tea Party reporting:
An earlier ABC News broadcast report suggested that a Jim Holmes of a Colorado Tea Party organization might be the suspect, but that report was incorrect. Several other local residents with similar names were also contacted via social media by members of the public who mistook them for the suspect.
Update: 8:36: Cenk Uygur, “Host of @TheYoungTurks on @Current TV and the largest online news show in the world. @TYTonCurrent,” reacts:
Update 8:50: David Sirota at Salon has decided to use this tragedy to begin a debate about whether we should use the word “terrorism” to describe acts such as this:
For all the legitimate questions that will be asked in the coming days (Why are there so many mass shootings in America? Why is it so easy to buy weapons-grade tear gas canisters? How much is this related to the availability of guns?); for all the insulting media coverage that will try to ramrod the dead Fargo-style into the woodchipper of the presidential campaign (New York Times headline: “In Wake of Colorado Shooting, a Concern Over the Proriety of Campaigining”); and for all the demagogues who will use this tragedy for their own gain (pro-gun GOP Rep. Loui Gohmert is today blaming the shooting victims for not being armed) – there is only one harrowing conclusion we can come to for certain immediately after such a heinous act: terrorism has no specific nationality, geography, race or creed.
Not surprisingly, police and reporters have been quick to tell us the opposite — that the suspected shooter was likely just a “lone wolf” and that “this act does not appear to be linked to radical terrorism or anything related to Islamic terrorism,” as ABC News put it. This newspeak is supposed to reassure us that this is anything but terrorism — that terrorism is something that happens only in far away places or huge cosmopolitan cities, not in an Anytown, USA in the American heartland; that terrorism never comes at the hands of a “24-year-old white American male” named “James Holmes,” it only comes at the hands of dark-skinned “evildoers” with hard-to-pronounce names. In this, we are expected to be sedated by such reassurances, and to ignore the ever-growing list of such “lone wolves”, and to reject a much wider definition of terrorism, no matter how much the reality of shooting after shooting after shooting screams at us to accept it.
But with bodies strewn across an Aurora movie theater, we must ask: what is terrorism, if it is not a man in a riot mask and bullet-proof vest, armed with tear gas canisters and weapons, meticulously executing a military-style assault on a crowded movie theater?
Just because something is “terrifying” it does not mean it’s an act of “terrorism.” The term “terrorism” refers to violent acts inflicted in order to intimidate a population into submitting to political or cultural revolution. Here’s the dictionary definition:
ter·ror·ism
[ter-uh-riz-uhm] Show IPA
noun
1.
the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes.2.
the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization.
3.
a terroristic method of governing or of resisting agovernment.
A mass murderer who wants to “watch the world burn” is not a terrorist like Al Qaeda is and Bill Ayers was.
Update 9:27: I’ve taken the last update with Sirota and highlighted it as its own post here along with an excerpt on the subject of evil from Dennis Prager’s new book:
Some Men Just Want to Watch the World Burn
Update: 9:53: From the Huffington Post: Colorado Shooting: What We Know About James Holmes:
Lt. Andra Brown of the San Diego Police Department briefed reporters outside James Holmes’ mother’s home Friday. Brown confirmed Holmes attended high school in San Diego before going to Colorado to pursue additional studies. Brown would not name either school.
San Diego media outlets have reported Holmes attended high school at Westview in Carmel Valley. He was also reportedly pursuing a PhD in neuroscience at University of Colorado-Denver. He supposedly enrolled in the fall of 2011, but dropped out in June.
…
Police are still trying to clear the suspect’s Aurora apartment. According to police, explosives found inside the unit are “very sophisticated” and could take some time to disarm.
…
The FBI has revealed Holmes is a white male who is 6 feet, 3 inches tall and 24 years old, with a birth date of Dec. 13, 1987. Authorities have found no significant criminal record and no terrorist affiliations. Investigators suspect he acted alone.
A motive in the shooting is not yet known.
Update: 10:00: Twitchy collects Tweets from those choosing to blame Rush Limbaugh for inspiring the shooting.
Update: 10:08: Twitchy also highlighted comedian D.L. Hughley’s response to the massacre:
Update: 10:45: From the influential progressive blog Crooked Timber, and promoted in a tweet by Slate writer Matthew Yglesias:
One of Yglesias’s followers made the argument more openly:
A few months ago I blogged through every chapter of Afrolantica Legacies, a book written by Derrick Bell, the founder of Critical Race Theory and one of Barack Obama’s intellectual mentors. In part 7 I noted where Bell chose to blame unemployment for inspiring inner city drug dealers to break the law. This is a common way that progressives choose to shift responsibility for evil acts away from individuals and toward “society.”
11:13 Update: PJ Media’s Editor-In-Chief Roger L. Simon at his blog this morning:
Time to Curtail Violence in Film
I am not calling for censorship here, nor for gun control laws, but for a modicum of self-censorship on the part of the filmmakers and the film and television industries. They should ask themselves to what end is the violence they are portraying and whether it need be so explicit. Can they make their points as effectively, perhaps more effectively, without the endless splatter and gore?
…
Hitchcock’s Psycho and Fritz Lang’s M (about a serial killer), scary as they may be, are considerably less explicit than Natural Born Killers and considerably better artistically as well, yet it is Natural Born Killers that is said to have inspired copycat crimes.
I blogged about Stone’s most recent film Savages two weeks ago here at PJ Lifestyle.
One of the copycats inspired by Stone’s film was Columbine — the two killers debated over whether Quentin Tarantino or Steven Spielberg would do a better job making their life story. Instead they got Gus Van Sant with 2003′s Elephant, a quiet, very overrated art film that featured a scene where the two shooters kiss before beginning their massacre.
Update 11:32: From ABC News: Aurora ‘Dark Knight’ Suspect James Holmes Said He ‘Was the Joker’:
The man in custody for allegedly killing 12 people at the screening of the latest Batman movie in Aurora, Colorado told authorities after the shooting that he “was The Joker,” NYPD police commissioner Ray Kelly said today.
Kelly told reporters the suspect, identified by federal officials as 24-year-old James Holmes, had dyed his hair like The Joker. The Joker is a well-known villain in the fictional Batman universe. The attack took place at a screening of “The Dark Knight Rises,” the final movie in a Batman trilogy, following “The Dark Knight” in which The Joker was the principal villain.
