Crazy? No. Stupid and mal-informed? Yes!
Call me crazy, but I think it should be harder to buy an AR-15 than it is to buy Sudafed.
— David Cicilline (@davidcicilline) September 2, 2019
Please note that David Cicilline is a fully Twitter-credentialed member of the Blue Checkmark Outrage Brigade. That’s because he’s a congressman representing Rhode Island’s 1st District, chairman of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee, and chairman also of the Antitrust Subcommittee. So you’d think Cicilline would have some familiarity with the law, but you’d be wrong.
Cicilline did, however, receive quite the education in his Twitter mentions, on the off chance he actually reads them, and on the even more remote chance that he’s capable of comprehending them.
Really?!? Which Federal form do you have to fill out in order to buy Sudafed? And what database does the pharmacist query when doing the required background check?
— (((WitCoHE))) (@E__Strobel) September 3, 2019
The only reason it’s at all difficult to buy Sudafed is that the government has decided it’s more important to mildly inconvenience some meth heads than it is for you to be able to buy cold medicine that’s worth a damn when you need it most.
I hope the 40k likes are people bookmarking this, rather than nodding along with this flaming idiocy.

But it gets worse, because apparently Cicilline is really proud of his Big Lie.
You pinned this … ROFL
— The 🐰 FOO (@PolitiBunny) September 3, 2019
That’s right: He pinned this tweet to his Twitter profile, where it’s the first thing anyone sees.
Of course, Cicilline does have a small fan club of like-minded ignoramuses.
Crazy!

Takes one to know one, I guess.
And:

That’s right: People walk right out of the gun shop with their legal purchases. Darlene is apparently unaware of what goes on from the time someone walks into the store, and when they’re finally able to walk back out. But trust me, hon, it’s a little more time-consuming and a lot more involved than picking up meds from the pharmacy.
That’s here in gun-loving (for now?) Colorado. Trying to buy firearms in Cicilline’s home state isn’t quite so “easy.”
U do know that here in Rhode Island where you supposedly represent, there's a background check and a 7 day wait period, Right? So in RI I'm 100% positive there's no 7 day wait period or a background check for fucking Sudafed. So sit the fk down & close your flap

Anti-gun people saying stuff like this is exactly why pro-gun people don’t take them seriously when they call for “common sense gun control”.
You need to actually have common sense first.

I’ll give the second-to-last word to James Branch:
Only a Congressman could be this dumb.
— Goldens Rule (@jamesbranch3) September 3, 2019
Or as Mark Twain once quipped, “Suppose you were an idiot, and suppose you were a member of Congress; but I repeat myself.” It’s enough to make you wonder what Twain would have said if he’d actually known David Cicilline.
