This is CNN:

On Saturday’s CNN Newsroom, anchor Don Lemon played a clip of his interview with Allen Hardage, identified as the director of America’s Town Hall:

LEMON: Where was the outrage five years ago, ten years ago, 15 years ago? Why all of a sudden this outrage now? At least the president is trying to reform health care, so where did the outrage suddenly come from?

Where was the outrage 15 years ago? I’d say the outrage was directed right here. Those with memories slightly longer than CNN’s Lemon of a journalist might recall this infamous meltdown back then from a similarly biased newsreader.

And speaking of remarkably short memories, as Orrin Judd jokes, noting the left’s seething outrage today over conservative Americans and completely forgetting their seething outrage of the previous eight years over a conservative (well, compassionate conservative) American president, “Those Fascists Called Me A Commie!”

Which is why, as Rich Galen wrote last week, HUAC Is Back, Jack:

Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer have single-handedly returned us to, as the opening to the Lone Ranger used go, “to the days of yesteryear” by saying in an op-ed piece in USA Today that: “These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views – but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades.”

Joe McCarthy would have been so proud of them.

And Joe would have loved Tail Gunner Rachel Maddow’s grilling of former GOP Rep. Dick Armey, which Mark Finklestein neatly paraphrases as, “Are You, Or Have You Ever Been, A Member Of The Tea Party Coalition?”

Maybe Dick should have simply quoted from Hillary Clinton back in 2003:

“I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you’re not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration.”

Not that CBS, which did its damnedest to oust President Bush in 2004 and usher in the Obama era four years later would agree.

  2. Don Lemon, or as I like to call him, the man who beats Chris Matthews at being most in love with St. Barry of the Sacred Teleprompter.

If it wasn’t obvious before, the kid-gloves treatment of Obamabi makes it clear that the American mainstream media is a joke.