Two federal law enforcement officials confirmed the details of The Joker costume to ABC News. Police said the weapons used in the massacre include a military-style AR-15 assault rifle, a shotgun and two handguns.
Update 2:07 PM: I’m continuing the afternoon coverage in a new post here at PJ Lifestyle:
What Does Israel’s Prime Minister Have to Do With the Horrific Dark Knight Shooting?
***
More coverage at PJ Tatler:

While it makes sense, once you get the suspect’s name, to look for matching names as close to the shooting site as possible, you don’t freakin’ go on the air with it until you’ve pinned it down, especially when you’re dealing with a common first and last name (i.e., if you had starting looking though all the John Hinkleys in the Washington area 31 years ago after the Reagan assassination attempt and broadcasting them on the airwaves, you would have ended up with a bunch of slander suits, since as it turned out the gunman hailed from Colorado).
Since this administration is already guilty of supplying assault weapons to Drug Cartels with the intention of folks getting killed in order to bolster support for Gun Control, I can see no reason NOT to suspect this was, “ahem”, Inside Job…
Its perfect….the sympathetic media now has a bigger story than “you didnt build that” to make the centerpiece of coverage for roughly the next 100 days (between now and November?).
The Tea Party Reference was perfectly on-cue, watch them use this to rescue Obama…
“never let a crisis go to waste”
And with Gunwalker: “if there is no crisis, MAKE ONE”
I’m sorry, but this is as crazed as the comments of the vile creatures who are blaming this tragedy on the Tea Party.
Please, just shut it until we have the facts, ok? It’s hard enough defending against the accusations that we’re a bunch of crazed idiots on the right without there being actual, crazed idiots on the right.
When it looks like a duck….
No. No. Root is absolutely spot on right.
Those of us old enough to remember the 60′s and 70s, heck, even the 80′s and 90′s, have seen all of this before.
My mother, born in 1916, remembers well FDR’s antics and union violence.
My Gran, born in 1885, remembers the anarchists and the Palmer riots.
For gosh sakes, the Movement are professionals, with decades of practice.
They learned their craft from their fathers and grandfathers- think of Islamic culture, Chinese tongs, medieval bishops, Roman emperors, or Jewish kings. Deceipt and disruption are an old, old book.
It’s possible that James Holmes was acting on somebody’s orders for political purposes, but I doubt it.
If he was, somebody would have tried to play Jack Ruby on him already.
(And no, I’m not claiming conspiracy in that case either. I will say that, were it not for Jack Ruby, conspiracy theories would have been settled a long time ago.)
As far as I know, James Holmes is in custody now. We should soon know considerably more than we do now.
My mother, born in 1916, remembers well FDR’s antics and union violence. My Gran, born in 1885, remembers the anarchists and the Palmer riots.

Are you saying your grandmother is still alive? Because if you are, she’s the oldest living person in the entire world at 127 years old. In fact, she’s the oldest person who has EVER lived, according to this Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oldest_people
Mind you, they admit that verification of old people’s ages is a relatively recent phenomenon so others may have lived longer than the names shown in their lists but just lack for documentation.
If your grandmother has passed away, you should have used the past tense in stating her memories and avoided saying something that appears ludicrous on the face of it, namely that you are a direct descendent of the oldest living person.
Sorry if this seems pedantic but this is the sort of thing that distracts some people (me at least) from whatever point you are making.
While I may not explicitly endorse Root’s view, the details in this case are certainly extraordinary. Lone gunmen in America are typically not outfitted with this much top of the line modern police/military-style hardware. They typically do not have such squeaky clean personal backgrounds that could, theoretically, allow them to escape scrutiny either before or after the attack. And often, they do not get taken alive.
All of these things add up to something very suspicious. I’m not willing to say it was an “inside job”,but based on my own studies of events like these, this is pretty remarkable. We know the F&F scandal was intended as a means to limit gun ownership, and it failed. We know that “You didn’t build that” has caused considerable pressure for Obama as of late.
I think it is our duty as Americans to ask very tough questions about this incident, and to probe the information available to glean the most complete picture we can. We need to ask more than the typical shallow “How could this happen/how could this have been prevented?” questions we normally ask during times like this.
We need to ask how a guy who’s 24 years old, with no police or military training that we know of, came to carry out such a well-executed attack using sophisticated military/police hardware and how he was able to fabricate a “very sophisticated” series of booby traps in his residence.
I agree with others that we must show the greatest sensitivity and consideration to the victims and their families, but let’s not allow anything to deter us from asking these questions and receiving the most complete answers to them we can obtain. This whole thing reeks to high heaven. The victims and their families deserve an answer beyond “Let’s do away with the second amendment and then crime will magically vanish from the country.”.
ABC issued an “apoligy”, of course, but two hours later. So all the leftist algae who now have their heads filled with another Brian Ross Tea party guilt by association, are happy. They won’t hear the retraction. The die has been cast.
Always remember that for the Left, it’s the narrative that matters, not the facts.
I’m sorry to hear America has yet another tragedy. Why was there no CCW person in the theater to put this dog down at the first shot?
Your Left self-righteously pound their chests and “make hay” with this, not because what they say is correct, but because it follows The Narrative. I’m shocked that there is racist slant to it yet. But the day is still young.
Now, a moment of prayer for the survivors and the deads’ families.
3 WITNESSES COME FORWARD THAT SHOOTER WAS TEA PARY MEMBER !!!
According to Sean Penn, Danny Glover and Susan Sarandon…….
I am not a fan of ABC News, but it’s not scapegoating if it’s true and if they don’t sensationalize it. If it is not true or if true and they run with it – then you are right.
They haven’t verified that it’s true that he’s a Tea Partier.
Okay. I didn’t see the report so I can only accept others’ comments. I am sure that you are right in the larger sense, though. Columbine was exploited by Moore and others, etc. etc. I did notice that CNN referred to him as a ‘white male’ (there is CNN easily available in Israel), and did so several times. Highly doubt that were he Afro-American they would have repeatedly said ‘African-American male.’
The hate goes on..
