Rule of Law

All the President’s Thugs

February 27th, 2013 - 7:37 pm

Hey, Bob, you can’t say we didn’t warn you. We knew this White House was capable of attacking even the great Bob Woodward for telling the truth.

You could have listened to Michael Barone. He saw it coming even before Barack Obama was elected. In October 2008, he penned “The Coming Obama Thugocracy.”

I experienced it when DOJ press harpy Tracy Schmaler yelled at a half dozen reporters, as the White House official did to you, about my under-oath testimony involving the New Black Panther dismissal.  Her victims included Pete Williams, Quin Hillyer, and Sharyl Attkisson. After Schmaler’s thug tendencies were well known, she was nurtured and promoted within the Thugocracy instead of being canned, as any administration before this one would have done to her — Republican or Democrat.

Schmaler has since been appointed a Made Man of sorts, entering the rarefied private sector air of David Axelrod’s shop.

Schmaler’s story is typical of this gang. Her shouting, threats, and rants at reporters would have rendered her unqualified to serve in the press shop of a state department of agriculture.

But there is something unique about the Obama White House. It borrows tactics and standards from the darker figures in history — threats, projection, unrepentant dishonesty, towering columns in stadiums, and even bloody mayhem like Fast and Furious hatched for political purposes.

Richard Nixon seems like a fluffy kitten compared to this crowd.

Which brings us back to you, Mr. Woodward. What’s happened when you, of all people, are the bad guy?

Had you ventured into any cocktail party in Silver Spring or Takoma Park just a few years ago, you would have been treated like a hero — liberal Washington’s very own version of Pittsburgh Pirate Bill Mazeroski, who with one swing of a bat brought down the reviled Nixon.  “Maz” never had to pay for a meal in Pittsburgh after that October afternoon in 1960 when he delivered a World Series.

That used to be you, Bob.  But now, you’re the problem!

You, of all people, threatened by a Democrat White House.

And where are your defenders? Where are the new hipster reporters of the left to defend you? Where have all the flowers gone, they used to ask.

But this is serious stuff. When the elder statesman of the industry that guards the First Amendment is threatened by the White House, it marks a dangerous turn. When other “reporters”  join in, it is even more dangerous.

Perhaps this will be enough for the usual phalanx of fools at places like Mother Jones, TPM Muckraker, and The Nation to at last wonder if we’ve come full circle back to those days of righteous triumphs in August 1974. Outrage toward abuse of power was so in vogue. Where is the righteous indignation that seized a nation beginning in May 1973?

Maybe it was all a show, Bob.

Did the wave you started have more to do with the “R” after Nixon’s name than principle?

With you, I’d say it was principle. But with the rest of the liberal left, it’s starting to look like poor Dick Nixon got a raw deal compared to this mischief of rats.

I remember watching the 1960 Presidential Debates with my parents on TV and my father saying about JFK, "he's only in this election because his brother got killed in the war. This guy is nothing but a playboy, not much more." But once he won the election the adoration only intensified and after his assassination the deification began.

A great quote comes to mind (Ben Stein said it, but I believe he was quoting a friend of his):

"Can anyone even remember now what Nixon did that was so terrible? . . . He was a peacemaker. He was a lying, conniving, covering up peacemaker. He was not a lying, conniving drug addict like JFK, a lying, conniving war starter like LBJ, a lying, conniving seducer like Clinton — a lying, conniving peacemaker. That is Nixon’s kharma."

It's so disgusting to hear media howl like children at the actions of Republican office-holders, then without a moment's hesitation, barricade the reputations of Democrats. I look at these people - FDR, Kennedy, LBJ, Carter, Clinton, Obama - and I see horrible individuals, both personally and politically.

After years of the pot calling the kettle black - I'm happy to Woodward getting some flak for a change. Journalists are a special class of scum, so its nice to see them eat one of their own. I'd like to think it will make them see the error of their ways - but I doubt it.

Those maligned non-"military" rifles, which we're told we don't need, are looking more valuable by the month, if not the week.

So, after five or six years of carrying Obama's water, Woodward gets what one hopes will be his wakeup call. Doubtful, since earlier this week he attempted to excuse the behavior of Obama as simply an expression of naivete.

However, I will continue to hope that Woodward will now put two and two together, along with that exponent, and come up with the true magnitude of the deliberately malign presence currently occupying the Oval Office and blast it all to hell.

Well, I've said it before and I'll say it again, unlike Fast and Furious, Watergate never killed anyone.

This just goes to show the facist community organizeer and his merry band of thugs will crusify anyone that gets in the way of destroying their agenda. Their agenda is to destroy the greatest people in the world. The sad part is how the media, in order to get cozy with these thugs will throw a true journalist under the bus as much as it will throw the people it is supposed to represent.

Perhaps because I don't trust a thing Liberals or this WH says, I think this present uproar is a ruse to deflect attention from the next power grab.
It is one thing after another and nothing leads anywhere.

Is there anymore evidence needed that this country is being ruled by Communists, well versed in the Alinsky style tyranny and tactics that they need to gain full and complete power. This has been their plan for decades and they have slowly and successfully put themselves in power over an unsuspecting populous that is unaware of these stealth methods used by these "people" to take over education, media, entertainment, and the Democrat Party. The lies, deceptive tactics, and thuggery used by these scumbags are obvious to too few Americans.

That would make a great book Disraeli! How our enemies waged war and won without firing a shot. How we invited them into our homes, schools, our very own White House. John Dewey, John Keynes, FDR and so on.

Just read an article and taped interview with Lanny David saying that the Washington Times was warned they would be denied access to the White House if they kept publishing his articles. Apparently Lanny is not left enough for the powers that be on the staff there and was being too critical of the president. Came through a link to Breitbart.com. He came out to back up Woodward!

If true—about the Times being denied access—it once would have been a front page headline, not only in the Times, but in all major newspapers.

I used to always read the paper. I used to always watch the nightly news. Now I do neither.

Bob Woodward should have been on the next plane out of DC when the WH contacted him with their threats headed right to Phoenix, AZ for a visit with Sheriff Joe Arpaio. You would have really seen the WH scrambling and threatening with that move.