Except to those who demonize the Tea Party, it wouldn’t matter if he WAS a member. This guy is no more typical of Tea Partiers (far from it) than he is of any normal American. Even if he possessed Right-wing political beliefs, and even if those beliefs informed his actions, that doesn’t mean that the many millions of the rest of us would ever contemplate, let alone perpetrate, such a heinous act. It goes against our VALUES. =’[.]‘=
Also at Breitbart, the man ABC is “hoping” is the shooter (because they want so badly to blame the Tea Party) is in his 50′s and the shooter is 24.
Well isn’t that just precious? Too bad we will never have the opportunity for this guy to get in Stephanolus’ grill about it….
There are several James or Jim Holmes in that area of Colorado. Why did they only report on the Tea Party-affiliated one? Considering the political firestorm that would ensue if Tea Party James was indeed the shooter, they should have been MORE not LESS vigilant about putting that on the air. However, it fit their narrative and they ran with it.
On-air speculation is not reporting, and I’m pretty sure Tea Party James will find plenty of attorneys willing to step up to the plate if he doesn’t take too kindly to being named a mass killer on national TV.
The mainstream media initially said the same thing about the shooting of Gabby Giffords in Arizona. They later found out that the shooter was just an insane man with no political motives. Funny how you never see them jump to the conclusion that the shooter was a far-left liberal attached to the Democratic Party. Strange how that works out.
The killer, like most mass murderers, was probably an insane person who somehow got hold of dangerous weapons. People like this usually show signs of severe mental illness, like the killer in Arizona did before he started shooting. What I would like to know is if people around this guy in his private life knew he was mentally ill and what, if anything, they did about it. These types of cases often show that what people do NOT do about the mentally ill usually ends up harming a lot of people.
There’s really not much you can do with a mentally ill person if they don’t want to be treated unless they make a direct threat or take overt action. We threw the baby out with the bathwater in the ’60s and ’70s in “reforming” mental health laws and now have lots of raving lunatics roaming freely.
Might I add that this is where the first great wave of “homeless people” came from that Reagan supposedly created when in fact the feel good left emptied our mental institutions in the 70′s, handed the patients a bag of pills and told them to have a nice day. If they don’t take their pills, which is common, then they must be members of the Tea Party. Obviously some of these unfortunate souls should not be on the street.
How a supposed journalist, before anything whatsoever is known about the murderer (Whoever invented the ‘Shooter’ nonsense should be shot) can do a name search and come up with a story line like this is beyond the pale, but what I have come to expect from the MSM.
I’ll bet $3.56 that this guy is either non-political or a raving OWS/left wing nut job off his meds.
“I’ll bet $3.56 that this guy is either non-political or a raving OWS/left wing nut job off his meds”
Like Jared Loughrey and James Lee (Discovery Channel hostage-taker, inspired by Al Gore)
How odd– how very, very odd–
just 2 or 3 days ago left-wing radio was talking about the problems ‘Reagan caused when he tossed the mentally ill to the alley, to save money in the budget”
And about a week or so before, some ruminations on ‘white muslims’ or ‘white terrorists’
Not like they’re setting up a scenario or narrative or anything
aw, hell. I forgot the reason they were talking about the homeless mentally ill- BECAUSE OF THE NEED FOR GUN LAWS.
“What if some crazy street person got a gun?
It’s all Reagan’s fault!” was the meme.
4 different shows, back to back, same theme.
If that ain’t a signal setup, I don’t what is.
Actually….
The mainstream media found he was an man with proto-typical leftwing sentiments…a hard core pot smoker, a pseudo-anarchist (OWS type ahead of the curve?) an angry anti-right wing nut who was astonishingly similar to the majority of their rabid “shock troops” that are the backbone of every violent disturbance exclusive to their party
That he was “insane” is but a near natural element for people on that side of the political spectrum.
Jarred was one of “them”, not one of “us”.
Which is why as soon as the smoke cleared, his “motivations” were dropped from all the news coverage.
Watch this “other shoe” drop just as fast.
Yes, but this time they accused an individual private citizen- it’s whole different ball of wax.
In fact, it’s slander.
If it is reasonable to paint with broad brushes and assign collective blame for individual actions, then that must mean that all gays love violent racist child pornography like their hero activist Larry Brinkin.
Obviously, I am being sarcastic. Why is it that the media is all about collective blame if the crime may be linked to someone on the right, but it is all back to individual responsibility if they are in a protected group?
If the media is already pushing the “he’s a Tea Partier” meme, it we’ll probably discover the gunmen were actually OWS protesters – and the media will promptly bury the story.
Just sayin’. The MSM usually opens doors right into its own nose.
Personally, I think using this for politics before the bodies are even cold is despicable. A pox on Ross and Stephanolpoulos.
Soulless front men for a soulless invention of a President right out of, well, a bad movie as Bill Whittle explained in his video posted earlier.
What is the actual Tea Party site Ross is refering to. I’ve searched several CO TP sites and found no Jim Holmes.
http://denverteaparty.ning.com/events/event/listUserEvents?user=0yurc5erotx1c
Thanks. Not alot of info on Jim Holmes on Denver TP site. The population of Aurora, Co is a little over 300k. Think there might be more than 1 Jim Holmes?
You mean like the James Holmes from Aurora, Co? https://www.facebook.com/james.holmes.5437
Of course it would be racist to suggest this black man was the shooter. Who cares what the idiots on the left say. They can’t even pass a budget, there won’t be any gun control laws passed. And no one is going to show up to vote of the worst president in the history of this country because some six month old was shot by a black guy in Aurora or Chicago.
Ya think a real journalist might open a phone book? Ya think?
What’s a phonebook?
Dont expect any clarification on that…
Its been “said”, and thats all they need for OTHERS to repeatedly say:
“well, there WERE initial reports…”
Gee, why did they check THERE first?
How many Registered Democrats in Colorado with that name…
Many I’m sure.
Funny how they DIDNT say:
“Gee, we dont know ANYTHING about this guy yet, but we DID find a registered democrat with that name”, hmmm?
Everyone is talking about guns and politics. Why isn’t anyone talking about Denver having more “medical marijuana dispensaries” than Starbucks?
Everyone is talking about guns and politics. Why isn’t anyone talking about Denver having more “medical marijuana dispensaries” than Starbucks?
Let me take a stab at this, karl.
It’s off topic. Run along now.
Its not off topic…
It is just, as Karl states, that the MSM will NOT DARE discuss it, as it reveals just how Far Looney Left that area is, how they encourage and enable freakishly irresponsible behavior of all sorts, and how such social mores MIGHT precipitate tradjedies like this
It is as (no, more) relevant than any “right wing retoric” topics they pulled from their hat with ZERO evidence as “cause” in the Arizona shooting.
Wake up
I just knew that was coming. Right on time.
You blinkered, gullible dupe.
You are waaay too easy.
And what if it turns out that he was a convert to Islam? What kind of fancy word game will come into play from the White House and the pinko press?
It’s a two-step by the Fast n Furious crowd.
Remember Clinton’s Vast Right Wing ‘Christian Militias’?
Let me repeat a post from another of today’s articles:
Step 1: troll for and recruit olive-skinned excitable morons.
Give them dummy weapons- propane tanks in Times Square, toy planes, fireworks.
Step 2: troll for and recruit white-skinned excitable morons.
Give them live weapons and lots of encouragement at critical moments- such as Republican judges speaking in Tucson.
Step 3: Roll out the barking parrots! And Westboro Baptist Church!
*********************
Let me also add a delightful exchange!
(apologies and grats to several commentors)
I blame values.
I blame weed.
I blame Batman. Oh – and Bush
You forgot to blame Sarah Palin.
Let’s make sure we get ‘em all, though–add Romney to your list, for surely this happened because he wouldn’t release his tax returns–or maybe because he had his dog on top of the car.
HALLIBURTONKOCHBROS
Answer:
Unjustified Islamophobia by right-wing bigots and tea partyiers (same thing)is so widespread and CAUSES so much internal stress on these peaceful inocent members of the Religion of Peace, that they snap, poor things…
Its all our fault.
They will simply apply the same “excuse/cause” as they do with BLACK crime rates.
White racism (meaning, republican positions on..well, everything) are the root of all problems in America.
DUH!
Some Negroes in Virginia had the same perfect answer for everything-
some of the purest satire ever-
it went like this:
“You mean they gave the posthumous Image Awards to Biggie Smalls instead of Tupac Shakur?….
DAMN those Republicans!!”
Simply Amazing! In just a couple of hours we know more about some obscure crazy shooter in Colorado than we still know about Obama! Way to go media!
Since no one knows what the facts are, every talking head has certainty in their judgments, and all know that this will dominate the news cycles until the next one, I recommend looking for the news that will never be reported.
A three month old and a six year old were shot. Why were these babies in a movie house after midnight? Why were they exposed to a sadistically brutal movie? Profile their parents. Do they exist? As married couples? Do they work for a living?
How many attendees, of working age, planned on going to an employment this morning?
How many people, who knew the shooter, knew he had weapons and had criminal, or insane tendencies, but did not contact authorities?
When is the last time, he and his family attended church together?
When is the last time that the viewers of The Dark Knight Rises went, as a family, to church? Each made a choice to buy a ticket, but not give the money to charity. Explain this decision.
There are many people who are making money off this movie, and the many violent, depraved films that dominate our culture. How many regularly go, as a family, to church, give to charity, are chaste, and sober?
What are their scores in math and science, the two disciplines which form logical thinking processes? How many vote, can explain the issues, and why they voted as they did?
How long will this shooter live, after a court verdict, and where will he die?
There is a concept termed ethics, or morality which forms societal interactions. Report on these characteristics of the killer, his family, the attendees, and the movie industry.
After we learn these never reported facts, we may be able to assess the wholesomeness, the health of American society. And the scum of the earth.
According to reports, his mother in San Diego did. But let me tell you something from personal experience. Even if you suspect someone you know of being potentially dangerous, under law, there is absolutely nothing you can do about it until they actually do something violent. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that his mother did alert authorities.
how else to assemble a pool of possible recruits for followup and cultivation?
What do people think security databases are for?
Oops, sorry, forgot this was ‘unexpected’.
And He’s a christian! And He loves Amerikkka!
I know nothing; you may be correct, but a few things can be attempted. They have worked for me. His loved ones can contact their minister/ priest/ rabbi, his boss, a doctor, a close friend, and a cop. All should meet, without him, and discuss the problem. At a given time, all will meet with him, an intervention. It must be emphasized that these people want to help him in his pain. Anyone who kills and wounds scores of people was living in a hell.
The desired outcome? He should surrender his weapons, for a time, to a trusted friend who is comfortable in handling weapons, unloading, storing, etc. He should seek counseling. He should know that he is not alone; people know his situation. The key is his positive response, to help himself.
It may take another meeting. I have driven 1,000 miles, again, to get someone to accept that they are sick and need to be in an institution. And people will help accomplish this.
This is much better than attending a funeral you could have prevented.
To the other reply, this horror will not be unexpected to those who know him. They will have to live with their conduct, if they did not try to stop it.
I think that is also true of people who intend to do violence to themselves. Friends and family should try hard not to give up, but pull out all the stops and stalk them if you must. I have.
It won’t always work (people can be very clever when they’re determined) but there is a lot people can do even if you can’t get the unstable person committed.
The attempt is common to anyone who indicates a destructive intent, to themselves, or others.
A key consideration is placing yourself over a grave, and pondering whether all that was possible to avert this loss, was attempted.
One must live with reality: I did not have to win, but I had to try. I can live with this.
R.L.,
Sorry, but your comment sounds like it came right out of Mike Bloomberg’s mouth. Or Nancy Pelosi’s. Or Henry Waxman’s. You’re just goring a different ox.
1. You ask what a 3-month old and a 6-year old were doing in the midnight showing. If they’re with their parents they have every right to be there and their parents have every right to bring them there. (Though a 3-month old really should not be at a movie because they could disturb the other patrons. A first showing at midnight can have a festive atmosphere. As kids a number of us went to the midnight showings of the Star Wars films.
2. By the way: it’s summer, as in, no school. Kids staying up later in the summer is traditional as lemonade.
3. The Dark Knight Rises has sadistic violence? Have you actually seen the movie? I have. It has no more violence than Star Wars or Raiders of the Lost Ark.
4. Are people going to the midnight showing planning on going to work in the morning? Seriously? How is that any of your business?
5. Do they go to church? Again, how is that any of your business?
6. Finally, you want to know their math and science scores because those two fields form the basis for logic? After we’ve had story after story of scientists faking data to support a fraudulent theory of global warming? After other scientists had the bright idea to publish findings that could be used to weaponize the H5N1 virus?
I could go on, but wow. Your comment suggests that the far left and the far right are so twisted as to be indistunguishible from each other. As to be incompatible with a society based on freedom and individual liberty.
We disagree. Your address legal rights, and liberty; they are vitally important. However I address personal responsibility, and accountability which is the bedrock of our society, and is sorely lacking in this generation.
I do not watch action hero movies; they are appealing to juveniles, not old geezers like myself. I used the terms,”sadistically brutal movie”, as they were the words of a movie critic. Babies watched a sadistically brutal movie. You might ponder the enormous divide between your world view and other Americans.
This is not a left or right issue. It goes much deeper, how we conduct ourselves, how we make decisions.
How many James Holmes live in the U.S.? What a ridiculous conversation.
James Cameron was watching a midnight showing of Batman in Colorado and has come forth as a witness?
Isn’t he busy off making another Titanic movie or something these days?
Like he would go out in public without armed security.
Got that right….
James Holmes- the shooter is 24 years old.
James Holmes- the tea party web registration is 50 years old.
Must be the same guy!
Investigative journalism at its finest.
I remember clearly the initial news coming out of Dallas the day Kennedy was shot. The line was, Dallas, city of right wing extremism and hate. Needless to say when we found out that Oswald was a hard line pro communist who had lived in the Soviet Union and married the daughter of a KGB colonel, his background wasn’t so important after all. The Leftist personality type never changes.
Breitbart has documents that suggest he is a registered Democrat. The man is the same age as the suspect, has a social security number from CA where his Mom is from and also has a speeding ticket on his driving record.
If more people had guns he would have been shot dead after he fired the first few shots. Look at what happened in Florida in the internet cafe.
The theater complex is one of those “gun free zone.” CCW people not welcome.
I agree with the sentiment, “Never let a “good” crisis go to waste.” , that is the liberal mantra.
One person with a concealed gun would have probably ended this.
The same scenario and the news always brings out the usual:
>Teaparty
>Guncontrol
>Dems will figure out a way to draw up sum bizarre legislation for their 15 minutes in the spotlight
>look for someone to tie this with Romney in some contrived way
If he would have hollered “allahu akbar” Obama would be sympathetic as not to offend the Muslim population
Never would have happened in Texas, conceal and carry laws and such, guy would have been too scared to go into the theater for fear of 10 people shooting him.
I think this should push for looser gun control laws rather than stricter, and have more people carrying.
I was about to say the same thing. Gun fighting is not that hard to learn and training is readily available. One or two armed parents would have found their training kick in and ended this sob’s life quickly.
I blame Hollywood. All these dead and injured are directly the fault of the vicious, violent Marxists in Hollywood. They have spent decades filling America’s minds with filth, mayhem, horror, and every form of immoral, desensitizing image and sound imaginable. They created this mad man, chose his targets, and let him loose like one of their faux, mass-slaughtering screen heroes. Hollywood, with its celebrity and privilege, has given us the gangsta scene on every inner city in America, the elevation of the anti-American fiction of Dunham/Soetoro/Obama, and the contempt and condemnation of every other nation on the planet with their false images of Americans. I blame Hollywood.
Damn straight…
Funny how they are always the FIRST ONES to jump up and say we have to watch our (politcally incorrect) words and deeds, images, scripts and dipictions, so we dont “influence the children” with the wrong social attitudes, aint it?
Silly, they’re only worried about watching what we say and do when it might instill ideas about “heteronormativity”,or the “belief” that it is normal for species that have two sexes to reproduce heterosexually. In all seriousness, though,I disagree with both those on the right and on the left that censorship of any kind is the answer. We don’t surrender our right to bear arms because terrorists commit acts of terrorism on our soil,it is precisely during these moments that protecting our freedoms is MOST important. I feel similarly about art.
When you get right down to it, media doesn’t force anyone to do anything. We are all individuals who make choices, and putting this whacko’s choice to do evil off onto movies gives him a pass for his actions. “HE wasn’t responsible, those violent movies were!” See where I’m going with this? It wasn’t the movies,it wasn’t the guns,it was a violent psychopath who caused all of this suffering.
On a side note,I think I’ve recently discovered something. Maybe all of the gun control stuff we keep hearing out of liberals whenever these incidents happen, coupled with the fact that it is almost ALWAYS a liberal who does it, is their way of telling us they aren’t responsible enough to handle the Second Amendment without coming out and saying it directly. As liberals usually do, they want to put it off on “society” and make us all equal partners in their faults and failures, but they’re practically screaming to us “TAKE OUR GUNS AWAY,BEFORE WE HURT ANYONE ELSE!”. Something to think about….
It doesn’t matter what affiliation this madman had. There is no mainstream political entity in America today that advocates mass homicide as an overarching part of their philosophy.
Whether he was a staunch Dem or GOP is meaningless.
No, because Leftists have never thought that people “need to die” in order for them to get what they want.
Bill Ayers, close friend (but don’t let Barack the Sun King hear that) of our current President/Sun King _certainly_ never said that he needed 25 Million people killed off for his philosophies to work.
Leftists ALWAYS fantasize about killing those they dislike.
“There is no mainstream political entity in America today that advocates mass homicide as an overarching part of their philosophy”
Seriously?
We “need” a Mi lei Massacre type event in GW’s IRAQ to turn public opinion against the war. This was spoken, hoped for, and encouraged by Liberal Media Democrats more than a few times. Mass Murder…for Political goals
OWS thugs calls regularly calls for violence and death/executions of capitalists. These are 99.999% Democrats making these statements
Animal rights and eco terrorists WANT reserchers and their kids harmed, thats why the publish their names, addresses, schools, and plant BOBBS in places they dont approve of. Democrats.
Bill Ayres, Black Panthers? Bombings that HAVE killed people? and open threats too “kill white cracker babies in their cribs” and zimmerman “wanted dead or alive”?
This is part and parcel of WHO and WHAT is behind the Democrats Political Machine. They certainly do not support the GOP. Not a single one of them.
The DNC does NOT EVER come out and condemn these obvious blatant and PRACTICED forms of violence and murder done on their behalf. The MSM does not even acknowedge that they’ve ever occured.
Violence…Murder…the threat of it, and its actual execution, is damn near an exclusive DEMOCRATIC PARTY phenomenon in this country.
Stop pretending we have two parties with ligitimate issues to discuss.
Democrats are proven Terrorists, reliable Marxists and viscious thugs who HAVE KILLED and advocate MORE killing, to advance their agenda.
Period.
Root: suggest that you resume taking your meds.
Facts need no meds Steve
Unless you need them to alter reality to fit your agenda…
Like your liberal buddies at ABC this morning?
Dems regulary “do” Political Violence, and regulary get a pass from the press.
Been that way since the 30′s
Case closed
None of those are mainstream. The closest, OWS, had fewer people across the entire U.S. at a protest than a single NFL game. The guy was nuts. There is no explanation or solution to this type of insanity. Depending on how determined he was, and being medical as well as acquainted with explosives, without access to guns, he may have simply blown the place up or made anthrax. It was an event without larger meaning. Crazy people often love attention.
“There is no mainstream political entity in America today that advocates mass homicide as an overarching part of their philosophy.”
The Greens.
The network just retracted this. Maybe they need to flash something like a cigarette health warning before each news segment.
If he didn’t have a gun, he would have found another way. Arson, explosion, if you want to kill people, you can make it happen.
It never ceases to amaze me that liberals think a new law would prevent these tragedies. Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think a person who is capable of mass murder would obey a government request to turn in his guns. But that is just me. And if anyone out there needs to know, it was the Short-Doyle Act here in California which started the de-institutionalizing (is that the right word?) of mentally ill people here in California, and started before Reagan was governor. I actually think it was the elder Governor Brown.
According to news reports –
Holmes was a Phd student in neuroscience at the University of Colorado at Denver, according to university spokesman Dan Meyers. He was in the process of withdrawing from the school, he said, and attended class at the medical school campus.
Not your run-of-the-mill crazy person, assuming this report is correct.
Interesting. He could have had access to some medications that would make marijuana look like candy….
This is a horrible tragedy and I find it appalling that everyone is using it as either anti-gun, political, or even pro-gun advertising. The only one to blame is the sick individual that committed this horrible act.
Jeremy,
Your point is very valid and noteworthy. This may be of interest to you: http://spectator.org/blog/2012/07/20/colorado-shootings-the-return
In the past, the news would report the news and leave the editorializing out of it. Over the years, the two-fold method of the news agencies using sensationalism to get ratings while also allowing the national socialists to vent their personal views has served to destroy the entity that used to be a free press. Sure, they have the right to print/speak whatever they want..but the personal responsibility aspect of it not only applies to the shooter in Denver, but to the people who report “the facts”.
But aside from the political aspect of it, there will always be random acts of violence. It cannot be stopped. People can be unpredictable. Again, it cannot be stopped.
Please don’t fall into the trap of believing that such things can be anticipated and prevented. Human beings are fallible and though due-diligence is an absolute requirement, and today’s people who SHOULD be diligent are demonstrably less than adequate (TSA), it is still a herculean task to predict the future and possible behavior of others.
The shooter is solely responsible for his actions. It’s not because he likes guns…or supports one political faction over another…or what he saw on TV…or what he read…or who he spoke to….no.
HE….is responsible for his actions. He killed. He violated the accepted human behavior guidelines and harmed others. He is responsible for it. He will be punished.
However, all the rest of what the media is doing is both distraction and immaterial. The Zimmerman case is another good point where the national socialists want everything tried in the court of public opinion, unless it could damage another national socialist. And that’s where I have a bone to pick. They have politicized everything. I think, in part, it’s ego-driven because the Brian Williams and Stephanopolous’s of the world cannot STAND just reporting the news. They consider themselves PART of the news and also assume they speak for everyone by spewing their nonsense.
They cannot be objective and just report what they observe, which USED to be the mark of an excellent journalist/reporter when the terms were still respectable.
Finally, people here are responding to the horrible actions the media is taking regarding the event in question. I’m sure we all feel sadness and want justice to be served, while also being compassionate to the family and friends of those killed and injured by the senseless act. But please don’t crucify us for expressing our frustrations.
Thank you, I liked the article you linked. Fits my feelings very well. I don’t hold anything agains anyone wanting to vent, it just gets frustrating when blame is shoveled all over the place.
I think the thing that disturbs me the most about this whole libelous affair is how willing those on the left are to believe this sort of terrible journalism. It begins to look like the tactics used in Germany during the 1930′s. First you falsely implicate them in some sort of outrageous event, you then vilify them, then demonize them, and at last you can separate them from the mainstream. I sincerely hope that someone sues these degenerate cretins at ABC into the dark ages. Enough is enough.
A bit of a tangent here, but I find it bizarre that this Mike Elk “progressive” type would say the right will use this “to fire up its workers”. Workers? The guy seems so brainwashed with Marxist claptrap that he uses the word “workers” as a default generic term for people. Not important, I know, but it’s just weird.
Well, think about it. A “worker” is one who works. There aren’t many examples of such on his side of things, is there?
It’s important to remember that Marxists and theit ilk regard human beings as things, animals or machines. Love of ‘humanity’ in the abstract and hatred of the individual in general is one of their distinguishing memes.
That kind of thinking combined with an insatiable need to control mankind is all that’s needed to set the stage for the the type of murderous psychosis that’s haunted the killing fields of the last century. Like Banquo’s ghost, it’s still with us. It’s what animates the current occupants of the White House today.
Expressed perfectly.
The media breathes a sigh of relief as unemployment numbers (real and imagined) continue to show bleak, barren landscapes.
Brian Williams: “SQUIRREL!”
Mike Elk: Aurora shooting happened only 15 miles from Columbine – what haven’t we learned about getting guns out of hands of mad men
How would you go about that, Mike? How would you, first, determine who the “mad men” are and, then, make sure they never get their hands on guns? Have you ever considered how many of the union workers you cover on your beat are gun owners? How many of them, do you suppose, might be mad men??
As I recall from the Columbine shooting, the only adults connected to the affair who acted with responsible adult authority were the gun shop owners who refused to sell weapons to the 18-year old girl acting as a beard buyer for Harris and Klebold.
It’s not that in a nation that individuals have guns has so many shootings…it’s that the nation actually has so few.
The way the national socialists paint it, they try to make it that because people who have guns are foaming-at-the-mouth right wing killers, yet the vast majority of murders with guns are committed by people who are arguably left-wing recipients of government largesse.
What the national socialists actually fear is a citizenry that won’t put up with brownshirts coming to their houses to tell them what to do. As they always have…as they always will.
It’s a sin that these shootings occurred. My heart breaks for each person’s love ones and for the survivors, whom I am sure many are in shock. My comment pertains to the fact that the democrats immediately pointed fingers at the tea party, claiming it was done by one of their members, backing off does not remove the accusation, which is all most people hear, but if you look at the facts, the only ones who would gain anything by a massive shooting at this particular time, with the UN and Obama and Clinton trying to take away our right to bear arms, would be the democrats. It would clearly give them a stronger argument and more public backing. Many people do not realize that many guns on the street are illegal and easy to get. I find it very sad to think that our government would go that far, but I would not put it past them. They have been sneaky and lied to us many many times in the past 3-1/2 years.
This pales beside the “Happyland” massacre in the Bronx in the late 80′s.
87 dead from a gallon of gas. How does gun control prevent that? JB
REASON TO KILL
1. The Movie WAS that bad the price of admission was too high, the popcorn really, really sucked.
2. Some folks just kept talking on their cell phones even after they were told to shut up.
3. The Theater was sold out and l’il Johnny didn’t get a ticket and missed the movie cause he got stoned and forgot the time.
4. The CGI was sooooo realistic John thought he was actually a part of the storyline.
5. The mothu fuka was batshit crazy.
liberals worried about access to guns in america…mikey bloomberg comes to mind.
liberals NOT worried about guns supplied by the obama admin to mass murdering mexican gangs.
why do liberals hate mexicans?
Re a comment above: if there can be right wing conspiracies, can’t there also be left wing conspiracies? If some conspiracies are wild speculation, does that mean there are no conspiracies ever?
Here’s a right wing but within-the-realm-of-possible, logical, translation of actual, established facts and events. Keep your mind open. Research anything you don’t believe.
–Hopey Dopey has many documented mentors and friends in his past who subscribe to Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals (Soros, Ayers, Rahm Emanuel etc etc etc).
–White House Chief of Staff Emanuel gave us unintended insight into this Administration’s beliefs when he quoted Alinsky’s maxim not to let a crisis be wasted.
–By his actions and by the appointees with whom he has surrounded himself, Obama has proven repeatedly that he believes in this “crisis” maxim.
–Alinsky further advises to encourage or create a convenient crisis if none yet exists.
–Fast and Furious is a well-proven example of Obama attempting to create a crisis to increase demands for stricter control. (As an aside, immediate approval to sell firearms to someone is illogical; background checks into a person’s mental health history should be a requirement everywhere and are one of those intrusions we must accept even though I don’t like it).
–Pick a battleground state and whip up a quick crisis that advances a Leftist cause. Before anyone pshaws me, the governors of non-battleground states Texas and Loisiana had difficulty obtaining adequate federal aid or even the President’s ear to discuss the Texas wildfires and BP oil spill when what he wanted to discuss was immigration and food stamps, respectively. Things that advanced his Leftist cause during a crisis.
–Examples of convenient, exploitable crises that *were* manufactured:
(1) In Florida, fan the flames of racial tension by picking a white on black crime through the Trayvon Martin case. (Note to self: make sure the white with the Germanic last name doesn’t look Hispanic. Oops. Not good for courting the Florida Hispanic vote, but a little Dream Act amnesty by Executive Order ought to fix that).
(2) In the Colorado and New Mexico battleground states, authorities have begun exploring the possibility of arson in the astronomically-expensive wildfires. Obama has given much-welcome federal assistance to desperate people, and then stumped as a savior hero in those states; he gets to push the global warming agenda as an added bonus.
(3) Colorado again.
–It would be possible to join various Tea Parties, learn their members, and spot the rare loonies. (Go to a meeting if you think the loonies are common and find out there are almost none in the Tea Parties, and those rare ones are discouraged from attending. Don’t assume or believe the media, and don’t believe me. Check the facts for yourself, maybe even attend a meeting before demonizing the Tea Party!)
–Having found your loony, encourage him to violence. (Obama wouldn’t do this? He’s already sanctioned putting guns in drug cartels’ hands and then not tracked them).
–This 24-year-old had an awful lot of money to fund his terrorist act. Kinda suspicious.
–Stump in Colorado in the wake of this tragedy. Blame lax gun control and the “radical” Tea Party. It’s win-win.
Only the naive believe in a long string of innocent but oh-so-convenient coincidences. I’m on the look-out for future convenient crises in other large battleground states.
It all makes sense if you don’t slam your mind shut to the logical possibility that all of this is deliberate.
Well, the perp certainly had Mall Ninja down! Auroro police weren’t specific enough to determine whether all his ballistic gear was the real thing or the “Airsoft” and similar stuff the paint ballers and Mall Ninjas usually have. The real stuff is VERY expensive and if his ballistic gear was real it was at minimum a couple of thousand dollars. Also, if it was real, he would have been pretty much immune to an armed response unless the person trying to stop him was a very, very good or very lucky shot. If you were going to “tool up” for home defense or SHTF, an AR-15 (civilian semi-automatic M-16), a Remington 870 12 guage, and two .40 cal. Glocks would be pretty much the standard kit and all of them available at most any gun store.
“if…[his ballistic armor]..was real, he would have been pretty much immune to an armed response…
Nope.
If two center mass hits dont stop him cold (because of body armour or drugs)empty the rest of the mag P.D.Q. into the groin/pelvis area…
Heads are too small and bob around alot, but the pelvis/hips/groin area is nice and big, and are near impossible to cover with armour due to mobility needs. Basically if he walked in there on his own, you can count his hips NOT being covered.
Shattering anyones hips/pelvis from with a few bullets equals falling down, period. Coked up/bath salts, whatever theyre on, you smash that “tripod” where legs and spine connect, they will go down every time.
Down is always better than up.
Down, at a minimum, buys you more time for other possibilities.
Run, reload, stomp, whatever.
No one, unless they are sealed INSIDE granite Sarcophagus , is ever “bulletproof”
The real question here is why were you watching “Good Morning America”?
It’s got to be the lamest show on television. Switch over to the BBC. They are just as bad but they talk funny and it can be amusing. You would do even better to hit the off button and go for a walk.
I know I am biased, but looking at this heartless murderer’s photo, I am too much reminded of some of the crazy libs I met in college. He has the same wild-eyed look I see in Nancy Pelosi. Honestly, I would be shocked if such a person were a conservative Tea Partier.
His photo made me think of Ted Bundy.
35. Art Chance
Not really. Police are trained to shoot center mass, which is what your body armor covers.
If you choose to get involved in the upcoming kinetic conflict resolution, you will learn to lower your aim. Hip and thigh shots. A little harder then center mass shots but most body armor doesn’t cover the thigh. Plus a shot there wounds the target which means A) he won’t be chasing you. B) his buddies will stop to take care of him. Buck and ball is supposed to work against body armor. At least in theory. The buck is supposed to shatter the plate, which is designed to shatter, leaving the ball to penetrate. I have never tried it. Coating bullets with teflon is pretty easy. Not sure that teflon works with the newer vests.
Teflon does not cause bullets to suddenly penetrate a vest when they didn’t before.
It’s a movie myth.
Teflon on bullets will certainly increase penetration, but its not something your average home re-loader can do.
Teflon(PFOA or PTFE, etc) is a very unique material that requires special co-processing WITH other carrier elements to make it “do things”…The teflon has to “become” teflon WITH whatever youre trying to attach it to, in a chemical stage a bit earlier in its molecular life.
Basically, you have an EXISTING piece of teflon (sheet, rod, tape, paste, whatever) AND another material, its really too late to properly join them together into something that will work in the way you’d like. You just cant make your own “teflon coated frying pan” at home from a cast iron pan, and sheets of teflon.
Sufficiently adhering it to a projectile, thats going to see extreme pressures, heat, friction and impact forces, and not simply “fall off” somewhere along the line, is even less realistic.
You might cobble something together that looks decent on the bench, but it wont work the way you’d like, if it does anything at all besides come apart in mid air, or seperate on impact thus providing no “lubrication effect” to the bullet.
As Steven Wright said some years ago…”I always wondered how they get the teflon to stick to the pan”.
“Also, if it was real, he would have been pretty much immune to an armed response unless the person trying to stop him was a very, very good or very lucky shot.”
Reading comprehension is a wonderful skill; you should try to develop it. According to the police, he had a vest, ballistic leggings, throat protection, groin protection, and a helmet. It would have taken a perfect shot or a really powerful weapon.
Headshot. It is more difficult but not by any means needing a perfect shot. Helmets, even military kevlar type are good for sharpnel from grenades and artillery from some distance but will do little to stop direct fire rounds, even from pistols. Where did this guy get a bomb suit, that is about all I have ever heard of with that kind of armor.
Five or ten CCW carriers would have mitigated this madman’s insanity.
Just one would have occupied his priorities long enough to save alot of others…maybe even all of them.
Remember, the MASSACRE continues till the NEXT gun shows up…
Then, its a FIGHT.
And thats a scalable formula too… (think 2nd amendment)
Police said the weapons used in the massacre include a military-style AR-15 assault rifle
Then the police are as ignorant of guns as the media are. He did not have a “military-style AR-15 assault rifle”.
Think the world isn’t upside down? We’ll be hearing yet again about legislation connected to disarming the disgruntled, a.k.a the Tea Party. The conversation will be about an “ongoing domestic terrorist threat.”
Concurrent to that, jihadi actions (i.e. case of Nidal Halik Nasan) will continue to be framed as lone wolf incidents devoid of the islamic backdrop.
Sorry, the idiot’s middle name is Malik, but I had something caught in my throat while I was typing.
Wow! Those tweets bring my blood to a boil. Specifically the ones that make references to “white men”. It’s horrific how these morons claim to fight racism yet will demonize whites every chance they get. “Hey man I’m a white so it’s ok to say that”. No it’s not! Someone explain the mental gymnastics where someone fights racism by using racism? God I hate these guys.
Feds label liberty lovers ‘terrorists’ … again!
Warns of right-wingers ‘suspicious of centralized federal authority’
The government is once again promoting the idea of “those who are reverent of individual liberty” being terrorists with a new study funded by the Department of Homeland Security.
http://www.wnd.com/2012/07/feds-label-liberty-lovers-terrorists-again/
Our government does NOT regard Muslim terrorists as the enemy!
Google: Muslim terrorist training camps in America. There are many. They are ALLOWED by our government. Who does the government regard as the enemy?
In 2009, Homeland Security declared the people to watch out for were veterans returning from the wars, pro-lifers and Tea Party attendees.
In 2011, Homeland Security put out a video portraying white people as the most likely terrorists.
The people helping Homeland Security to make these decisions are the Muslim Brotherhood in top positions in Homeland Security listed in the article ‘Muslim Brotherhood’s Long Tentacles Reach to America Gov’. Our military are overseas. They are needed in America to protect PEACEFUL, PATRIOTIC, freedom-loving, America-loving Americans!
See: Muslim Brotherhood’s Long Tentacles Reach to American Gov.

The shooter sounds like some dude who thinks he’s The Joker.
Blame conservatives and the TEA Party first!
Well well well…now I’m picking up that this jerk is not only a registered democrat – but a member of something called Black Bloc, something like an OWS organization.
Curiouser and curiouser…..yet the celebs are tweeting about taking guns away from private citizens.
Just wanted to point out that in my tweet shown above, I did not blame the Tea Party or the Right whatsoever. I merely wondered of the shooter was one of these guys who wanted I serve in our military or police force, is rejected, and within a few years is arrested for shooting people. Seems to be at least something of a trend among non-political-terrorist shooting suspects. That does not appear to be the case with Holmes. (I guess my crime was mentioning Zimmerman, who I always forget is some kind of Tea Party hero or something).
For what it’s worth, I just went to 411.com, supplied a city and state of Aurora, CO, and searched for the name “James Holmes”. I got 35 hits. Then I searched the same city/state for Jim Holmes and got 100+ hits. And they want us to think that it is LIKELY that the Jim Holmes they found on the Tea Party Facebook page is the same one that shot up that movie theater?
For crying out loud! Can’t these so-called brilliant journalists do even those simple searches I did – which took about 2 seconds each – and determine how likely it is that the guy on Facebook was shooter?
They’re not even TRYING to be remotely fair or honest.
